I think Crow Sting worked largely because of mystique and because that type of character had not really been seen much. At the time it was not interpreted as Sting letting the WCW talent get their ass kicked, as much as it was no one knew whose side he was on. Every attack he did from October 96 to Uncensored 97, was against WCW guys who badmouthed him, but there was still enough doubt that he was possibly with the nWo. I think had they built upon his character in the 9 months after Uncensored, it might have helped, as would getting a clean victory over Hogan.

Orton would be likely, but in the light of what's happened the past month, if this is indeed true, it could be a whole range of guys.

Why does it have to be a black manger? Because Bobby doesn't trust whitey Actually, if Lashley ever turns heel, I'd stick Estrada with him. God knows they're not using him much now.

I don't doubt how over Lashley is, but the guy is still better off in regards to matches by working with vetss like Regal, Finlay, and Booker, rather than most of his ECW stint which didn't help as much. -

It is rather odd how in the larger public sphere the two camps have boiled down to those heavily blasting the company (and in some cases, the workers) and those seemingly circling the wagons, (even those outside such as Nash and Hart) in an attempt to protect it. Truth be told I doubt a lot of progress will be made by either side, as the defenders will be viewed as in bed with the company who regardless of motive , and those blasting Vince and ilk will be dismissed by enough as embittered ex-employees with a serious ax to grind. -

Booker seems most likely as the sacrficial lamb to HHH. -

Does Punk hate him still? -
I'm now expecting wrestling slashers to have at least three Shelton/Haas videos on youtube by the end of the week, with at least one set to "Guy Love".

If indeed Cena doesn't show up on Raw at all, would that be his first non-appearance since he came to the show in June 05?

Rey's reign also came at a bad time where Orton was suspended, Angle was taking time off, and JBL's back was falling apart, leading to him wrestling big guys like Khali, Henry, and Kane and looked terrible doing so, especially as he was booked to lose cleanly. It wasn't until his two-three week run with the King where he actually looked most credible, was booked as fighting back against the Court, and presented as being able to beat Booker one-on-one. -

They came back for the likes of Rock and Austin and neither could be described as strongly musclebound, even with Rock's good physique. -
I hope we don't a cheesy "Lashley wins in the same amount of time as Booker" scenario leading to a triple threat.
-
If anybody gets hurt by Benoit's erasement from history, its Booker, as the best of 7 defined him a singles guy, and his recent stuff with him on SD in the last two years was some of Booker's best.

I'm still expecting the inevitable "Hell needed a champion" banner.

I suppose Orton can get heat now by suggesting that "Benoit's up there *points skyward* in heaven." -

Its ironic that with all the criticism WWE has gotten over the Vince death angle, that they've handled this situation likely as tastefully and classy as they could have. With Vengeance, they're lucky that all they have to do is edit out commentary regarding Benoit and Vince, and not more. -

They can't just take him out of the DVD sets of like Mania unless they take the matches off........it's impossible to edit a man out of a match like that.... It wouldn't be removing him, or even removing matches, as much as would be not addressing him or making direct matches he did have. No retrospectives, no highlights, his matches included only on old PPVs because he was part of the card, and for the sake of his opponents. If the situation is indeed what's feared, I can't see a Benoit match on a highlight DVD for long time if ever. -
Does anyone know if all three brands will be there? A trivial question in light of everything that's happened I know, but using all them would make sense.

If the worst case scenario is true, WWE will indeed have to take extreme measures to remove Benoit from their history. Even a minute long highlight clip within proper context will be seen as glorifying a murderer. -

Considering there was already talk about ending the angle after Sherri, an older vet who didn't even wrestle or was in the company anymore, passed away, it wouldn't surprise me if creative just drops the angle entirely. -

Good god almighty. Rest in Peace to Chris and his family. -
Not to mention the many Court tags against Batista and the main event of No Mercy.
