Affliction: Day of Reckoning

Arlovski also can't deal with being pressured standing (Werdum was backing him up for shits sake) and I expect he'll fold like a pussy when Fedor brings the heat. -

Affliction: Day of Reckoning

"Arlovski has a sizable speed advantage over Fedor." Really? Because the handspeed Fedor displayed in putting Sylvia down was on par with anything Arlovski has ever dished out in his career. -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II
Lord of The Curry replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Why would UFC pull a publicity stunt on their most-aired special of all time? Just felt the need to be more greedy? -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II
Lord of The Curry replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I just hope this doesn't spark off conspiracy theories that UFC and the camera crew are favouring GSP or anything by editing BJ's interviews or anything to portray him in a poor light. If the bottom line here is that BJ fucked himself over by looking bad when he knew there were eyes on him then he's got nobody to blame but himself. -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II

Or what? If an article of the same ilk about GSP was posted you can be damn sure there'd be people around here who'd post it. It's a news report. This isn't me saying "So and so at this forum that knows this person said this". If the article turns out wrong or MMAJunkie retracts it I'll delete my post. Until then it stays. -
UFC 94 - Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn II
Lord of The Curry replied to Mik's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Despite solid ratings for Spike TV's first installment of the three-part "UFC Primetime: St. Pierre vs. Penn II" series, at least one participant was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in the piece. A source close to the show on Tuesday told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) B.J. Penn recently shut down a taping and interview session for the series and no longer wants involved in the project. Penn was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in last week's debut of the series, which hypes a Jan. 31 UFC 94 main event fight between the Hawaiian fighter and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Penn, the UFC's current lightweight title-holder, looks to become the first-ever UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously when he fights for St. Pierre's title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. "Primetime," a nearly $2 million project that airs in 30-minute blocks on Wednesdays from Jan. 14-28, follows each fighter as he prepares for the fight. During the Jan. 14 debut, Penn was sometimes portrayed as a fighter who didn't take his training too seriously – a reputation that's long dogged the 30-year-old fighter. In the latest taping segment for "Primetime," Penn cut short taping just eight minutes into an interview, the source said. A message left with Penn's publicity representative wasn't immediately returned. The second installment of "UFC Primetime" airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST/PST on Spike TV. Last week's "Primetime" debut scored a scored a 0.73 household rating and had an average audience of 880,000 viewers during its initial run at 10 p.m. EST/PST. An immediate replay that aired at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST scored a 0.53 rating with 614,000 viewers. It currently ranks as the highest-rated "UFC Countdown" show in UFC and Spike TV history. -
Most pathetic death in 24 history.

The Simpsons episode where Homer fights Drederick Tatum was on last night and man that one is a banger. So many awesome lines. "Hey come on fellas, shut up" "Sorry champ" "It was Jerry". -
100 a week is insane. I can usually get everything I need for a week at around 40 bucks.

I need to start a "TSM Weight Gain" contest. I've been hovering around 145-150 for the last 3 years and I'm 5'9. -
Between this and GSP/Penn Primetime it's a good nght for tv.

The goddamn Toronto Maple Leafs. I alternate between telling people at bars that I'm a Habs or Senators fan just to get a rise out of them.

The Upcoming Shows/Rumored Fights Thread
Lord of The Curry replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Sherdog is reporting that UFC has made an offer to Cro-Cop to return at UFC 99 in Germany. Weird choice of opponents mentioned though, Tito and Machida. Tito is a no-go as he refuses to move up to HW and they're still feeling out Lyoto dependant on how he performs against Silva. Word is that if he impresses he'll be Rashad's first challenge at LHW. If he's boring they'll continue to make him fight without getting a title shot. -
Or even a combination episode like they did with Sun and Jin last season.

The CBS feed I was watching online was nice and subdued. Nobody was trying to be the star.

dubq's comment has made me feel the need to point something out: Your personal theories are NOT spoilers, thus there's no need to tag them. The only things in this thread that should be enforced as a spoiler are items that have been confirmed to happen on the show, not something you think will happen. It just makes things less confusing this way and it'll prevent people from thinking things are going to happen when they aren't.

My boss just called me at work and made sure that I'm watching the inaguration and told me if any clients come into the store tell them that the store owner said they can wait. One of the many perks of having Bush-hating Iranians as your bosses.

My black roommate is picking the drinks tonight for our inaguration binge. Good thing he likes the same type of booze I do with the exception being his disturbing love for Innes and Gunn oak-aged beer which I don't understand.
