I found the ocean views to be quite beautiful but that was pretty much the only saving grace of the episode. Peter telling Sara to do it because "she has strong arms" was hilarious. I see those two self-destructing before long. Hell, David and Mary might just have a shot based on the fact that their arguments are petty and last about 2 seconds.

Rob and Kimberly are going to go down as one of my more hated couples in AmRace history. I don't mind Sara but holy fuck Peter is a creep. Regarding what Felonies said in an earlier post, yes, the "bros before hoes" line is absolutely awful. When that song comes up on the iPod I instinctively hit next out of sheer disgust.

I love that The Others are going to be such a huge focal point of this season because it will (hopefully) flesh out some things from even back in season one that we still haven't got closure on. - What happened with Danielle and her crew? We've (or at least I have) been waiting for a Rousseau flashback episode since season one. Hell, we got a Desmond one, this shouldn't be too much to ask. - What really went down with the real Henry Gale and his parachute? - What relationship, if any, did they have with Kelvin and Rusczinski? - Why the jungle-peoples ruse, fake village and fake hatch? Who are they trying to fool and why? I read a Damon Lindelof interview pre-premiere that talked about us seeing things from The Others perspective when they first arrived on the island and it included the phrase "who was there before them." That should be some fun.

When Henry/Ben is first captured by Jack and Co. he's given some reading material by Locke. He asks "Do you have any Stephen King?", the same author Juliette was holding when he drops the "Guess I'm out of the book club" line. Part of me is wondering if what Ben told Jack and everybody about him having a wife who died was just a side of him venting.

Meh. Close enough. That opening sequence was fan-fucking-tastic. Awesome episode. - Jack's evil eyes and intensity were off the chain. - Sawyer's triumph over the machine. - HOTDRESS. - Juliette and Ben's relationship will be very interesting to explore and I look forward to Ethan and Goodwin cameos in the flashbacks.
