Thank you for speaking on behalf of the entire human race. Seriously, I'm not an independent human being with my own thoughts and feelings. I'm glad you're here to tell the entire world what we care about. If the war was being fought on American soil- maybe. But if you really believe that every American voted solely on the war, give me some of that acid you're dropping. The war is thousands of miles away, and there are people that don't have family there, and don't really think that their super-power, hegemonic home country is in grave danger, b/c they believe 9/11 was a fluke and that it couldn't happen again. Whether or not they're right isn't the issue- some people voted based on how they could support their families and preserve the little bubble that they live in. For many of them, that bubble does not include Iraq.
-
... I assume you're going somewhere with that... I'll meet you there. Bush used 9/11 and information linking terrorists to Iraq in order to justify military action. Clinton used information about Iraq's nuclear program. Pick your poison- fact is, they both wanted the regime change, and it's no conspiracy. Edit: Before it's even said- I would've much preferred missile strikes to a full fledged invasion, too, so don't even toss that noise my way.
-
How quickly we forget Clinton wanted it, Bush wanted it. The difference was that Bush had (albeit shitty) information to justify it, and went further then Clinton did. We've already conceded that the information sucked, and I'll be right alongside all you hippies that say it wasn't the brightest idea. /me Still claiming the administration was a little too eager to go there.

Aye. Elections are quite heavily issue based, evidence in the last election. A better statement would be that elections are heavily based upon the issues that each candidate presses as urgent. Meh- I think people vote on what they feel is important to them more than one would think. At least, myself and my friends are that way. Most of the campaigning centered around the war, which typically works in favor of an incumbent President. I think if Kerry had gone after the economy (attacking the deficit), the environment, and other social issues, he probably would've won. Instead, both candidates went with the war, and Kerry just came out worse.
-
... So far removed from reality- thank God I took the blue pill.

Possible fixing of facts and evidence in order to send our soldiers on an invasion of a foreign country (1,600 of which have perished thus far) is non-news? No, what's non-news is that the memo said it was America's policy to go into Iraq and oust Sadaam. Although, if you listen to enough media, people have been saying that the administration lied from the very beginning, so that would be old news, if you believed it. I don't believe that the administration intentionally manipulated information in order to justify the war. Unfortunately, I will however concede that what probably happened is that the information they got sucked and they were ready to believe it in order to justify the war. I guess I'm claiming ignorance on this one, not conspiracy.

Aye. Elections are quite heavily issue based, evidence in the last election. Anyway- back to the original topic. Seems it was just an act of protest against Saakashvili, not Bush. Way to make a scene, though.

I just don't think this needs to continue. Looking back at the previous thread, this was already declared non-news. Typical Republican talking points? Well yeah, if you consider relevant, complete, and accepted information as talking points, I can see why you'd be so upset by the thread being "no sold." All of it suggests that this was the policy, initiated by Clinton, and you're just itching for something to throw at America to support your blatant, overzealous bias. I've got no beef with you hating the man, but stop using every little thing you can to make Bush look bad. It gets really old, really fast. I'm sure you'd much rather have pages filled with "Bush should be impeached" and "Bush should be tried for war crimes," but there's a reason the previous thread died off so quickly.
-
Well thank you for contributing your typical anti-Bush, impeachment, war crimes bullshit nonsense.

I guess I'm of the school of thought that no matter how much money a family has, you can't be "straight fucking stupid" and get into Yale and/or Harvard. Maybe I'm naive, but somewhere along the way, he was educated. More people throw out the idea that he's a moron then defend his intelligence, actually. And if you're the President of the United States (re-elected, as well) then it seems to me that you have to be doing something right with your brain, and you're at least smarter then a lot of other people. I won't deny that he says some bone-headed shit sometimes, and he's not my favorite conservative, but it's really ignorant to say that he's "straight fucking stupid."
-
Yeah- If going to Yale for undergrad and Harvard for grad makes you "straight fucking stupid"...
-
Yeah, well then you can make the argument that Han is the chosen one, b/c w/o his presence at Death Star I Luke wouldn't have gotten that shot off, or that Lando is the chosen one b/c w/o his presence at Jabba's Palace, Boba Fett would've shot Luke. Just because he was there, doesn't mean he was the one. I'm of the school of thought that Anakin/Vader is the chosen one, b/c he committed the act that brought balance to the force.

Team Spud Batista Chavo Edge Funaki JBL Matt Morgan Shelton Benjamin HHH If HHH isn't back by June 13, I'll sell him to free up some money.
-
Probably Nomar Garciaparra. Although I don't really feel bad for him, since he did turn down $15 million a year to play in Boston. And look at him now. Drew Bledsoe, too. I just feel bad for the guy.
-
Episode I was uber hyped b/c it was the return of the franchise, the start of the prequels, etc. Episode II was not hyped as much b/c people were still pissed over Episode I.
-
you mean besides the ROCKY Rock has a much more Samoan look then a Black look. That's probably why he's not really considered a "black" champion.

Interesting article on espn.com about why Shaq should be the MVP, according to some. Somebody mentioned that Nash's team did better w/o him. While that may be true (6+ wins) you can't really discount how much better his new team did with him.

Boston wasn't cursed. The Red Sox were cursed. That is, if you buy into that bullshit. But the city itself- nowhere near cursed. The Celtics won 16 rings, obviously what the Pats have done, and the Sox. BTW- Bruins made the playoffs last year, too. Not really a disappointing season, if you ask me. I'm not bitching, that's for damn sure. I don't hear many people bitching anymore, actually- so it's kind of a moot point to make. Anyway- misconception. The Red Sox have won 1 World Series to the Yankees 26. They've actually won 6. And it seems to me that a lot of people didn't know what the "1918" chant was actually referring to.
-
That shit was tight.
-
Well doesn't the Boston/Indy game start an hour or two earlier then Houston/Dallas? They'll probably just finish Boston/Indy then cut to Houston/Dallas. Edit: Yeah. Beat me to it.
-
Where can you buy games for $10? Clearly, I'm missing something.
-
#1 You think people in Boston really give a shit about the Celtics? Wake up, rest of the country. Nobody in this city gives a flying fuck about the Celtics, nor have they really since 1992. People are more glad to see Larry Bird in Boston then worried about retiring Reggie Miller. #2 You think people in Boston really give a shit about Indiana? Yeah, Pats fans hate Peyton Manning, but when he gets beaten as much as the Pats beat him, it gets old. Kind of like how the Yankees didn't really bother with the Red Sox until they actually, you know, won. The Colts are just one on a long list of people the Pats play well against. The reason they win is b/c they're not compelling. They're not flashy, they don't have ridiculously overpaid players and they come ready to play. You'd better not get sick of them, b/c they're the team other teams want to be like. And HHH is from Connecticut, you know.

Pierce really pissed me off tonight. He better come out and kick some ass Saturday night. Good show by the Celts, really gutsy.
