He's got good striking but has never had great guard defense. I'd have liked him to have put in a good showing and I expected Kang to beat him, just not had hoped it might be more competitive.

Hansen is an oddity. He's not spectacular at anything but he always manages to surprise his opponents and generally eke out a win. I'm looking forward to the Kawajiri match.

Bloodyknux.com and upstandingfuckingcitizens.com are better sites produced by former Sherdog vets.

Did you get that gif from Sherdog? If so, what thread was it? http://tobago.globat.com/~ctennis.com/down...olemanafter.wmv Have a look there. I find it very ironic so many are quick to dismiss Sherdog because of stupid people on the forum. I don't think any internet forum is actually going to have much intelligent discussion. However we do have pro fighters, amateur fighters, jiu jitsu black belts, company presidents, martial arts association presidents and do our best to provide a decent news site that covers events internationally, good quality photos and an entertaining radio show. You can't really blame us for the people that choose to use the board, people sign up voluntarily, we don't invite them.

In regards to the whole CB/HH incident, I think the second Ninja got in the ring and stared down Coleman CB were in the wrong. Rather than rush in to take care of their team mate they became more concerned with rushing in to attack Coleman. Ninja, Wanderlei and Christiano Marcelo apparently threw punches at Coleman while Baroni took Wand down and Coleman then stood on his neck to keep him there. Coleman had stopped attacking Shogun and had noticed the injury, next thing he knows the rest of the team are trying to attack him. Shogun also needs to practice his breakfalls as he's rehabbing that dislocation.

"I am finished creating stars." - HHH, Raw, 23rd January 2006 Is anyone really surprised HHH is giving Cena the same treatment he gave Booker considering that?

Didn't Vince and Trish do this skit before?

I wonder what Dawn Marie thinks of this.

PRIDE looking to hold No Weight-Limit GP
cameron chaos replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
If they do have a UFC rep, I think Randy Couture, assuming Chuck retains his belt, would be a good candidate. He's been a champ in both the UFC HW and LHW divisions, could finally face Silva, is retiring in the not too distant future which means this could be either the perfect cap to his career or the opportunity for someone to build their reputation by defeating him. I think if fighters only over 183lbs enter then it could be somewhat balanced, if someone like Gomi goes in against Noguiera, Rampage, Fedor etc it could be very nasty. I thought it was Arona's knees while controlling from a sprawl top position and his GnP that smashed Saku's face in, not his stand up skills. -
The Canadian Destroyer, given the old war ships of the same name were considered to be virtually unstoppable, is pretty good IMO given how it is touted as the most dangerous move in TNA. Considering WWE used to promote Hardcore Holly as a bar brawler I think the Alabama Slammer fits even if it's not the best name out there. I think he got the name from the Bruce Springsteen album.

I think that's Giant Bernard aka A Train.

I was wondering how long it would take LotC to switch to one of those gifs from his Silva-Kondo stomping one. Nice to see my psychic powers are not failing. Mirko is apparently considering retirement incidentally. He's certainly got enough money and he apparently wants to spend next NYE with his family. I guess these two decisions against Fedor and Hunt have really knocked his confidence down. -

A mistake on his part considering he got his bell rung and looked up at the lights in round one. YPOV, I train sometimes with a guy who does KK. He comes along to kickboxing because they don't train head strikes at all where he goes. You can kick above the shoulder but not to the head, if that makes sense. So hypothetically he can kick guys in the neck or axe kick them on their collarbone but any strikes to the face result in a caution and repeated offenses end up with the person being DQ'd. Also, the fake low kick to jumping roundhouse is in MT also, I don't think capoeira mestres teach it. -
Can you go start a topic elsewhere to troll and insult me? This thread's just getting more and more off track.

I'm really sorry I don't put a lot of effort into posting on a wrestling messageboard to impress others, I didn't know I was meant to Charles Dickens "as a poster", whatever that may mean. I just thought this was a place to discuss wrestling now and then, I didn't realise I was being graded along the way. I'll make sure to take your comments on board, person I don't know at all. Maybe one day I'll be your messageboard hero and you'll forgive me. As for making a big deal, my initial post was sarcastic, how exactly does sarcasm express a serious attitude towards the matter? I just think staging fights for whatever reason is stupid unless there's money involved. I didn't expect that so many would consider it a perfectly acceptable social activity but whatever floats your boats. NL5xsk1, I'm not exactly up on the geography of small American diners so cheers for the info. To an extent it explains why they did it since it was a relatively safe remote location, however I still would prefer my idea.

How am I overeacting by saying it's stupid to cause a public disturbance just for the sake of a few people in a restaurant? It is. I'm not calling for their heads on a plate here so I don't really get the overreaction you claim I am having, but I can't imagine any other kind of managment in any other company in any other line of work being pleased with co-workers staging fights in front of customers to entertain themselves. If you can think of any jobs where that would be fine, please feel free to enlighten me. As for having fun, I personally would rather go rent out a top of the line car, speed around the city picking up women and then go clubbing rather than take the time to inform the local authorities and owners of the estblishment that I'm planning to play-fight with my friend for a few fans sitting at another table but I guess everyone has different standards.
-
No shit. All that prep work to humour some guys in a restaurant. I don't know whether that's impressive or sad.

