Lord of The Curry replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I didn't see any of his WVR fights but he looks the same like in PRIDE. Best part of the night was far and away Ishida's DOPE armbar. This is going to make some year-end lists. -

Man, Riggs vs Misaki has to be one of the worst ref stoppages I've seen in a long, long time. The fight was absolute shit but Riggs got boned badly on that one. -
Got home with a couple 650 ml bottles of orange peel ale and of course one of the roommates is all "Let's hit the bar". Of course I could save the booze I bought for another night. But I won't.

Televised Card on SpikeTV Main Event: Nate 'The Hate' Diaz vs Josh 'The Dentist' Neer Clay Guida vs Mac Danzig Houston Alexander vs Eric Schafer Ed Herman vs Alan Belcher Kyle Bradley vs Joe Lauzon Wilson Gouveia vs Ryan Jensen Undercard Drew McFedries vs Mike Massenzio Jason Brillz vs Brad Morris Alessio Sakara vs Joe Vedepo Rob Kimmons vs Dan Miller Pretty underwhelming show despite a fairly solid undercard. They're (I expect) banking on this doing well as the lead-in for the new season of TUF but there's nothing for me besides the main and co-main that stand out. And Jesus H. Christ how the fuck is Alessio Sakara still employed? Quick Predictions Diaz, SUB Guida, DEC Alexander, TKO Belcher, TKO Gouveia, TKO Lauzon, TKO

Yeah, they mentioned on Inside MMA last night that Carwin is the only big HW with close to the wrestling pedigree that Brock has. -

If Bisping is a coach I DEMAND we get the return of Ross Pointon as his assistant. -

Bisping is an obvious choice but I don't know how well he'll do as a coach. He's only been a MW for 2 fights and never looked A+ as a LHW. -

Over in the UK there's reports coming out of The Sun that assuming he beats Leben we'll see Bisping as the head coach for Team UK on the next season of TUF, the same article stating that Dan Henderson will be the coach of Team USA. Interesting choices, Andy Silva victim of the past vs Andy Silva victim of the future. -
When hot girls come into my store. Being that 90% of clients are in the 40+ set seeing a supple 21 year old brings a tear to my eye.

Hopefully not. 'Letters to God' by Boxcar Racer came up on my iPod randomly today and fuck can that guy throw down.

I haven't read anything recently. Where'd you see that? I don't think Overeem has the wrestling to get Mirko to the ground nor the skills to sub him.

Thank God my HDNet feed was restored and the PVR is fired up so I can come home from work on Tuesday and peep this. Predictions for the fights I care about Sakurai TKO's Hironaka Cro-Cop KO's Overeem Mighty Mo KO's Sergei Tokoro wins somehow in a super-fun fight (as his last few have been) Jacare sub's Zelg Mousasi decisions Manhoef Mousasi decisions Jacare

That's the way I see it with Ignatieff. The "common voter" doesn't really view him as a Canadian seeing as how he's spent a good 30% (if not more) of his life living outside it.

Do so. Most of the fights aren't great but it's got mad Fedor sightings and as I said, gully shit. -

Clearly that chubby radio show dude (who was a cool guy) was in between GSP and Carano to prevent Gina from dropping to her knees and feeling da riddum. GSP's reaction to the elbow dislocation was hilarious and his laugh when Kenny was mocking Gina being disgusted was so nerdy. Mik- Did you check the M1 Challenge show beforehand? Two GULLY knockouts on that show. -

EliteXC has stripped KJ Noons of his Lightweight Championship for refusing to defend against Nick Diaz. Clearly The Hate's comments at Ultimate Fight Night swayed their decision. -
Okay, things GOING to Mexico I'll cop to but in terms of actual Mexicans....nah.

Our Agriculture minister is a cruel, hilarious bastard. Harper's not gonna cave and fire the guy no matter how much bitching goes his way.

Not sure, actually. I didn't see many "general public" looking types in the crowd for the Diego vs Riggs show in San Diego so it's very possible that "For The Troops" means just that. -
Both Great Lakes and Kawartha Lakes do some good shit, especially in the fruit-centric areas of beer. I still can't believe I've lived downtown for over a year now and have yet to tour the Steamwhistle factory. It was such a glorious day when they came out with tall cans of that goodness.

Struggled mightily = not giving credit to MacDonald's toughness. He got put through a grappling rape-fest that most guys would've succumbed to much earlier. -

Never in trouble? Dude, Belcher rocked Herman more then once, especially in the 2nd round but never captialize on it. And agression is a judging criteria and in this case Belcher showed hesitancy to finish when he had a guy hurt. I don't think playing it safe when he has a chance to end the fight should be lauded by judges. And even though he backed Herman up with a good punch Herman was still never in any danger of being finished. Belcher, on the other hand was caught in a d'arce and if there had been more then 20 seconds left when Herman mounted him would have been toast. -

That's pretty much what I meant. I'm aware that the trio of Silva Victims is a big step up for Maia but I can't see how beating Nate Quarry is going to advance his stock in the division all that much. Oh and after the type of performance he put in against Phalhares I think Maia would have more then a decent chance at beating Hendo. -
What would come first? Would you Suffikate a Celebrator or Celebrate the Suffikation? On the beer front I tried an orange peel ale from Great Lakes Brewery in Northern Ontario and it was quite pleasant.
