    The Simpsons Question

Once I can find a similar visual interpretation for "The Critic" I'll stop trying to top the previous sigs.

    The Simpsons Question

Caught "Homer Badman" the other day. One of the few episodes that makes me laugh just as much today as when I first saw it. On "Rock Bottom" Homer: Somebody had to take the babysitter home. Then I noticed she was sitting on [splice] her sweet [splice] can. [splice] so I grab her -- [splice] sweet can. [splice] Oh, just thinking about [splice] her [splice] can [splice] I just wish I had the [splice] sweet [splice] sweet [splice] s-s-sweet [splice] can. Godfrey Jones: So, Mr. Simpson: you admit you grabbed her can. What do you have to say in your defense? Homer: [looking lustful in a clearly-paused VCR shot] Jones: Mr. Simpson, your silence will only incriminate you further. [paused shot of Homer grows larger] No, Mr. Simpson, don't take your anger out on me. Get back! Get back! Mist -- Mr. Simpson -- nooo! Man: [quickly] Dramatization -- may not have happened. "Portrait of an Ass-Grabber" is great too. Ashley: No, Mr. Simpson! A cat is a living creature. Dennis Franz as Homer: I don't care. [runs it over] [crashes into some garbage bins] Franz: Now I'm going to grab me some sweet... Ashley: No, Mr. Simpson, that's sexual harassment. If you keep it up, I'll yell so loud the whole country will hear! Franz: [laughs] With a man in the White house? [laughs] Not likely! [laughs more]

    Smackdown *Spoilers* 2/19/08

It's going to have 8 spots. Ah, I see. So then: Raw: Jericho Kennedy Jeff SD/ECW Shelton Matt Kane Umaga seems to be only other guy I can think of for Raw. Hmmm, curious if they'll stick Punk, Chavo, or both in there.

    Smackdown *Spoilers* 2/19/08

Wouldn't surprise me if they stuck Matt in MITB IV. The whole match this year seems to be made up of previous guys anyway (Kennedy, Jeff, Shelton, etc) Curious if they'll stick Kane in there since he has nothing to do. Will this year go back to six or stick with eight?

I'm loving John Morrison and the Miz lately. Has to be my favorite random pairing tag team since Booker and Goldust. The Dirt Sheet featuring the Miz and John Morrison: Episode 1 The Dirt Sheet: Episode 2

Comments that don't warrant a thread

I've been looking for an english copy of Day of the Tentacle to download, as I've been stuck with both Swedish and Spanish during my recent SCUUM video game kick. Playing Indiana Jone and the Fate of Atlantis is like one big flashback to my childhood.

Who here hasn't changed their screen name?

Always been the same. Sig has gone through some changes, but the avatar hasn't been different for some time.

One of my favorite PPV intros ever, the cheesy, sepia toned video...

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

The "unreal" one reminds me of one of the Billionaire Ted skits. Executive 1: What about unbelievable, you know, not believable. Executive 2: Yeah, like Ted's Wrassling is not believable. Billionaire Ted: Look this is no time to start telling the truth.

Hmmmm, apparently you can fight city hall.

WWE Hall of Fame Candidates 2008

Pretty much any old opponent of Flair's (Steamboat, Dusty, Race) would work, or they might possibly go with a Reid/David combination. Probably going to be HHH, though. Windham's easy as they can just get Blackjack Mulligan. Blanchard I suppose could be Heenan, or they could try tracking Baby Doll down. Arn's tricky because either you use Hennan again or utilize another Horsemen who's not getting inducted (Ole or JJ for example) Old and JJ I have no clue, though I would chuckle if they had Jericho do the latter. Austin can do Pillman. Rude's odd because the only people I think of who one associates with him either are dead (Hennig) or didn't really like him that much. (Heenan) I'd just give Heyman a call, myself. Sure the Dangerous Alliance connection is a tad tenous, but Paul would do a hell of a speech. Paul Ellering's a given for the Road Warriors. Demoliton is completely up in the air. Certainly doesn't seem like Fuji's in a good state to induct anyone. I'd have to think it would be somebody from the current roster who's simply a fan of the two. Trish, Mickie, Candice, (any current Diva) would work fine for Tammy. Cue speech about how she paved the way for current female superstars. etc, etc.

    Wrestlemania 24

If there must be some kind of McMahon match, make it a six-man with Shane/Vince/Regal vs. Hornswoggle/Finlay/Foley. Shane and Mick can do the bumps, Regal and Finlay can stiff the shit out of each other, and you can close with some kind of comedy spot with Hornswoggle pinning Vince for the finish.

