Foley indeed should job to Orton, but mark my words, it still won't be enough. Foley is only a shell of his former self, if even that. He is not regarded as high as he used to be, and just a simple jobbing will not do the trick. Now if they went all out balls to the wall the way Foley did for Triple H, then possibly it would work, but that would involve, an out of shape, retired, "regular guy" to work a SERIES of matches, and I don't really have a desire to see that. I mean this is all really no different then how Flair is not even effective anymore at putting someone over, sure he will job, but what good is that when all the crowd sees is someone beating a 50 year old broken down guy?

John Kerry: Shredding documents and abandoning
NoCalMike replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
You gotta love the line, "Kerry's abandonment of U.S. soldiers in Vietnam wasn't over yet" I mean come on, if we want to talk about abandoning your fellow men well then.......ermm nevermind I will leave that untouched. -
Yeah it is basically a publicity stunt that in the long run will probably prove to be meaningless, but hey, that doesn't mean ideally they shouldn't be able to be married. I do kind of have a question on this issue. It seems as though one of the key statements from conservatives on this issue is, "we want to protect marriage" and I just don't understand that statement. First of all, protect marriage from what exactly? What exactly are they trying to imply would happen to "marriage" if gays were able to be married, that hasn't ALREADY happened?

Republicans, Democrats come together in DC

Uh. Okay. But we're not all inventors here. Actually, Michigan still has the air of a ghost town from all the auto factories that got up and left. And finally these jobs are starting to appear again. Toyota's more popular models (Camry, Tundra, Sienna) are built in a plant in Kentucky. A lot of the reason why these jobs disappear is, as Toyota's proven (those models are some of their most reliable and solid) is not because American engineers are sloppy. It's that American managers are idiots. Let's move some CEO jobs overseas. A lot of american managers are idiots because of the hiring process. A lot of companies these days take a college degree over the fact of someone working with the company ten years, and ya know, actually understanding what the hell is going on there and knowing the inside and outs of the workings. So what you end up having for a manager/supervisor is some idiot that when you try to go to for a concern or question, you just get back a blank stare from because they have no clue about how anything on the manufacturing level works, but hey they have a degree in business, so they must know their shit, right!?! In a warehouse/factory setting, I think it would benefit people if they promoted from within rather then just check monster.com for a 4-year degree graduates and then pick one randomly out of a hat. You make think I am sounding ludicrous, but that is not far off from how they hired Supervisors at my last warehouse job.(Target). -

Republicans, Democrats come together in DC

Wait a fucking second, outsourcing cars to be made with cheap labor didn't hurt us? Sorry that is complete bullshit. True, maybe the corporate leaders are making more money, but quality of the motor vehicle as definately gone down. Cars are specificially being designed these days to make them harder to work on as well. Cheap Labor in the long run results in cheap results. The benefit of cheap labor in foreign countries is for those sitting in an office making out a budget, not to the consumer who ends up paying ten times as much money back in the service department for maybe shaving a couple thousand off the price of the car at purchase time. -
So Drudge reported this huh?

Ahhh I see, Edge comes back from an injury and undeservingly gets thrust right into the main event scene, and really only so Triple H can rub out another young talent before he even gets an oppurtunity to shine.

A lot of people confuse jobbing as putting someone over, when in reality, simply losing a match is not gonna do the new guy justice unless it is done right. When Foley put HHH over, he didn't just lose, but Foley and the announcers and the writers made it seem like Foley was god and that there was nothing Triple H could do to stand a chance against a hardcore legend. They had Foley throw everything at Triple H and even resort to become Cactus Jack again to bring out his "tough side" and Triple H still won every single time. Now compare that to the way Triple H does business and how he jobs. It seems whenever Triple H does job to someone, the following night on Raw, it is barely addressed by Triple H or even Jim Ross/Lawler, it is swiftly swept under the rug in order to setup the rematch in which nine times out of ten Triple H wins. Also look at Triple H's win over Booker T for a prime example of how to make your opponent look like shit. He pedigrees Booker T, rolls over, lays around for awhile, only to casually make a pin and STILL gets the 3-count. That was such a dick move and it no doubt hurt Booker T's credibility.

Well the outcry over the outsourcing of jobs is at least a bit refreashing. Nice to see some folks actually seem concerned with this latest "phenomenom" -
ABC News website admits to liberal bias
NoCalMike replied to The Robfather's topic in Current Events
If the mainstream news wanted to liberals a favor, they could do a lot more then talk about abortion and gun control. There are lot of issues that are never brought up in the news that you could consider "liberal friendly" Like I have said before, it is a corporate media, they look out for what is best for them to make money, that is all. -
Not that I don't want to jump at a chance to see Slayer(again), but that means I have to pay a premium ozzfest ticket price to see a most likely short set by Slayer. Hmmm......I just dunno. I know my GF would try to kill me if I caused her to miss Slayer & Ozzy, but I have seen both numerous times, and I am just tired of Ozzfest as a whole.....

Would be great if somehow Heyman arranged for the winner of a NWA-TNA tourny to throw down the belt and proclaim himself as the new ECW champ and then walk out of the ppv. Just like Shane Douglas did to NWA back in 93.

the sad part of this means that Triple H will be booked as GOD for another year. Not that it is suprising, but there was always that tiny chance........

I was approx 13-15 I believe when B&B was in it's prime and while I laughed at the segments where they made fun of the videos they watched, I must say looking back on it now, and re-watching the episodes, there are a lot of jokes and comments I didn't understand back then, but now I find hilarious. Hail to the B&B video segments....

I liked the restored editions. Not the ones where they fucked with the scenes, but just the ones where they upgraded the sound and picture quality.

I still really like and watch the Simpsons, however when it comes to brand new episodes, I don't really clear my schedule to make sure I watch them a anymore, plus the syndication of them around here tends to rerun the previous seasons episodes right after the current season ends, so they usually get re-aired pretty fast.

Damn I think I am gonna finally buy a WWE dvd. Yes, this will be my first. This one is really perking my interest.

the problem, like others have said, was that Orton basically no sold Foley's promo. He didn't have a flashy comeback, or even look humiliated, he never even addressed Foley's comments. The titantron just went to Orton and Orton offered to brawl with Foley. Of course this all led to Orton STILL not being over at all, so yeah pretty POINTLESS.

good stuff. not necessarily breaking new ground, but hey it is always nice for our feelings on this to be re-affirmed by an "insider"

I don't think Beyonce is considered for the role because she is black, I think it more has to do with her being the current flavor of the month, and she is going to get anything and everything that comes her way. As long as her 15mins goes by before they actually start shooting the film, then we should be A-OK.
