The OAO WWE Progress Discussion: Year-Half Edition
zyon replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
Best Worker- I'd have to go with Benoit cause of reasons already stated and something that sets him apart from Benjamin is that Benoit just draws you into his matches better as of right now, but Shelton is definitely an honorable mention. Most Improved- I have to go with Batista. The guy before Wrestlemania was getting "pops" that he had no right in getting and is still getting cheered to this day. He started off as the guy behind Orton and ended up being the number one face on Raw. He still needs to work better in the ring though and it seems his entrance tires him out before he even gets to the ring, but those are just little complaints. Spot Of The Year- I think I enjoyed Ortons counter to the Chokeslam more than the Ladder Match spot and the super kick spot. The two I just mentioned are amazing and to be honest are probably more memorable spots, but I remember calling that if Orton has any chance to win the match he would have to counter the chokeslam into the RKO...too bad he didn't win though. Biggest Disappointment- Anything to do with Kane. For years the guy just can't buy himself a reasonable push and this (half) year was no different. Its kinda hard for the fans to get behind somebody who is basically a joke, and now the WWE has been given another chance after the divorce of Kane and Lita to let Kane be the monster he should have been the last couple years...but I can see Lita picking up a victory over Kane. Best Match- I'm a minor Orton mark, and I want to say his match with Taker, but I enjoyed the Angle vs HBK match a lot more mainly cause of HBK's "Lesner" sell of the ankle lock. But the match as a whole was pretty good too. Funniest Moment- Tomko: Who is Mark Jindrak Christain: I...I don't know *odd pause* Christain: Doesn't matter I can beat him anyway Best PPV- Wrestlemania, had good matches and just a fun show to watch. -
Christain should go to Smackdown, but many things can cause faults on rather it is successful or not. 1. Tomko- The WWE needs to find a way for Tomko to jump with Christain since having Christain without his "problem solver" is like having peanut butter without jelly. The only way for Tomko to not join is to have him turn against Christain, but that would cause the death of kittens world wide. Personally I believe Christain could actually be more of force without Tomko holding him back, but the chances of the WWE screwing up a lone Christain push is high...not even HHH is on his own. 2. Cena Feud- Throwing Christain into a feud with Cena right away could work, but I wouldn't mind him getting a few victories on Smackdown before jumping into the feud. Also the outcome of the feud is probably going to have Cena winning which just sucks. The feud will be good, but he could end up being like The Big Show except he won't he be a transitional champion. 3. Character and JBL- Firstly Christain's character can not sustain a huge change, but really JBL has done a good job of berating Cena and has his comedy roles well. Yes Christain is GOLD, but JBL on the mic isn't half bad. I could see them taking heat from each other. 4. Longevity- Sure the first couple months of the Captain being on Smackdown could be cool, but then what? Will he just become The Big Show and wonder around in the midcard or will the WWE keep him in the upper card. Either way Christain's other programs has a mix of promising and suckiness. Rey Jr. program could be good, but Undertaker coming back to squash CCC would be horrible. The WWE has a gold mine in Christain who I don't think will reach Rock levels, but they have a guy the people want to pop for the WWE just hasn't given them a reason to care.

Preliminary Question: I found Smartmarks when looking for wrestling commentaries that I enjoyed reading, and then found the e-fed on the boards. Smarks Board Name: Zyon Real Name: Zak Owens Wrestlers Name: Zyon Nicknames: (The) "Unique Youth" Height: 6’2 Weight: 200 lbs Hometown: Elkhart, Indiana Age: 22 Face/Heel: Face Stable: None Ring Escort: None Weapon(s): Ladder Quote: None Looks: Short brown hair (Dyes for special occasions or if he feels like it) with bangs going to about the middle of his head. Will spike it up only on rare occasions. His eyes are a green color that in the right light could look as if they are glowing, but rest assure they are not contacts. His face along with his frame carries a youthful and handsome look that gets the women to “pop” for him without them actually knowing if he has talent or not. He likes to wear jean shorts to the ring and in a variety of colors ranging from blue, black, green, and khaki among others. The length of the shorts usually hangs a little bit past his knees. His upper attire is a regular short-sleeved T-shirt of random color with a large “Z” on the front. The color of the “Z” is opposite of the shirt. If the shirt were white then the “Z” would be black. Zyon’s footwear is a regular black athletic shoe. Ring Entrance: The arena goes black as the words “I’m Born”, “I’m Alive”, and “I Breathe” alternate on the Smarktron. “Vitamin” by Incubus kicks in as Zyon walks on to the ramp looking over the arena at the fans who are looking at him. As the song picks up Zyon runs down to the ring and leaps on to the ropes. He grabs the top rope and with a little hop pulls himself over the ropes performing a flip to “pop” the crowd a little. Zyon waits a sec as the chorus to his theme plays. You stare at me like I'm a vitamin. On the surface you hate, but you know you need me. I'll come dressed as any pill you deem fit. Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily. Zyon then performs a minor head bang and raises his arms in the air showing a little intensity. The song continues to play as the lights in the arena flip back on and Zyon taunts a little bit more before going to his corner as preps for the upcoming contest. (Note: Change ring entrance as you see fit if the wording doesn’t exactly fit your style.) Stats: Strength: 3- Not the strongest guy, but can lift those long enough to his a slam or quick suplex. Speed: 8- Zyon’s greatest strength. His style pretty much surrounds speed and what he can do with it. Vitality: 6- A bit above average toughness, well conditioned, but nothing special really. Charisma: 3- Has the ability to talk, and may throw out a good promo once in awhile but he lets his in ring work tell the story. Style: Zyon is a speed demon and likes the match to be faced pace and maybe a little sloppy just so it fits him better than his opponent. Facing those who are his size can make for fun matches where he can go balls out, but against those bigger than him he may try to apply strategy to cut the bigger person down to size. Either way Zyon likes to take to the air and perform maneuvers that some may deem flashy or high risk. Signature Moves: “Bring Me Down” DDT- A spike DDT performed by having Zyon in an elevated position and then dropping the opponent down on their head. Top rope DDT, Diving DDT, Powerbomb counter DDT, etc… “Half Moon”- Moonsault that can be performed after spring boarding off of…anything. It could be ropes, steel guardrail, steps, chair, pretty much whatever. “Cyclone”- Zyon will whip his opponent in the ropes and throw them up in the air into a flap jack like position and as the opponent is falling Zyon leaps into the air and nails a hurricarana spinning the opponent completely around so that Zyon is on top for the cover. “No Regard”- Glorified corkscrew body attack from the top rope on to a standing opponent. Zyon will usually run up the ropes instead of climbing on to them, and maybe as a counter to being thrown in the air he may if lucky land on the top rope and be in position. “Nature”- A reverse northern lights suplex where Zyon will throw the opponent on their front instead of their back. Could possibly be used on bigger opponents, but not likely. “Disconnect”- Zyon will whip the opponent into the ropes and perform a hip toss, but when the opponent is vertical Zyon will slip his arm toward the opponents head and end the move looking like a suplex or neck breaker. “Dawn”- 450 splash used for flash since Zyon never covers the opponent after doing it simply cause the opponent is far too close to the ropes. “Aero Driver”- Scoop slap into a piledriver, otherwise known as the Juvi Driver. Just to add a little flash to the move Zyon will perform a quick spin before spiking his opponent to the ground. This move has been known to catch some opponents off guard and could possibly give Zyon a win if he’s lucky or if the opponent is really fatigued. “Decline”- Reverse Russian leg sweep, otherwise known as the Flatliner that Kanyon used, not the maneuver that Jarrett and Hasan uses. “Imprisonment”- Zyon will hook the opponent in a double under hook and then drop the opponent chest first on to his knee. If feeling aggressive enough Zyon will perform multiple of these in succession. Common Moves Quick strikes- fore arms, quick kicks, wheel kicks, back kicks, drop kicks, etc… Ranas- Other more common rana including top rope, counters, and pinfalls. High Risk Moves- Top rope moves that include leg drops, super plexes, moonsults, flips, corkscrews. Can also include strikes like dropkicks and diving fore arms. Suicide Dives: Diving from inside to outside of ring with simple leaps to creative corkscrews and flips. Suplexes: More of the snap variety and maybe a text book one, but definitely no stalling or powerful ones. “Snap”- Zyon’s most recognizable move of his common move set. Zyon will run and perform a running front dropkick to the opponent’s chest and once Zyon lands on his back he immediately kips up and “pops” the crowd. Slams: Basic scoop slam, hip toss, arm drag, backdrop, occasional German suplex that sort of thing. Other: Basically anything a cruiserweight will do, but add some flash and arrogance behind it. Rare Moves: “Imperfect Design”- A sloppy crippler cross face that should only be busted out in submission matches or rules that apply submissions being the way to win. “Trump Card”- Can only be used on those his size. A top rope crucifixion power bomb. Only used as a last ditch effort and if he can actually lift the opponent up. Finishers: “Final Hour”- A spike cradle piledriver causing the opponent on impact to either crumble or bounce a couple inches off the ground. The “Final Hour” is a secondary finisher and is mainly used to set up his primary finisher… “Final Flash”- A beautiful yet destructive Swanton Bomb on to the opponent. Zyon starts by obviously diving off the turnbuckle and when he is completely vertical he slowly starts to tilt downward like a vulture flying down on to its prey. Zyon lands shoulder plexes first instead of just flopping on to his back. The move is done to perfection and can be done on higher objects than the top turnbuckle. Notes: Zyon has a mannerism of having fun at what he’s doing. He’s at times arrogant and laid back, but is disciplined enough to know when the arrogance is causing his skill to decline. He is able to be technical, but not able to be a full on power performer. Yes he is a spot machine at times, but he can TRY to wrestle with the best of them. Has an eye for an eye attitude and will cheat if his opponent does. It is known that Zyon’s high-risk nature has caused him some matches and some think he hasn’t really learned his lesson. Bio: I’ll put one down sooner or later.
