I've done my best to avoid this thread for the sake of not becoming obnoxious, but I just have to chime in. Pats/Colts was an extremely exciting game to watch. But outside of Addai and Moss, I felt like these teams were loaded with talent who played really mediocre to awful games. Sub-par quarterback performances, sloppy tackling and an inordinate amount of penalties. In the end, I think it came down to the Patriots making better second-half adjustments, which you have to attribute to Belichick. Forty-five point blowout wins are about talent, and close games like this are about coaching. EDIT: The no Harrison/Gonzalez thing is so stupid- Wayne and Clark are their best receivers, and they did virtually nothing with the Pats best CB on the other side of the field. The Patriots also went without their leading RB, but you make adjustments and you gameplan around it. I swear, for every stupid "The refs are out to screw the OMFGPATS" argument there's a "Well you didn't play the REAL TEAM" argument.

Rip- you talking about the Dallas game?
-
coughweek13cough ...Seriously? This is the NFL and anything can happen on any given Sunday, but the game @ Baltimore is #4 on the list of games that could derail the Patriots, behind games @ Indy, vs. Pittsburgh and @ NYGiants.

I hope this is the end of Elizabeth Banks. I find her to be intolerable.

They'd literally have to double their payroll to land A-Rod. It's possible, just doesn't seem likely.
-
For what it's worth, 20% of the Patriots' points have come in the 3rd quarter and 26% in the 4th. The point distribution is pretty even throughout the game, so it's not like they're putting up another 3 TDs in the last ten minutes just to fuck with their opponents.

I've gotta disagree- I highly doubt the people in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago care that A-Rod ruined Boston's night.

Boras on the timing of the announcement: I believe him.

Looking forward to seeing where the new House/Foreman dynamic goes.

The 6-1 Packers have one of the worst running attacks in the league. Granted they're not beating the shit out of people, but they certainly show that a lights out RB is not required.

I have this feeling that Indy/New England is going to be over by the third quarter. I just don't know who's going to be on top.

Holy fuck, I forgot Bobby Lashley was even alive.

Seems relevant now. Anyone got any big ideas?

Seriously, fuck the E. Fuck the E so hard. He hasn't even come back and they're already shitting all over Jericho.
-
In a perfect world, it would go Umaga/Orton beatdown on HHH, saveusx29 plays- Jericho hits the ring to save HHH then levels him.

If the Red Sox are going to spend $25+ million per year for 6-8 years, they should trade Lester, Buchholz/Masterson and Crisp to Minnesota based on a successful extension for Santana. How did people feel about A-Rod making this announcement during Game 4 of the World Series? Ruffle anybody else's feathers that he couldn't wait a day or two?

Johnny from Burger King disagrees That whole thing sucked. Foulke was the real MVP of that postseason. Dude was untouchable. Now he's a villian.

With everything that was said about A-Rod after 2004, by Schilling and (I think) Varitek and others, I'd guess that Boston would be the least likely place for him to go out of all the possible places he could end up. Coupled with the Youkilis/Pedroia stuff, I'd be stunned to see A-Rod land in Boston.

Something like 30,000 pieces of furniture were bought under this deal.

I moved out of New England earlier this year and really didn't follow the Sox (or baseball in general) this season. It was only during the playoffs that I realized Gagne was on the team. Can somebody explain this one to me? Last I remember he was the lights out closer for LA, and now he's on the Sox and only being used in blowout situations. What happened? They picked him up at the deadline in hopes he'd be a great righty set-up man. He was not, and became blowout fodder.

Every team needs a mop-up guy.

If the Yankees spent that money on pitching, it would make sense. I just doubt they will. So- who wins the A-Rod sweepstakes? My money is on the Cubs.

Best player in baseball? Good riddance!

Re: bad parents- Seriously- what are you people basing this on? Separated parents doesn't necessarily equal bad parenting. Unless you're all friends with Brady/Leinart and see them abusing/neglecting their kids, you really have no basis for this, and it's a cheap shot. And ditto what CC said on NYC - that city being #6 on that list is asinine. I'd love to see this list if they weren't counting shitty managing/ownership.

Rest assured, he won't be in there for long.
