Then he must have had that concussion for last year or so.
-
What is it with hosses and pointed facial hair?
-
If the chapter is any indication of the book I'll say it was somewhat better than I was expecting, though I have my doubts regarding how it'll keep continuity.
-
Can we talk about the Trade a little more?
BorneAgain replied to claydude14's topic in The WWE Folder
Hmm... David Flair, Sean Stasiak, Test, Scott Steiner, Orton. Even ignoring kayfabe (Stasiak, Steiner) that's an interesting list. -
They won't waste Hogan losing before he faces Austin or Cena just to build up Orton. Randy will kill Paul Hogan before he does Hulk.
-
Not too bad a lineup, though I can't tell if Christian's a face or a heel.
-
What's the kayfabe reason for Jericho not simply be hired by Teddy Long on Smackdown?
-
If Cena does turn who wants to bet his excuses will be as good as Austin's post WMX7. (ie completely poor)

LOL, I thought I heard that. That was random as fuck, just makes me wonder who got traded to SD, though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hopefully Tajiri. edit: Damn just Chrisy and Stacy. What a worthwile trade.
-
Well close enough so I don't look like a complete fool I guess.

Hey, if Flair wins the IC title than he'll have won the triple crown in WWE/F and WCW, something only Bret's done. Hell they might have him win it just to do that. edit: No I'm wrong, I thought he won them with Luger as part of Team Package but he didn't, my mistake.

Cue the Randy Newman rip-off.

Its on the Bloodbath, Best of the Steel Cage DVD in case you're interested.
-
I thought it didnt come out till tuesday <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was in a Best Buy on Saturday and saw amongst the other WWE DVDs.
-
I'm not sure I buy that, as it doesn't include the One Night Only Match, and I've seen the DVD in stores and that match is listed. Plus Vince is named Mr. Machine on that list.

The Observer said the plan is to Rey in a program with Randy Orton and Eddy to start a main event program with Batista. For all the complaining about how bad the angle was between Eddy/Rey, it was the only thing that has kept Smackdown from plummeting in the ratings. It was the only television draw Smackdown had. I have to agree with Meltzer on Eddy Guerrero. When Eddy turns face again, he will be bigger superstar than he ever was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't know how reliable this is but... WWE was planning on having Batista/Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio/Randy Orton programs following Summerslam. However, it now appears as if WWE plans to go straight into the Batista/Orton program following Summerslam. Credit: PWInsider.com

Benoit beat Orlando via submission. 30 second squash. Edge beat Matt via ref's decicson as Hardy couldn't continue. Was short with few actual wrestling moves, pretty much a straight fight. Rey defeated Eddie in the ladder match. Mrs. Guerrero interfered and prevented Eddie from winning. Rey hit Eddie with the breifcase after the match. Angle beat Eugene in the invitational in less than five minutes. Orton beat Taker after a fan-disguised Bob Orton distracted him. Cena beat Jericho clean with he FU. Crowd cheered Jericho. Batista beat JBL after two Demon Bombs on the steel steps.

Sorry. I typed it before I saw your post.

First Half (US Title, Edge-Hardy, Ladder Match, Eugene-Angle) was nothing to write home about. Orton-Undertaker and Cena-Jericho were good and great respectively from what I understand.
-
I know they wrestled a few times in late 2001/early 2002 (with Jericho consistently winning)... Anybody else think its time they had another feud? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Other than Febuary-Early April 2000 they never really had another fued. They did wrestle a heel-heel match on Raw shortly after No Way Out in 2002 for the Undisputed Title, but other than that I can't think of anything.
-
So how will they explain Jericho's absence? Bischoff suspension because he failed to unseat Cena, and that now he's found a new perfect challenger (Angle) is my guess.
-
Disappointed is more like it. They guessed that Cena would likely win, and probably should for business, but they also hoped that Jericho might pull out a win.
-
I think at this point Summerslam as an event is officially the Twilight Zone in terms of crowd response.

The problem is that the booking of some of these short matches makes some sense, but they shouldn't be the kind of matches that are on a big four PPV like Summerslam. Benoit vs. Orlando in regards to happenings and endings should have happened at the GAB. He's a former World Champion and 20 year veteran, of course he could take out Orlando. Then we could have had Benoit vs. Christian, Benoit vs. Booker, Benoit vs. Regal, etc, here instead of the squash we got. Given the feud of Edge and Matt Hardy, it of course couldn't really be a technical match and as a knock down drag out fight it makes more sense to keep it short. Even Angle-Eugene, though it could have gone on longer, probably couldn't realisticly last too long either given Dismore's character, Angle's experience and his anger at Eugene. But like I said this was not neccesarily the place to do it.
