This is the same Hollywood where you can get caught doing coke and fucking teenagers and still make a decent career out of it. Why should Jew-hating be any different?

Have at it. V For Vendetta. Good movie, enjoyed it but wouldn't put it above MV. I can see why others would, though. Only thing I can see beating MV for me right now would be Thank You For Smoking.

So who's ass is Bas Rutten going to kick this weekend?

Are you the infamous Love Machine from DVDVR? That avatar and the Hughes love are my first clues -
Too bad it's Bud Light.

Sometimes people can give two shits about whether or not it'd be a "big win" and just want to see a good fight. In Tong's world of MMA, that's a cardinal sin it seems.

If he still had the tatoo? Hell yes. You'd care out of sheer fear.

Wes fucking Sims is your MMA awesome dude of the moment for throwing a dropkick in his WEC Ryan Bennett tribute show because it was something Ryan had always wanted to see him do. And he somehow also wins with a triangle. SIMS. -
I'm not sure why the last few posts haven't mentioned that Aleks vs Sergei is going to be fucking bomb-ass. 'Cause it will.

I've recently signed up @ the BK board and must agree that DVDVR is quite lacking. -

Ogawa vs Leko still looks fishy to me these days as Leko was a good kickboxer before his first PRIDE fight against Ogawa and the punch that dropped him looked like it wouldn't have phased an old woman, much less somebody used to getting hit. -
Aleksander Emelianenko vs Sergei Kharitonov has been added to this card as the alternate match.

A funny side-note to that is the extra features section of UFC 54 has Hughes and St. Pierre backstage after GSP's bitch-makery of Trigg. Hughes talks about the earlier fight in the evening between Prangley and Lutter where Lutter took two ballshots from errant Prangley knees. Hughes is kind enough to mention to GSP that if he ever caught him he'd give him time and GSP responds in kind. This lil segment makes their fight just a bit cooler. Not like it needed the help. -

And a low blow, essential in any intro-to-MMA fight. -

Coleman fighting in UFC was outed a while back by the Brit he's taking on, can't remember the dudes name but he trains out of Wolfslair Gym. I don't like the idea of Coleman fighting again before Shogun exacts his revenge but whatever. Just prolonging the inevitable. -

I imagine it wouldn't be too much to slip one of the bulldykes Yates shares the excercise yard with a fifty and tell them to shank her in the shower. -

Please. Shamrock would actually need to be on TOP of somebody in order to LnP them. -

I feel every new MMA fan should watch some LnP-oriented fights just so they can know the difference. -

The hardest part of being a new fan, at least it was to me, is appreciating the details and intricate things that make up MMA and more specifically, the ground game. It's easy for everybody to enjoy a good KO but it takes time to learn to love a guy being able to pass somebodys guard, mount and other types of positioning. When I was new to MMA I absolutely hated it when guys went to the ground because I didn't understand their motivation and reasoning. There's really no wrong way to start off watching. Go with whatever you like. If it's PRIDE that holds the appeal for you, watch PRIDE. Same goes for UFC, TKO and whatever else you dig. On most major promotions websites they have a roster list and a history of previous events. Read up on 'em. Take note of the SHOOTO fights that Lei Tong has posted at the top of the forum, some nice stuff can be found in there. As for fighters, here's a good list to start things off......... Fedor Emelianenko- Russian Heavyweight and current PRIDE HW Champion. Generally regarded as one of the best, if not the best pound-for-pound fighter in the history of the game. Combines excellent ground and pound with great standup and a very solid submission game. Georges St. Pierre- Canadian Welterweight contender in the UFC who will soon be getting a second crack at champion Matt Hughes' title come September. One of the most exciting fighters to watch and I personally have never seen him have a bad fight. Since losing to Matt Hughes at UFC 50 he's been on one of the biggest rolls in recent memory, dismantling most of the top WW's the world has to offer. Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera- Brazillian submission-based fighter who is a former PRIDE HW champ, losing the belt to Fedor in 2004. Incredible jiu-jitsu skill, coupled with freakish genetics that prevent him from tapping out or getting KO'd and an amazing array of subs. Before Fedor came along he'd all-but cleared out the HW division in PRIDE and would no doubt do the same in other promotions. There's a few guys to get you on your way. -
This will only lead to bad things.
-
What is your gut instinct when I say the words "Fedor" and "Emelianenko"? Be honest, now.
