Batista and Booker T get into a fight?
BorneAgain replied to CheesalaIsGood's topic in The WWE Folder
If this is a work, its got some odd booking. From WWE.com Moving forward? May 18, 2006 SmackDown Superstars Booker T and Batista were in New York City today, representing WWE at the new CW Network’s inaugural upfront presentation. Prior to the event, Booker and Batista had breakfast together. While the two Superstars erupted into a fistfight last week on the set of the SummerSlam promo shoot in Los Angeles, Booker said that their breakfast was amicable in a phone interview with WWE.com. “We had a good talk, and we’ll have no problem working together and being professional,” said Booker. “We’re going to do what’s right for each other’s careers and the future of the company.” WWE.com is currently awaiting comments from Batista. The CW, the product of a merger between the WB Network and UPN, held the upfront presentation to officially unveil its network logo and Fall 2006 schedule, which includes Friday Night SmackDown. -
Somebody's in love with HHH evidently.

Now I want Anthony Michael Hall to freak out about June 18th.

I've always loved Terry's tendency to slap as a taunt. Even going back to the I Quit match with Flair in 89. Oh nice retread of the Foley-Funk-Bischoff angle in 95.

Hey, Outlaw footage.

Batista and Booker T get into a fight?

From Wade Keller: Edit: Lifted from Inside Pulse in case someone has the direct source for comparison. The recent Booker T/Dave Batista fight started because of Batista's mouth. During the Summerslam commercial shoot, Batista consistently mouthed off about the Smackdown brand. He badmouthed the other workers, saying that the show could not draw without him around to pull in ratings, and that everyone was hoping he would heal from his injuries quick enough to come back and "save the show". He consistently degraded the quality of the Smackdown shows, saying that they "just haven't been the same" since he left, and kept pointing out that Raw was clearly the superior show. While these comments were what led directly to the fight, the tensions between Batista and the rest of the roster had been building for some time. Since the departure of Brock Lesnar, Batista has believed himself to be "above" the rest of the roster, and has claimed on several occasions to be on the same level as The Rock, Steve Austin and Triple H. While his ego never seemed to be a problem backstage before his injury, he's always been prideful of his friendship with Triple H, even going so far as to point out to other workers that he's friends with "management". The fight clearly did not favor Big Dave, however, as Booker was definitely taking the upper hand before Sharmell pulled him off of Batista. Batista has claimed that he was protecting his injured arm, thus giving a reason for losing the fight. All parties agreed not to talk about the fight, mainly because Batista did get dominated and WWE brass doesn't want the public to know that one of the brand's main drawing cards was decisively beaten in a real fight by someone who's not supposed to be in his league. Can see why Booker was pissed. -
Honestly, even after the reveal on WWE.com and the interviews they did with both with Dave and Booker, I still wasn't convinced they'd do anything with it. But the fact that Cole specifically mentioned the black eye on the latter, and the acual fight at the set has me convinced they'll make a program out of it.

Batista and Booker T get into a fight?

From the Torch: -There is a lot of buzz backstage at Smackdown in San Diego tonight among wrestlers and staff over Booker T standing up to Batista last night. Booker is being perceived as the good guy of what was a legit scuffle, not a planned angle (despite widespread reports elsewhere). As James Caldwell noted in his update earlier, there will be more in this situation in the Torch Newsletter this week and in his VIP Audio Newsbrief scheduled to be posted later tonight. -WWE.com just posted a story with quotes from Booker T, which appear to be 100 percent legitimate in the sense that it's the same thing Booker is telling others in casual conversations. -Excerpt: "It was simply about respect, that's all I'm not going to say anything else about it. The fight had to do with respect. I have no ill will toward Dave, but I feel like he doesn't know the history of the business that's all. Maybe he should study the history. There's a lot of us who paved the way in this business for men like Batista. When I started, guys like Greg Gagne, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and countless others were in WCW. I walked in the locker room and had to earn their respect. It took me 16 long years, but I earned it. Respect isn't a right, it's a privilege … We'll never be friends. We'll never exchange Christmas cards. But I will work with Dave in the ring like nothing ever happened. It's not about us, it's about the company and more importantly it's about entertaining the fans. I'll never do anything to hurt our product." -WWE.com is saying they are still trying to reach Batista for comment. The plan is for Batista to be interviewed tomorrow to stretch out the website hits for this story. Well this is just damned bizarre. -
I haven't really seen a consisent answer yet. If that's the case then place Benoit, Show, and Kane and possibly Edge in the same category with all the others.
-
If by the strict definition of the original Grand Slam concept (WWE, IC, Euro, World Tag) its just three: HHH, HBK, and Jericho. If we're including the idea of having four championships at different levels (World/WWE, US/IC, Euro/TV, and Raw Tag/Smackdown Tag) then Eddie Guerrero, JBL and Kurt Angle qualify. Some would argue the Hardcore Title could be regarded as a [TV/Euro] equivalent so in that case Kane and Big Show could be argued as well. Benoit, Luger, Scott Steiner, DDP, and Booker T are all WCW Grand Slam champs.

Edge vs. Foley turned into a triple threat with returning Tommy Dreamer. Foley attacks Tommy and hands weapon to Edge the two double team him until Foley pins Dreamer.
-
Dreamer can still sell a good scream I give him that.
-
I'll call Coach interference for Shelton. edit: Within the next few weeks now I guess.
-
Jericho, with them counting him beating Chyna at Armageddon 1999, the co-intercontinetal reign, and becoming undisputed champ at Rumble 2000 as three different wins.
-
Spirit Squad are the new Kane. Nice RVD-Cena staredown.

It wouldn't be on WWE.com if it was a shoot, especially with Cole running things now. I'm not sure precisely where this is going though.
