Mirko could make 205 but I'm not sure it's going to help at this point. He wasn't the killer they needed him to be against Sanchez, got smoked in every aspect of the Gonzaga fight and has now lost to a man who was beaten by Carmello Marrero.

A lot of people are pointing to the fact that Rogan kissed Bisping's ass in the post-fight interview with no mention of the decision as a sign that the end of the fight was set in stone.
-
I'll be interested to see the kind of heat (if any) Dana and Co. will get for the Bisping decision, seeing as because England doesn't have an Athletic Commission like in the states the UFC picked, paid for and flew over their own judges.
-
It's been out for almost a year now and it's fucking awesome. The dude who plays Grendel, for never saying a word of English in the entire movie steals the whole thing. Plus it's got Stellan Skasgaard and Gerard Butler and they're both good.

Ditto. They dropped the Vince/E conflict like this usually do when those things surface but I think this is going to come back at the end of the season when the boys, Billy and Ari go to Cannes for the Medillian premiere. I'll go one step further and say that since Billy is a direct parody of Vincent Gallo that they'll mimic when Gallo's movie The Brown Bunny premiered to horrible reviews at Cannes and his subsequent freak-out afterwards with Billy losing his shit when Medillian flops. Damn I'm good.

Anybody know how many fights Mirko has left on his contract? UFC is losing money on him like there's no tomorrow, considering for his debut against Sanchez he got $350,000.

I think referring to anything Kongo does as grappling is an insult to actual grapplers.

Reviews-wise, obviously. But did LIT actually make decent money? -

Scarlett, for all the hype she gets is not a big box office draw. Nanny Diaries, Scoop, The Island, A Love Song For Bobby Long have all done sub-par numbers. In fact, can anybody name a Scar-Jo movie that actually did well? -
When I was eighteen and spending my spring break with a bunch of friends from high school in Montreal a dude who was waiting in line behind us gave us the weirdest advice.... "If you see any St. Hubert's in Montreal, turn around and walk the other way. They only put those in gay areas." National Chain-Wise.... - The Keg - Swiss Chalet - Harveys Locally....... - Rubicon Grill - La Cantina Mexicana (who knew that fried cactus strips could be so delicious?) - Tomato Cafe on Marlee Avenue, just down the road from where I moved in. Tried their pizza the first night and my roomates and I laughed off any ideas of ever ordering from Dominoes or Pizza Pizza, both of which are in the area too.

Yeah, that preview had me going "OH SHIT" quite a few times, particularly when the one dude did a quick-as-fuck double leg shoot on the other guy in the bedroom and started brawling. Hughes spittin' truth on Serra is awesome. "He knows he got lucky."

- Good gravy Houston Alexander is one of the scarier dudes they have in any division. Just brutal. This was a step down for him after the Jardine fight but I think now they'll have to match him up with some of the upper-level 205'ers. - Damn, for one round David/Taylor was some good shit. I thought Marcus was done after the high kick landed but he hung on didn't lose focus of what his game plan was (which was to submit Taylor). - I don't hate Kongo or anything but Mirko just looked sad as fuck out there. Doing next to nothing during the third when it was obvious that he lost the second round, he let Kongo steal the fight plain and simple. - Holy bullshit decision. I mean, I knew that Bisping was a bit of a cock in the past but he took it to an unneeded level tonight. He got straight-up tooled by Hamill and now he's not only going to have to deal with the fact that not only everybody knowing it but that he looked like a complete and utter prick in victory. I wonder how long it's going to take him to realize that he got badly exposed by a newcomer in front of his home crowd? Knowing the attitude he carries around, the sad answer is that he probably never will. - Alright, the main event wasn't a bad fight by any means. It was good but there was something lacking. Maybe it was because both dudes know each other so well and had tons of respect for the other guy, maybe it was that so much was riding on the fight but neither guy seemed to want to do what was required to make a big impact. That was one of the more conservative Rampage fights I've seen and Henderson just died out in the later rounds. Still, a huge win for Quinton but the fact that they're marketing him as the best 205'er in the world is pretty laughable to me when there are two Brazilians waiting in the wings who've laid 3 of the biggest ass-whoppings in MMA history on him.

