WWE General Discussion - February 2009
BorneAgain replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Knox's finisher on him did look a little off. -
Gotta love the dead air shots.
-
Melina looks like she found Sherri's old Harlem Heat gear.
-
Punk wins. Colons vs. Miz/Morrison looks more and more likely.
-
Jesus, that's irritating.
-
Eh, truth be told you don't really need to be a flyer or a high spots type to work well in the match. MITB III had Booker, Orton, Finlay, and Kennedy, four guys who hadn't done ladder matches, and by playing to their strengths it turned out quite well.

I'll call Punk to win tonight, if just because it seems like they're moving towards Miz/Morrison vs. the Colons for Mania.
-
Probably the fact that he used to shit all over this type of bullshit. Good point.
-
I'm a bit surprised Carlin didn't get a mention. Yeah, primarily a comic, but he did occasional film work.

I want some footage from "The Day the Clown Cried".

Guys Currently Being Groomed For Top Spots
BorneAgain replied to The Niggardly King's topic in The WWE Folder
Morrison has some room for improvement at the moment. The guy has a great look and his move execution is completely crisp, but at the moment his occasional babyface style offense isn't offset enough by heel mannerisms to get him enough heat. Before and after the match he gives off a great vibe, but no so much once the bell rings. I'd like to see how he works the character as a babyface. Miz at times seems to have a better grasp with the crowd interaction. Guy's great facials on offense or taking bumps, and his overall demeanor in the ring screams heel better than Morrison does. John I think will go farther just based on his look, but part of me thinks Miz will surprise people. -
The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread

This weeks SD spoilers state that -
Speaking of many posts, any plans for what you're using your 20,000th post on bps?

David Caruso rocks it in Swirly.

Gooch is crazy. Beyond her being quite hot, I'm really liking Jo. She seems more developed than any other new character in the past couple of years. I can almost see another season working with the interaction between her and Sunny Day. Almost.

Real Name, did you watch that on the Indianapolis Fox 59 affiliate, because I just watched that one myself at the same time you did.

It would not be hard to make Lynn look credible in winning the TV title from Van Dam. After all the matches the two had, its hardly out of the question that Jerry (a veteran no less) is the one who finally has RVD's number just because he's had more of a chance to figure him out than anybody. From there just an angle with the likes of Sandman, Lynn, and Super Crazy fighting off the Network (Corino, Rhyno, Tajiri) would have probably worked.

That really had a season 1 feel to it, especially with the lack of fantasy moments. Solid acting by all those involved. I believe that's the only episode in the series without Elliot, Cox, Carla, or Kelso.

I find this to be an interesting exploration on why people are blowing their load about the Wii's success. What's your take on this Andrew?

That last segment was great. It did a solid job of establishing both characters, and it was nice finally see someone call Jericho out on his BS logic and insults towards the fans. Yes, Cena pandered to the people, but he came across as legitimate, and he makes a much better babyface character than Batista. I hope the beatdown will lead to a harder edged character for Cena, who thankfully toned down on the comedy tonight.

That needs to be the poster of some type of horror film, possibly involving hitchhiking.
-
I don't know whether it was due to the editing or the stories, but the whole thing did seem to go by pretty fast. The Michael/Holly story in particular came across as a bit rushed.

Do you ever read your old posts and just DIEEE?

I've got a bunch of ridiculous comments posted in the WWE folder. I was such a smark tool back in the day. Probably still am, just don't care about the business nearly as much these days.
