Black Yeti? Awesome. -
Agreed, actually. The relationship between him and Iceman was far and away the best on the show.

I have taken to pronouncing Martin Kampmann's last name like Christopher Reeve on South Park pronounced Gene Hackman's last name. It's buckets of fun. -
So, no Canadian should be eating at Subway right now due to the Maple Leaf meat recall. Just a heads-up. Ditto for any Shopsy's deli meats.

He punched his face in last time they fought. Nick should try and make the weight before wanting a title shot We won the 1st round, Nick Diaz is known to start slow... And he won by a cut, and Diaz is known to get cut up in fights because of his scar tissue. I take nothing away from KJ, he won fair and square but there is still controversey surrounding it. If KJ really thinks he is that much better then Diaz, why doesn't he take the fight? It will be an easy title defense according to him, so why not? It will help him build his name beating Diaz twice. His manger is a fucking idiot to. This is the same moron who made Vera sit on the sidelines for a year, when he was ready for a title shot. I love Nick Diaz but I saw nothing in his last 3 fights since Noons to make me think he'll beat him. People seem to think that Diaz's cut materialized out of nowhere or was caused by a glove or accidental finger. They seem to forget (or choose to forget) Noons completely stuffing all of Nick's shots, walking through his pitter-patter standup and blasting him standing and on the ground. -

The winner of Sanchez/Alves is getting the next title shot after GSP/BJ either way, they'll problay wait until late March or early April. And the reason Randy got the shot wasn't just because of lack options, but because of Randy's popularaty, and he would generate a lot of money like Penn/GSP 2. The rematch between GSP and Penn has been almost 3 years in the making, and there is no better way to have it then as soon as possible. BJ Penn has proven he is head and shoulders above anyone in the UFC lightweight division, by utterly destroying one of the best fighters in the division who could possibly be a champion if BJ wasn't the champion in Joe Stevenson. Also embarassing and dominating the only threat he had at the division in Sean Sherk, making him look like a C-level fighter. So why not have the top fighter from the Lightweight division fight the top fighter from the Welterweight division? In boxing usually fighters who were champions at a lower weight class who decides to move up in weight at another division, gets immediate title shots, if they are in a top level fighter (I.E. Floyd Mayweather Jr) like BJ Penn is in MMA. I see no reason now. It's the best possible fight, so make it with everything on the line. I know GSP himself wants to prove he is the champion by beating the best, which is BJ right now. Well, that's the thing. Like you said, GSP's possibilities of making 170 are slim so either BJ keeps the belt if he becomes WW champi on or he vacates the LW belt after one defense. Stellar options. When everything is on the line for both dudes I'll see the fairness here. -

I guess the fact that I like divisions and champions within said weight guidelines of those divisions isn't obvious enough by now. Yes, he beat Serra and Sherk but that was at 170. Serra in terms of being a relevant LW is years removed anyways. -
Awesome.

I don't remember you bitching when Randy got a title shot after he retired after Chuck whoop dat azz... Randy's title shot was due to lack of options. Vera's contact negotiations were stalling, Mir was fresh off getting dusted by Vera, Gonzaga hadn't killed Cro-Cop yet. UFC could easily throw the winner of Sanchez/Alves against GSP and either would be more deserving then BJ. Mik- Am I being out of line or ignorant with any said comments? I've said many, many times that I respect the shit out of BJ and think he'll be a huge problem for GSP yet any time I make a valid point it's "Oh Curry, get GSP's dick out yo mouth." I would hope to God that Penn fans would make the same arguments if GSP were instantly awarded a title shot he hadn't earned. -

I have no issues with BJ getting a title shot if he beats a ranked fighter within the division. Regardless of what people think about his fights against GSP and Hughes the dude is 0-2 in his last two 170 lb. fights. The rationale amongst a lot of Penn fans seems to be "Well, BJ would beat ____ so just give him the title shot" which might be true but he still hasn't proven himself worthy in that division. And Lindland commenting on anybodys face should never occur considering he's one of the uglier men in MMA. -

Really? I thought all former champions would be worthy of another title shot when they actually, ya know, beat somebody in that division who'd make them a contender. Silly me. -