It was Jindrak, not Stasiak. And how that is a negative thing is beyond me; he worked the dirtsheets and the smarks ... big deal. No he didn't. They were working and having fun with a few fans who were at the bar that night. It got back to the Internet and like everything else, the gossip boards and dirtsheets made it out to be a big conspiracy against us. You're right ... doesn't change my point, though, it just makes me re-word it. It was Jindrak, not Stasiak. And how that is a negative thing is beyond me; he worked the marks that were eating chinese food that night. It's stupid and irresponsible. Both were recognisable figures on national TV who, just for kicks, pretend to have a fight for the sake of a few marks. If the owner of the place had called the cops, registered a public disturbance and the two had got picked up it could have been a much more unpleasant situation. They pretend to fight in their careers, you'd think they'd be able to restrain themselves in public. I doubt if two guys in any other line of work who publicly embarass their company by pretending to fight each other in front of prospective customers would have kept their jobs or stayed in managment's good books. The place to work marks is in an arena where people have paid up to participate, not a restaurant where some guys are eating noodles.

Orton has driven two women out of the WWE, staged a fight with Stasiak for the Hell of it and now after all the WWE's efforts to "support the troops" he's going around saying "fuck the military" and using staff security as an aide for him to start fights with so he get away scott free. Considering JBL's reward for breaking German laws and acting in a racist manner, I expect Orton to have gold soon.

That's Ross Pettifer vs Rob Evans from a Cage Rage show they ran at Caesars night club (I know the ring says Cage Warriors but this was at a time when the promotions were getting on, didn't have much money and so shared an octagon). I was there that night and the whole event got held up for about half an hour while they got the paramedics in to move him. Pettifer apologised for his behaviour on the house mic straight afterwards, explaining it was just an instant reaction while he was on an adrenaline high. The whole thing could have been avoided had Evans not lied about his experience to the promoters and presented false credentials before going in there. He claimed to have Savate, Full Contact Kickboxing and Karate experience but was little more than a chancer talking and presenting shit to try get his opportunity. Unfortunately Ross can kick through two wooden baseballs bats put side by side so Evans hurt himself trying to hurt Pettifer.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Well even though karate generally as a rule sucks copious amounts of ass, Kyokushin is actually pretty awesome. Leg kicks, knees to the face; all legal. It's actually better than some forms of kickboxing, although only open handed strikes are allowed, but only to the body. There are NO STRIKES TO THE FACE in kyokushin karate. No punches, knees, no kicks nothing. It is against the rules. Open handed strikes are not encouraged, punching using your middle knuckle is so all your bones line up is. It's practitioners are known for their body shots and tolerance for abuse but usually have low guards as they are not used to being hit in the head. Aside from GSP, Takanori Gomi, Bas Rutten, Glaube Feitosa and Francisco Filho are probably the most well known people who have studied KK. Gomi took it up about 6 months ago to improve his kicks and body shots in preparation for the LW GP. St Pierre has not trained kyokushin karate since his master died several years ago. He took up BJJ as he didn't want to train KK under anyone else and trains Muay Thai with Dave Loiseau these days although some of his kicks, and indeed Loiseau's as a result of training with GSP, are very KK style, most notably the spinning back push kicks and hook kicks to the body both employ. Loiseau is also a TKD black belt so between the two of them and a MT coach they have a solid camp for their striking. Both the Rua brothers used to do KK but have been with Chute Boxe since their late teens (15 for Shogun and 17 for Ninja I believe) so again like GSP, while their roots are in karate they currently train MT. -
He's young, talented and very aware of it. Also some feel his claims about Diego greasing up before their fight are the words of a sore loser.

Actually PRIDE have tried to negotiate with UFC about an annual world championship fight card, with each weight classes best fighters or champions fighting against one another, however UFC has declined doing so insisting they want to build their American fanbase more before participating in anything like that. With Chuck Liddell vs Wanderlei Silva, Dana was hoping for that to occur and put up 250Gs for Chuck to beat Silva if they met in the first MW GP final. "Rampage" Jackson beat Liddell in the tournament by TKO so the fight never happened and Silva went on to win the GP title. With Randy Couture vs Wanderlei Silva, a lot of people expected it to happen if Randy had defeated Chuck the second time but it was not to be and with Liddell's win opening up many possibilities for the UFC the fight doesn't look like it will happen any time soon. Maybe in 2007 if both Silva and Liddell are still champs however with Arona ready to face Silva for his PRIDE MW belt, things look grim for a MW UFC vs PRIDE championship fight.

Man cries at a Wrestling Convention
cameron chaos replied to UZI Suicide's topic in General Wrestling
Good for him. Doesn't meant I don't consider it lame and odd, leaving me to wonder how warped his kids may turn out. As for me "defending myself", I've asked simply for people to try explain to me how wrestling is "real" and not just predetermined entertainment involving people trying to tell a story while employing dramatic but unrealistic techniques. I've given specific examples of how it is unrealistic. I've tried to make it clear how neither wrestling or stunts in movies are executed to actually hurt the other person. No one seems to actually be capable of answering my questions as to "why" they consider it real of what aspects of do they consider to be "real", yourself included, so I really can't be arsed anymore since no one seems to be able use coherent logic or type more than a few derisive lines. If you consider wrestling to somehow be real, good for you, however next time you should listen to the part of WWE's "Don't try this at home" promo where they say "This is ENTERTAINMENT, but the hazards are real". Do you understand what that means? Do people get hurt in wrestling? Yes, but no more than a stunt man does. The only difference is a stunt man has a union that ensures he is unlikely to end up with long term disabilities as a result of his line of work.
