That's what I thought, but I've heard ESPN reporting that there will be a one-game playoff in NY if the division ends in a "tie" (despite NY having the division series).

If the Red Sox win 2 of 3, they play NY in a one-game playoff for the Division. If that happens and the Indians lose the series [winning only 1 of 3 or less], the Red Sox will have the better record and therefore win the wild card. Chicago already clinched their division. Edit: I think. I've heard different versions of the same story.

I'm more worried about which David Wells is going to show up tonight.

Dude- as a Sox fan, I hoped that it would come down to this series. As a Yankees fan, you should hope that your team has to play their greatest rival. Shit- not only as a Yankees fan, but as a baseball fan. This is what it's about for fans like you and me, dude. Would you rather the Yanks got in b/c someone else lost, not b/c they earned it?
