Wrestlemania X8 just seems so forgettable to me. Its essentially a one match card (and Hogan/Rock, atmosphere or not, I never liked as much as others. Probably because I wanted to see Austin/Hogan at the time) and the nature of most of the other matches just seems so blah or thrown together (shampoo commercial issues anyone). Taker/Flair is good due to those involved, but otherwise the whole thing feels like it can be missed. 22 didn't do much for me either. Mickie/Trish is great and MITB II has Shelton stealing the show as usual, but outside of those and a fun Foley/Edge brawl nothing else seemed that impressive.

There's a match from Nitro circa 2000 with the Mamalukes vs. Knobbs/Finlay which while terrible and hardly noteworthy, I love simply because David Flair, Daffeny, and Crowbar (doing his best Gordon Solie impression) are all on commentary just being completely random. Also funny to see the chaotic camera work as Flair at one point gets on the table and starts dancing in front of Ms. Hancock and match is completely ignored.

Tenay and West kill angles by their insistence on talking over the most dramatic ones. (Though that may be the fault of the rigid script format.)

Any ideas on how quickly, if at all this affects the on-air product?

It hasn't been suggested because it's a terrible idea. The minute they try to get cute with the streak is the minute it stops being special and people stop being attached to it as much they are. Didn't claim it was a good solution. Just that with all the diverse suggestions on how to deal with Taker's streak, it seemed odd that no one ever thought of trying to utilize some technicality like a 2/3 fall match or 30 minute Iron Man, what have you.
-
I'm surprised no one's ever suggested Taker have a 2/3 falls match with someone at Wrestlemania. That way one could say they beat him at the PPV even if technically the streak was maintained.

So, Mickie in BunnyMania, or they stick Ashley out there with Maria?

That match would have bothered me a few years ago, but the booking on Raw and Smackdown is so top-heavy regardless, that I doubt it really makes a difference. The days of Russo booking where almost everyone on the roster is actively doing something are long gone anyway.

Well, at least Duggan and Haas made it out okay.

And to be fair, any time Lawler does wrestle a heel on Raw he's put over tremendously (some would say too much) and usually gets tremendous heat (see his stuff with Booker prior to the latter's departure).

If Burke does get in, and since Kane's a lock they'll probably feel the need to stick a monster heel in there to compete with the latter. Would be interesting at least to see how Khali or Henry work a ladder match.

Cena was cheered, but an undercurrent of boos could almost always be heard.

Shelton's already in. Kane's likely a lock given that he has nothing else to do, and they always try to give him something at Wrestlemania. If Chavo/Punk are still doing their thing after this week, I can see Miz and Morrison thrown in there, especially if they lose the tag belts to either Dreamer/Delaney or Jesse/Festus.

Good question... although I'd like to see Jake Roberts come back and try to get revenge for the squash Taker gave him at Wrestlemania VIII. they should dig up Giant Gonzalez since Taker only beat him cause he tried to choroform him to death and got DQed. You guys aren't thinking big. There's no better person for an Undertaker opponent comeback then... Sid.

Ugh, a lot of the music lately really sucks.

Nah, just the standard "Every man for himself" angle they run with the Rumble and battle royals a lot.

He comes from the Rick Rude school of wrestling.

What kills me about the 1966 video is that they found the one black guy in the entire movie for Lucius Fox's dialogue.

Just because I feel the need to pimp the greatness of Morrison and the Miz, here's the two most recent episodes of the Dirt Sheet. Dirt Sheet: Episode 3 Dirt Sheet: Episode 4 -
I am curious to see how a Curb Stomp onto a ladder would look.
