Comments which don't warrant a thread

Think we'll see more of Cena headlining the Smackdown PPV's? If he helps with Armageddon, he'll be back for sure. Sure, especially since I am more confident in Vince pulling the trigger on Cena/Batista by the day. 'Taker/Batista would be great for the Rumble and Batista can take a victory there and get the same effect as he would for ending the streak. I don't see the titles being on the line as it's not neccesary. At some point after NYR and probably NWO, Cena will drop the title to Orton/Edge (which ever HHH perfers to work with for Mania, hopefully Edge) and most likely, in typical WWE fashion, Cena will cost Batista the title at that show. Assuming you're correct, who would be in the title match for SD? Taker I can see, but their list of other Wrestlemania candidates is limited to Booker, Benoit, Kennedy, and an outside chance of Finlay or bringing over someone from Raw. Or given that they'll have Cena/Batista and some combination of Orton/Edge/HHH, will it not matter who's fighting for the WHC?

WON News + Notes, 4th December Issue

Weren't both Austin and Angle both injured from KOTR at that point? Austin, I believe had broken his hand, and I think Angle had his tailbone broken or fractured in the match with Shane. So it may have been the writers giving both something to do until they were healed up.

    OAO ECW Thread- 12/5

I couldn't help but think when Ariel and Thorn were out that at least once, an opponent should scatter seeds on the mat, and they're too distracted picking them up, and thus get beat.
  4. The taping opened with Matt Striker coming out, talking about injustices, using his loss to Balls Mahoney at the PPV and Big Show losing the ECW World championship due to the loss of a weapon last night as examples. Striker says that.ECW should be about extreme enforcement of the rules and that the audience is an injustice. Stirker says that only one man can forgive them for their trespasses, and that's him, Matt Striker. Sandman's music hits and he enters from the crowd. Striker screams at him, calling Sandman an injustice and tells him to get out of Striker's life. Sandman canes Striker and Striker runs off. Sandman poses. Joey Styles and Tazz make their way to the ring. They show a crying Paul Heyman backstage after December to Dismember on the Titantron - the promo where he announces Big Show will receive a rematch against Bobby Lashley for the ECW title. Heyman ends the promo with, "I'm done, thanks" and walks off. *Rob Van Dam and CM Punk vs Test and Hardcore Holly - Before the match, RVD grabs the mic and says that he knows what happened to Sabu was a result of Paul Heyman. RVD says that the match is dedicated to Sabu and both he and Punk do the Sabu pointing. The finish sees Punk trap Holly in the Anaconda Vice as Heyman's personal security comes out and interferes, causing a DQ. Sabu hits the ring with a chair and cleans house. Punk puts the Anaconda Vice on one of the security force. Van Dam hits a frog splash. Sabu hits a legdrop off the top. *Daivari comes out and challenges Tommy Dreamer. They show the footage of Dreamer taking the bump on the stage from the PPV. Dreamer comes out and they have a match, which Dreamer wins. Khali hits the ring and attacks Dreamer, chokeslamming him through a chair. *Backstage, Big Show promised that he would regain his ECW World championship. He claimed Lashley isn't really the champion because it took five men and the Extreme Elimination Chamber to defeat The Big Show. He promised that he'd once again be champion. *Kelly Kelly defeated Ariel with a rollup while Ariel was arguing with the referee. Mike Knox comes out dressed in a suit carrying roses. He gets into the ring and on his knees, begs for Kelly to forgive him. He says that he's sorry and she takes his hand. Knox then says he's sorry it took him so long to dump her, whacks her in the face with the roses and nails her with his finisher. *ECW champion Bobby Lashley pinned The Big Show. They needed to re-do the finish is appeared as Lashley tried to slam Show, but "kinda dropped him." The referee seemed hesitant to count the pinfall, and Show kicked up at two. They did a few quick moved, then went back to the slam spot, doing a pumphandle slam type move for the finish. Look for some editing

    Raw Thread For December 4th

Did the Booker/RVD combo theme grow on you or no? I was on a wrestling Hiatus at the point..Although I did order WM XX..I check the tape to see how it sounds..How was it?...I did like what they did with Big Show/Kane though It's...bad. First, it uses Booker's theme from the WWE Originals album. Second...the mixing just sucks. As I remember 90% of that song consisted of "Can You Dig It? ONE OF A KIND!" looped over and over.

    Raw Thread For December 4th

If they do debut Brown or a new talent in the Rumble they need some moment in the match where its two Raw guys in a corner, two SD guys in a corner, two ECW guys in a corner, and the newcomer in the last corner, trying to figure out what the hell to do.

