I was just referring to YPOV disputing whether Diaz was dropped by any of the fighters he named and Nick was very much dropped by Gomi. -

So that vagina Gomi opened under Nick's eye was a result of what? -
Mohinder figured out that all it would take is a modification of the adrenal glands to activate peoples abilities- basically saying we all have it in us, we just need the formula to activate it which is EXACTLY what Hiro's dad told him about and what Scar Peter showed Present Peter. Now that I think about it if they're made out to be seperate stories that's going to be even more confusing.
-
Another thing that didn't make sense is the whole "formula to transform everybody" storyline. Are we to assume that Mama Petreli and Co. don't know that Mohinder has already figured it out? Or is this another formula entirely?
-
They also could've taken a step or two in explaining exactly WHY Peter is considered a terrorist in the future. And yeah, I like many of you have been wondering if this show is going to be a continual loop of "Save the World, Go to the Future" over and over again. Is the message here that no matter what something bad is going to happen?

Also Daphne's powers came off as incredibly lame during a combat setting. Yes, she's fast but the rest of her body isn't reinforced to deal with the speed which means if she's coming in at __ miles per hour throwing fists at somebody she's almost guaranteed to break bones. What would've made total and complete sense is her throwing shit at high velocity towards somebody with her crazy spinning arms. Bullets, for example. Or knives.

Oh yeah. Good call, been a while since they've done that kinda shit.

Diaz has some good wins but has been way too hot and cold throughout his career. For every Lawler or Gomi there's a Denny or Fickett. Alvarez, since dropping to LW has shown the skills and consistency to take Nick out. Don't get it twisted, Diaz is one of my all-time favorites simply for the fact that he's rarely, if ever in a bad fight but I see Eddie hurting him bad in this one. -
So this episode was good but not great. It did enough to forward the central theme but the rest of it fell kinda flat. - Marlo vs Sylar after offing Sylar's kid was awesome. - Parkman's storyline is the future is pretty lame. - I can't be the only one that noticed that the magnetism dude who broke out of Primatech was in the photo with Nikki/Jessica/Tracy? - No Noah Bennett = Bullshit - How did Future Scar Peter get put down by a few bullets? Fun ending, though. Hiro teaming up with Adam should be good.

The Amazing Race: Season 13
Lord of The Curry replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
I think they could take it, provided something incredibly physical doesn't come along. They seem unlikely to argue, have good smarts and (being nerds and all) are usually thinking ahead. As of right now no one team stands out for me as "Oh, they're going to win for sure" like other seasons have -
Glad to see I'm not the only one digging this show, really cool concept and I like this it's dispelling the traditional vampire myths while creating some new ones. I don't see Sam being a werewolf or anything, not sure if I want the show to go that route. I think he just hates Bill because he knows that Sookie can be more herself around him then anybody and I just chalked the bed-smelling thing up to a weird obsession thing. Something is for sure up with the dog, though. It's like it's either protecting/observing Sookie or maybe even something like it's a reincarnated human. Oh and Lafayette is the MVP of the show, easy. The AIDSBurger rant last night had me rolling.

I agree that a longer build could help the interest in the fight but with the possibility of Elite going down like the Hindenberg looming they should strike while the iron is hot.
-
Correction: porn star nudity. And I also totally got a Busey vibe from the E.R storyline.
-
I also think Cyborg vs Carano is a foregone conclusion. Every single one of Gina's opponents up until now were making their debuts in the promotion and on the last 2 shows they've went out of their way to showcase Cyborg and both times they got an opinion on her from Gina. I'd say we see that for their first womens championship* in 2009. *I know Elite has a hard-on for her as many of us often do but even their biggest supporter should be able to see the risk in putting Carano in a title fight with her weight-making issues.

I think YPOV's been a bit testy ever since the Hawk battle in the EliteXC thread. -

Is that a fucking joke? I thought when you didn't realise BJ Penn was once the best LW in the world you just hadn't been watching MMA that long, but it sounds like you just have a really shitty memory. Diego Sanchez, Karo Parisyan and Takanori Gomi all SCREAM hello. Robbie Lawler tried, but he's kind of retarded. I meant at LW but yes I did forget the Gomi victory. I'd still put Alvarez taking out Dida, Hansen and Kawijiri in 8 months up with Diaz beating a lethargic Gomi. I'd also bet the house that Gomi stomps Diaz in a rematch where it to happen. -
The Amazing Race: Season 13
Lord of The Curry replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
I think Spiff nailed it, Terence and Sarah's complete obliviousness to the small things are going to cost them big-time as the race goes on. And yeah, as hot as they may be (and they are HAWT) the divorcees are fuckin' dunces. Anybody watching that show last night at some point or another had to have thought "Maybe this was why you're not married anymore." Southern Belles are next to go. -
This episode definitely made me bust out by "Goddamn I wish this show was an hour" rant.

So GSP has become the first ever MMA athlete to sign with the Creative Arts Agency whose clients include Tony Hawk, Derek Jeter and LeBron James. Their sponsorship partners include Coca-Cola, Sprint, e-bay, Mattel and Harley-Davidson. What's French for Ballin' Outrageous? -

I could be alone in this but I see TJ Grant getting called up, so to speak not before long. I imagine an octagon debut before the end of 2009 isn't outside the realm of possibility. -
Why the shit did I have to actually have to search in order to bump this thread? Anywho, tremendous stuff tonight. I'd say best of the season and some really nice character reveals. I'll say no more for a minute because I assume not everybody has seen it yet.

Terrence totally shitting himself when Ken was behind him was great as was the subsequent apology. -
