Can't seem to find the correct drivers online...downloaded one for my regular CD-ROM drive (Lite-On LTN486S) and it said that the "drive model does not match," despite it being labeled as the same thing. No luck locating a driver for my Supera DSM 6S165P burner drive either. Windows will not update the drivers using the Add Hardware tool for some reason. I found a thread where someone had the same problem and they said to uninstall them using the device manager, which I did. It picked them both up on the reboot but there is still an exclemation mark icon next to them in the device manager. Neither of them are listed under the "devices with removable storage" category in My Computer. My DVD burning software (Nero and another one) won't pick up either drive. Can anyone help? I absolutely hate fucking driver problems. driverguide.com was no help, by the way. Sorry if this is incoherent (sp?)...but I'm very tired. Thanks in advance. Jim

Just another step towards the homogenization of the World. And people go right along with it.

The Shane Douglas one isn't bad. Although it only covers '98 on, as apparently there was a previous one. Anyone have any idea about the first one?

Beef Wellington made it. And so did....RICK FULLER!!

Those tapes were more widely carried by video rental stores back then, too.

What they wanted to do was scrap Livewire and Superstars and re-tool them into a two-hour Saturday night show, which they did. But as someone said, TNN didn't allow them to re-brand the programming as WCW material. Personally, if that were the case, I would have left everything alone, because a two hour recap show is just business. I remember I used to watch Excess. Would it have killed them to show a dark match from Raw or something? From the Vault was ok, but a) the matches were clipped and b) they were usually matches everyone had already seen a thousand times.

Did they have heat going into the match? Or did Michaels just not want to work with Hogan?

Hence we got WWF Excess, a TWO HOUR recap show, which was supposed to be the new WCW show. There was even a poll on WWF.com for what the show should be called. The choices were WCW Nitro, WCW Saturday Night, a couple of names which escape me, and there was also something like "WCW Hot Box" I believe.

Anywhere from 2.44 to 2.73 here. It'll be very interesting to see if it continues to fall like it has the past two autumns.

Just because I spent the last 4 hours at a bar discussing it...

I would love to have seen Nirvana or Alice in Chains' Unplugged shows. Zeppelin in the early 70s would probably be number one. Also, I'm surprised at how many people said Faith No More. I didn't realize they had that big of a following, I know next to nothing about them. -
Yeah, that's actually kind of a running joke between me and a friend of mine. There was this kid we used to hang around with who, when he would come over, would start combing through drawers etc. and would be like "Dude, where'd you get this~!" And it would be the most uninteresting shit, too.

Jake the Snake (legit). I'll also second Sid.

I'm assuming he's referring to an external DVD recorder to plug into his television, and not a DVD burner on his computer. That's more or less their intended use, to record from TV as a VCR would. As someone mentioned though, DVRs are more efficient and they pretty much took over as far as replacing VCRs. You just hook the cable line into the input of the DVD recorder. Connect the recorder to the TV via the RCA inputs. You then select the correct input on the TV, and use the built-in tuner on the recorder to tune to the channel you want to record.

I just bought a new Western Digital 250 GB external hard drive to replace my old 80 GB drive for capturing video. I set it up and it mounted fine, I followed the instructions. I have Final Cut Express on my laptop, which is a PowerBook G4 (512 MB RAM). It is an old version of FCE, almost three years old. I go to start a capture using 'Capture Now' and as soon as I hit capture, the whole system hangs on the big, black "allocating disk space" screen. I had it a connnected via FireWire, so I switched to USB, with the same result. I also tried using 'Capture Clip' and the video came up on the screen, albeit choppy as hell, but the capture failed. I fired up my old 80 GB drive, which is just an internal drive in a case, and the capture started without a problem. The question is, is my computer just too slow for this brand-new drive? Does it spin faster than an older one? Could it be because I'm running an old version of FCE (which I know is not the greatest anyway)? It seems to me that a drive is a drive, more or less. Any thoughts are welcomed. Thanks.

I had DirecTV for a time and snow and ice would collect on the dish (not the "dish" part but the arm-type thing in the front), causing the signal to drop out until you went up and removed it. Of course, this would be unique to the northern states, but still..

Yeah, I remember hearing about season 4 coming out, but it was cancelled because 1-3 weren't moving too well.

I believe Hogan had left by that point over his payoff for Wrestlemania, and Nash had also left/been released. Goldberg was on the outs with WWE. Rock was off doing movies. Not sure on HHH. I'm sure any of these guys could have been signed up to do it if WWE wanted, I'm just venturing a guess.

Thank you so much, but what a bitch that method was. Especially since I've only posted 1,000 times in 5+ years. Not sure if this was THE first, but it has to be close. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=1231

Scott Hall? Yup, must be. That got away from me somehow.

Say what you will about Russo etc., but that was just such a great time to be a wrestling fan. I remember there was a half page full-color ad in the USA Today for the Raw right before Summerslam hyping the Taker/Austin feud. I think it will be a long time until wrestling grabs that type of audience again.

I thought every season except the last was at least ok. But I really didn't like it as much when they shifted to the college years.

Who was the "drug addict" he mentioned in that promo?

How were you able to pull up a post from February of '02? I'd love to find some of mine from then..

Jack, that guy is a prick for doing that. I would at least attempt to take some action against him and get them back. If you pursue it, the guy might freak out and just give them up. That's too many years of tapes to lose at once. I know how it is.

I'm pretty sure it was March to Wrestlemania VIII. I remember they showed the Warrior/Hogan match (or parts of it at least). When I really got into it was right before Wrestlemania IX. The first Raw I ever saw was the week after Beefcake's return where Hogan came back.