    Raw Is Cena - January 28, 2008

Oh my god, your sig sucks. It's just...staring at me. She doesn't look terrible, but I'm not liking the tooth-to-gum ratio.

    Raw Is Cena - January 28, 2008

Why? When you're just gonna take it off in a few seconds. If that's the case, then why should any wrestler wear anything other than their tights? Flair has a robe, Morrison has his coat, Miz wears a hat, Cena usually wears a hat, etc. And anyway, it's a BELT. I will say though, if the persona of the character demands them not wear it...or if they are a big fat fuck...then fine. Beth Phoenix and Randy Orton are supposed to be respectful to their titles at they care about. They should wear them. Stone Cold use to fling his belt around like trash.... Rocky carried his like a bag.... Two of the greatest WWE Champs of alltime seemed to give a rat's ass about the belt... They were the best and the belt didnt really matter... I didn't say I liked that they did that. Austin was supposed to be anti-authority though. He liked the title and he cared about it, but you could say he did that to just piss Vince off that much more since it was still Vince's belt in a way. There are some exceptions, like I said. I'll say this much, there is no reason why Randy and Beth shouldn't be wearing their titles, especially given how much Randy cares about being the best ever. It's RESPECTFUL to the title. Beth constantly holds the title above her head to show it off. As for Randy... eh its a style choice.

The hype for that match didn't make any sense then, and I can't say I'm unhappy that they're disregarding it.

    Raw Is Cena - January 28, 2008

Man, Kennedy's completely out of the main event scene. A return to SD would do him some good. Between the six guys in the chamber, Orton, Cena, and a returning Big Show, Raw is stacked as it is.

I miss Regal's old haircut. Sure this one makes him look younger, but the short hair was more heelish.

    WRESTLEMANIA

Arguably Jake Robert's most well known promo at Wrestlemania VI AKA "Wallowing in the muck of avarice." Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan's back and forth at Wrestlemania VIII over Indiana. -Brain: I'm Indiana's favorite Bobby. I could get the high school basketball team to win a game. Gorilla: You couldn't hold Bobby Knight's towel. Brain: Who? Austin's use of the Million Dollar Dream after four and a half year absence, and the Bret Hart callback via Rock's subsequent counter at Wrestlemania X-7. John Cena's Pre-Show promo at WM XIX. Paul Bearer's return at WM XX. The "return" of the old Shawn Michaels in his match with Vince at WM XXII. Booker, the egocentric heel, choosing to save Sharmell rather than grab the briefcase in MITB III at Wrestlemania 23. (Actually that whole match is full of great character moments with Matt egging on Jeff to destroy Edge, Finlay's reliance and subsequent concern over Hornswoggle).

    Bobby Lashley released

Agreed. The ECW run never felt right, and was too much too soon. Most of the stuff he ended up doing, (vs. Umaga at WM, Vince fued) could have easily been done while he was on SD.

    Heath Ledger dead

Well, this will be in somebody's sig before the day's over. I'm curious if The Dark Knight will be viewed in the same way the Crow will, what with it being Brandon Lee's last film, though granted the connection between that film and his death is much more strong than Ledger's with TDK, if one even really exists. Ledger already had a pretty impressive career at the time of his death, Lee was still breaking into the business. If it weren't for the fact they were both young male actors and their last finished role was in a comic book movie, no comparisons would ever be made. On that note, I'm hoping no media circus will emerge putting forth the idea that the Joker role somehow drove Ledger to his death, though from what I understand, some have already started suggesting something similar.

Worst excuse for a heel turn

Albert attacking Scotty 2 Scotty always made me chuckle. "He made me dance!" Vince turning on Rock at WM 2000 because Rock never thanked him for being a star was lame. I remember Big Show turned in early 2000, just because Rock called him a jabroni. Though Austin had an easy and obvious reason for turning at WM X-7, they did nothing with it post-Wrestlemania. I won't get into the nonsense of Rikishi's turn, which completely killed the momentum he had as a babyface.

Terribly inaccurate wrestling predictions you made

Thought for sure Foley would return as Dude Love in some capacity after No Way Out 2000. Booker would form a new Court on Raw with the likes of Shelton and Haas and challenge Cena one on one before the end of the year. Evolution would get involved in a War Games style match against the Raw babyfaces in either 2003 or 2004. Hurricane will end up facing a super-villain style heel. (Possibly Nova) Cena would turn heel in late 2006/early 2007. Kane's rampage in 2003 leads to him becoming World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE General Discussion - December 2007

I loved Gorilla but its relatively easy to like him now, when the vast majority of his work is being heard from select PPVs or Best of Videos and not constant weekly TV shows where certain weaknesses are being exposed.
