So there were these newborn kittens apparently abandoned in my backyard last week. I live next door to the cat lady, so that wouldn't be too unusual, but this time was worse. They were left in a kind of secluded area by the side of my house, inside an old bamboo trellis. Of course they couldn't see, and were just wandering around with dirt and other stuff stuck on them. But the crappiest part was how one of the kittens was stuck, HANGING UPSIDE DOWN BY ITS UMBILICAL CORD. I don't know how it could have gotten suspended there in the first place, let alone hanging above the ground. It probably got caught on the trellis or something. I just got some old clothes for them to sleep on and put them in a box. But anyway, the cat lady heard about it eventually and took them. I wanted to keep 'em, too. P.S. While I was looking at them on the ground, I saw two ladybugs doin' it. What they were doing, I don't know. I don't think it was sex, they were kind of attached by the BUTT and scurrying around. I don't know.

And the Bestern Conference seeding comes down to the end. Colorado just had to beat Nashville to still have a chance.

I hope Port Colborne, Ontario gets knocked out in the first - OH WAIT THEY DON'T HAVE A TEAM.

Also, the Sharks get the NBC game today against the Louisiana Kings.

So who finishes first in the Best? Ducks moved into first, but have the same amount of points as Detroit and have played one more game. For a while Anaheim would have played the Sharks in the first round, which is too good of a matchup and should be saved for the Bestern Conference Finals.

Last concert I attended: Alfred Brendel, performing piano works by Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and Beethoven. For, as Erik Satie said, the disadvantages of the piano are numerous, but its advantages approach the marvelous. Indeed, this concert was certainly no less than marvelous. As a critic so sharply pointed out, Mr. Brendel is an intellectual, and an intellectual's pianist, but he is not an intellectual pianist. This was a night of accessibility of the music of the great masters. As the coughing echoed and bounced off of the majestic chambers of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the music shined through, as it always will. This is music for the people, by the upmost of people.

I got extra tickets for the Kings game this Wednesday, if anyone wants to go.
