This thread doesn't need to turn into another Patriots love/hate fest, but I'd suggest to any football fan to take a few minutes and look at some of the records they're on the verge of breaking. That shit is staggering.

A few other likes: Clay Buchholz's no-hitter. Matt Ryan and BC's fall from #2. Peyton Manning Pep Talks. I want to hate him, but some of his commercials are great. -

"How can anybody not like Tom Brady? He does all the right things, is so humble, and gives all his credit to his team." Except when he bitches at referees and taunts opponents! We're all guilty of it to some extent, but nobody tries harder to proselytize than Boston fans. As if people who couldn't stand being inundated with New England-based national sports media already are going to go "hey, wait, you're right! The hell was I thinking? Pats ROCK!" I think we're way past that. The rest of the country resents the Patriots, Red Sox and now even the Celtics. If you really listen to the Boston sports media [which I don't suggest you do], you'll find the theme now is "We're the luckiest city on the planet, even if we are the most hated." Forgive me- if the last six years have taught me anything, it's that I'd rather be a fan of a hated winner than a lovable loser. You of all people, Czech, should appreciate that. EDIT: And so should Yankee fans. You embraced the "Evil Empire" tag because it came along with six World Series trips since 1996. -

On the contrary, I think most Boston sports fans have gone out of their way to ensure as few people as possible like them. These pages contain an abundance of proof. -

When will people learn? When you're playing the Patriots, keep your fucking mouth shut. -
Check again. The offensive numbers are very similar, and Crisp's defense is considerably better. Seriously? Enough with the cancer patient shit. He was cured and the Red Sox were deliberately slow to bring him back to speed after being medically cleared by a handful of specialists. I as a Red Sox fan haven't seriously bitched about the Yankee payroll since 2004. I can't speak for the rest of them.
-
I wouldn't blame you. The Red Sox would be trading a cancer patient, a shitty centerfielder and two spare parts for the best pitcher in baseball. I love how teams expect the Yankees to give them 1.25 for a player but with the Red Sox they only want 75 cents. Crisp and Cabrera are virtually a wash. Then the packages go Lester/Masterson/Lowrie for Hughes and some mid-level prospects (Thorne? Jackson?). Are we really going down this "YANKS ALWAYS GET SCREWED" road again? Good negotiations work around flexibility.

Boston sports fans maintain a piece of shit critical mass at all times. This adds nothing. Aw see that just makes me sad. Anyway. The Pats really had no right to win that game. The Ravens are just completely incompetent. Penalties and poor conservative coaching.

Somebody REALLY doesn't want Hillary Clinton to win.

I thought that was one of the funniest bits they've done in a while.

I think that point is being overlooked. They're trying to make these films seem darker, closer to reality. Hence, Joker should be mesed up a bit.

If marijuana was decriminalized, this man would've been able to walk. -
If I'm the Yankees, I'd think long and hard before I include the only good young OF I have that's proven himself in the big-leagues. Cabrera's shown he can play on a consistently good level in the Bronx. Short of going out and signing someone else, that outfield looks like Damon/Matsui/Abreu/Duncan - old and injury prone. Unless they're planning on making Sardinha a full-timer? The Red Sox are at an advantage b/c Crisp is expendable behind Ellsbury and they've inked their starting pitching core (Beckett/Matsuzaka) for long term deals at reasonable money while keeping young guys in Lester, Buchholz and Masterson. Lowrie is blocked behind Lowell and Lugo for at least three years. Long story short- I think the Sox can afford to lose Crisp/Lester/Lowrie/Masterson more than the Yanks can afford to lose Hughes/Cano/Tabata/Horne. That being said, we could have this discussion again tomorrow once the packages change.

http://www.twincities.com/walters Can we lay to rest the myth that the Red Sox land top stars with shit while the Yankees land nothing with gold? Crisp, Lester, Lowrie and Masterson is a lot.

Like Czechers said, it'll be a little while before the entire story comes out. Stuff like what snuffy just posted is more information, but I've a feeling you've already made up your mind, eh Rip? I use nicknames.

The "son of a cop" argument is lame - Taylor being or not being a thug could've been completely independent of his father's profession. None of us knew him personally, so all of this is speculation. Anyway- interesting take on this from Jason Whitlock.

If I wasn't already convinced that the Republicans were going to lose in 2008, I'd feel worse about considering giving my vote to Ron Paul.
-
It's either Hughes or Chamberlain. I'd be stunned if a deal didn't include at least one of those two, especially with the Red Sox apparently willing to deal either Buchholz or Lester.

I didn't know Cris Collinsworth posted on TSM.

Besides the Colts game, this was the most fun I've had watching the Patriots all season.

That was a great swerve to fire Big Love. Good stuff.

The man can still talk. Looking forward to seeing if he can still go in the ring.