Pedro Rizzo stopped Jeff Monson via TKO in the third round of their Art of War title fight. The more notable thing on this show was ATT's Jorge Santiago tapping out Jeremy Horn via triangle choke in the first round. Horn hadn't been submitted since 2001 by Elvis Sinosic in the UFC- which, for Horn was 42 fights ago. -
Welcome Back, Cunter.

That line should be on a t-shirt. Though it must be said that Babalu will forever be awesome because he was wearing a t-shirt with his nickname on it when he was arrested.

No Toby, either. Fuck that.

Word out of Dan Hendersons camp in California is that Ryo Chonan has signed a deal with UFC. Chonan was rumored to be Mark Weir's replacement against Paul Daley for the 170 lb. Cage Rage title at their upcoming September 23rd show so it'll be interested if he cuts to 170 or stays at 185. I hope he stays at 185 as he's talented enough to put up a good fight against some of the upper-level MW dudes. -
So, I was a bit drunk during the show and kinda missed why Anna fired E. Is it because he lied to her as her manager because it would've benefited the movie he was producing?

Do they do grilled Pineapple down there? If they don't demand Grilled Pineapple. They bring it around like the meat on skewers. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Also, Chicken Hearts, love those little bastards. They don't do the grilled pineapple that the cheaper one I go to. But the more expensive one doesn't do Chicken Hearts. The cheaper one does. Who the fuck is eating chicken hearts? What kind of poor do you need to be to eat that shit? Black. .... I kid, I kid. But I wouldn't ever eat any thing's heart, except for maybe my worst enemy's. That being said, buffets are wonderful. Low prices, all you can eat- What's not to love? Low quality food not being cooked thoroughly and the risk of food poisoning? I've never been a huge buffet guy, mainly because I'm a smaller guy who can eat a fair bit for his size but not enough to justify some of the prices that are being charged. If anything I like buffets for the desserts, not the actual food.

From Josh Barnett's site..... "UFC Heavyweight title? Not in my eyes. Written by Josh Barnett Tuesday, 28 August 2007 Let's get straight to it and say that Randy did a phenomenal job at UFC 74 in defending his title. As a fan and a fellow Washingtonian I was happy to see him win. But as for the title itself -- it still sits in my house. No one in UFC ever beat me for it, and as far as I am concerned, no one in the UFC can be the heavyweight champion until they take that belt off of me in the cage. At the post fight press conference, Dana White said "there isn't anyone in the world that can beat this guy" in reference to Randy. All this because Randy beat a guy that had less than ten fights and only one noteworthy win? That's not even a world championship level fight, let alone reason to proclaim the winner as "unbeatable". This comment was made even more ridiculous by the fact that I was standing right there, living proof that Randy Couture is definitely beatable. "Unbeatable", Dana says. If he actually believes that, I'm more than willing to step into the cage and prove him wrong. It wouldn't even have to be for the belt. I already got the real belt. They can keep their pile of brass they purport as the UFC Heavyweight Title and put it on their next paper champ."

Owen Wilson rushed to hospital - suicide attempt
Lord of The Curry replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Aside from Zoolander, The Minus Man and his Wes Anderson roles every single movie he's in is Owen Wilson as.......OWEN WILSON! He's not untalented but he pidgeonholes himself in terms of his roles. Then again, that's what he makes a shitload of cash for so I can't say I blame him. -

It's more or less a given that Wanderlei is fighting Chuck on the Dec 30th card. -
The Babalu and Mir fights are up on DailyMotion. Heath/Babalu was a good fight, sucks that Babalu likely won't be welcomed back because he looked good here. Watching how much blood Heath lost I'm gonna side with Rogan's commentary which was that Mazzagatti should've stopped the fight. Then again, it's Stevie Mazz.
