Oh man, seeing Tito's reaction when the Mexican crowd boos the shit out of him will be awesome. And we'll likely find out through Ken-Flo on commentary that he'll be fighting the winner of Guida/Huerta for a top contender spot in 2008. If Sherk's appeal is denied the winner of that will fight the winner of Joe Daddy/BJ, if Sherk is cleared then the winner will likely be second in line for a title shot.

It's Tim fucking Sylvia. He wins when we really dont' want him to. And after Nog's performance against Herring I'm not gonnna lie, he didn't look good.

    Best Song of 2007

Lil Wayne- Something You Forgot I mean, anything that can sample "What About Love?" by "Roxette" earns my respect. The fact that this song samples it well earns my love.

I doubt Randy fears anything. But fuck if I don't want a Fedor/Nog main event more then Tim Sylvia stuffing Nog's takedowns and jabbing and clinching with him for 25 minutes en route to a UD vicotyr.

Man, re-watching that fight I'm not as sure of the Griffin decision over Tavares as I was when I watched it. Going into the third round it was simple enough as Tyson had taken round one handily and the same could be said for Tavares in round two. Round three could be a draw or argued in the favor of Tavares but I'm not sure how Griffin could've taken it was he was more or less on the defense for the entire round fending off omoplata's, chokes and leg locks not to mention that Thigao was taking him down at will. The solution is thus: after the Gleison Tibeau fight Tyson Griffin has rematches with Edgar, Guida and Tavares.

Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin II "You get the feeling fighting Anderson Silva that it's only a matter of time." Usually Goldberg doesn't come up with good quotes but I really dug that one during this fight and it couldn't be more true. Respect to Franklin for coming out and exchanging for the first few minutes and doing okay for himself. Then, Silva decides that it's time. Spinning back kick. Clinch knees. Dodging and weaving the kicks and punches with impeccable style. Spinning back fist. Flying knee. Knockdown to end the round. Franklin comes out to start the second and you know it won't be long. The flurry Silva throws at him to finish it is, in the words of Joe Rogan (also describing Silva) is like a ballet of violence. And in the hometown of the man he just beat, Silva shows that he's the classiest fighter going today. Great fucking fight.

Aka Dana's meeting with Randy after Thanksgiving was either bullshit to begin with or didn't go well.

First documented fatality in regulated MMA

There's going to be pundits around whenever something like this happens but the truth was (and still is) that there are more fatalities in more popular sports . I believe this to be the first sanctioned death so the fact that this "dangerous" sport has gone this long works in its favor.

Gilbert Melendez vs Mitsuhiro Ishida is a GO. I luv that they're trying to recapture the awesomeness of BUSHIDO. In terms of K1 vs "PRIDE" style matchups there 's supposedly deals in the works for Kazuo Misaki vs Yoshihiro Akiyama and Tatsuya Kawijiri vs Andre Dida.

So it seems that Gono was none too pleased with Rogan's biased commentary in the McCrory fight. From his blog... "I began to find my rhythm with my leg kicks which are obviously all weak, powerless, and revolting, like pussy karate chops, without any weight in them. Certainly my kicks are nowhere near the kind power of like a Pete Spratt or a Thiago Alves as the commentator pointed out to you." Gonowned.

    Ultimate Fight Night 12

Swick/Burkman is a go as Mr. Swickotine has confirmed it. I'm not sure what to think about that fight. If Burkman wants to bring it he can be an entertaining fighter but when he chooses not to (ie. against Petz and Neer) he can suck the life out of a fight and with Swick being a total X factor @ WW this is a gamble to put in the main event. I personally think they should go with Cote/McFedries for the main.

Ben vs Dan is set for the finale. Guess Dana's banking on a repeat.

I see this fight being very similar to Joslin/Koscheck aka Dustin will have a very active guard and might come close to pulling out a sub but Koscheck will use his strength and wrestling to hold him down for three rounds.

Oh shit, Matt Hughes is just talkin' some king-sized shit on Serra up in hyah. Some excerpts from the UFC media call on Monday (at which Serra was not present)... On the downside of fighting St. Pierre instead of Serra: “It’s bad because I am fighting a lot tougher opponent than Matt Serra. There’s such a difference in competition between Georges St. Pierre and Matt Serra. Like I said before, Georges knocks Matt Serra out nine out of 10 times.” The upside of fighting GSP: “The good thing about the fight is that I’m fighting somebody I have a lot of respect for. I was really looking forward to fighting Matt because of what he said about me. It was easy to get up and hit the bags because I disliked him. I don’t have that hunger that I had before, but at least I’m fighting someone who is a good role model. People would rather see this fight than me and Matt Serra anyway. I don’t know how I will beat Georges St. Pierre, but I am a true believer that it is going to happen.” On Serra’s future in the UFC: “I would much rather fight Matt Serra. Georges is one of those guys that will always be around. He is that good. Matt Serra is not. If Matt Serra loses his next fight, he will probably lose his next and then be out of the UFC. If I don’t fight him soon, I probably won’t get to fight him at all. You have to remember the reason he was on the reality show was because he couldn’t make it in the UFC.” More on Serra: “Another thing I dislike is that I feel Matt Serra is getting the good end of the deal. If he had beaten me, he would have fought Georges again. Now, he is getting the easy way out and will be fighting just one of us

Hughes said on his blog that he was given a choice of Koscheck, GSP and Alves and chose GSP which tells us a few things... 1) Matt doesn't want to take the easy road so props to him for that 2) He doesn't remember the second fight 3) He possibly saw something in the Koscheck fight that he feels he can exploit and he's also likely taking advantage of the fact that GSP has four weeks to train for a five-round fight against a guy with possibly the best cardio in MMA.