    *Smackdown Spoilers*

Here's a more detailed set that seems to indicate the tag match was not for the titles. From PWInsider.com WWE Smackdown was filmed in Florence, South Carolina last night, and here are the results of the show: In a dark match, Henry Godwin (with the slop bucket) and Ray Gordy defeated Rob Conway and Tatanka when Godwin hit the Slop Drop on Conway. Smackdown began with a hearse parked near the entrance ramp. Ken Kennedy came to the ring and talked about how he had beaten the Undertaker twice and had nothing left to prove. The bells then tolled, the hearse backed up to the ring, and the Undertaker got out. Kennedy ran out of the ring and escaped through the crowd as the Undertaker posed. William Regal and Dave Taylor defeated London and Kendrick. London was outside the ring protecting Ashley or something of the sort when Kendrick was pinned. Once again, we got the World Heavyweight Champion wrestling in the middle of the show next as Batista beat Finlay by disqualification. Little Bastard came out from under the ring during the match and jumped off of the top turnbuckle. Batista caught him, and I believe this is when Finlay hit Batista with the shillelagh. Then, King Booker ran out and got Finlay dq'ed as they both beat Batista down. Surprisingly, Cena did not appear to help Batista. In the next match, Jimmy Wang Yang beat Jamie Noble for the number one contendership to the Cruiserweight title. I assume this will take place at Armageddon. Gregory Helms was commentating during this match. Chris Benoit did a backstage interview talking about Chavo and Vickie when Vickie walked up in a neck brace and whined about Benoit knocking her off the apron. She then slapped Benoit and stormed off. When she got around the corner, Chavo was there waiting. They chuckled about it, and it seemed like Vickie was faking the injury. MVP complained to Teddy Long about being put in the Inferno Match at Armageddon against Kane. Long said he would give MVP a chance to soften Kane up next week on Smackdown, as it would be MVP and Ken Kennedy against Kane...and the Undertaker. MVP flipped out. Chris Benoit beat Sylvan in a squash. The Miz beat Scotty 2 Hotty in a quick match. Afterwards, Boogieman came down and beat on Miz outside the ring. He then ate worms. The main event was Ken Kennedy vs. Kane. MVP came out and helped Kennedy beat Kane down. Undertaker's music hit and the lights went out. When the lights came back on, Kane was gone. Then the lights went out again and when they came back on, Undertaker and Kane were standing in the ring behind MVP and Kennedy. I assume this is where Smackdown went off the air. The four men had a match afterwards (probably a dark match), but I left before it was over. So, after this taping, the Armageddon card is taking shape. In addition to the 3 matches already announced, it appears that Benoit will take on Chavo, Regal and Taylor will get a tag title shot against Kendrick and London, Gregory Helms will defend the Cruiserweight title against Jimmy Wang Yang, and the Boogieman will face the Miz. I wonder if the dark match result indicates Conway coming to SD?

He signs a Triple Threat Match after Booker T invokes his rematch clause and Finlay demands a title shot. MNM defeated London & Kendrick after Regal and Taylor interfered. MVP ran in during the match and Kennedy bailed out. Kane came out to even the odds. (Some other spoilers from the Wrestlecrap boards say it was Taker/MVP and Kennedy ran in) Teddy Long announced the following matches for the Armageddon PPV Kane vs. MVP (Inferno Match) Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy (Last Ride Match) Finlay & Booker T vs. Batista & partner of his choosing.

From TNAWrestling.com VKM Accept the Hardy's Challenge VKM Accept Challenge To Face The Hardys On Sunday November 29th, 2006 13:05 TNAWRESTLING.COM EXCLUSIVE – THE VOODOO KIN MAFIA ACCEPT THE OPEN CHALLENGE TO FACE MATT AND JEFF HARDY THIS SUNDAY NIGHT On Wednesday, TNAwrestling.com received a call from the Voodoo Kin Mafia, who wanted to let the wrestling world know that they are publicly accepting the open challenge to face Matt and Jeff Hardy this Sunday night. Although the open challenge was answered on their Monday night program by another tag team, BG and Kip would like to also accept the challenge to make it a three-way match. According to BG, they will agree to compete in the bout under one condition – that the competition must cease and desist all “Dumb to the Xtreme” television skits effective immediately - and this must be verified by a signed and notarized legal document. In turn, The Voodoo Kin Mafia will agree not to air their footage this Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV. “You know Vince – a funny thing happened on Monday afternoon on your website when we were watching your little online press conference,” BG James said. “When the Hardys made the open challenge, I couldn’t help but hear the fans chanting ‘VKM’. Some other tag team may have accepted it, but it’s still an open challenge and the Voodoo Kin Mafia want in the match – so let’s make it a three-way. You have until this Thursday night before ‘iMPACT!’ goes on the air to give us an answer.” The Voodoo Kin Mafia await a response from the WWE regarding the acceptance of the open challenge Taking lessons from Bischoff circa 98 evidently.
