I don't think any team would try a sign and trade for Ben after his playoff run, especially since he's an UFA, but the Pistons can't max him out. I don't know if he would take a hefty hometown discount, but that's the only way they can make the money work with Billups and Rip coming up on what are sure to be near max deals at worst.

*clutches original Mighty Ducks jersey* It doesn't fit my arms properly anymore, but it's now a collectible. Woo.

Phat Albert is likely to miss anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Let the freefall begin.
-
No worries, he's gone fishing. I won't say a word about him until next April at the earliest.

I just felt like bringing this exchange back Dallas is better without Nash. I'll also go out on a limb and predict that Phoenix will be worse with Amare next year. He's gonna eat into minutes of guys who got them this far, and he demands too many touches. And let's not forget they were a Tim Thomas miracle 3 away from losing in the 6th game of Round 1 and Nash will be a year older next year. I'm gonna say Dallas in 7, though I'd like to see Miami in 6. Either Dirk or Wade will get # 1, so it's win/win for me.

Because all that cap space and other moves they made equaled no compesation.... But they lost a 2-time, back to back MVP and got better. When has that ever happened in the history of the NBA?
-
Funny how Dallas loses Nash and Finley with no compensation in consecutive years, and then give them both their fishing rods while heading to the NBA Finals for the first time.

There's no crying in basketball!

Both should have been flagrant fouls if they tried to land a heavy blow on the opponent's skull instead of making a play for the ball. In a Dickie V. game, I'm surprised neither got tossed from the game.
-
I am guessing you just turned to the game. Yep. I was watching the Mets salvage a game in a horribly played doubleheader. I got here just in time to watch Phoenix implode. Good times. Good times.
-
How was that not a flagrant on Barbosa? He threw a flying lariat at Howard's head.
-
It's Dick Vendetta's crew. You can expect T's, and shitty calls all night long, all night, all night long. I'd love for the Suns to choke this one up just because I would end up missing Game 7 due to a commitment I can't break.

The Mets win 3-2 on a sac fly! Praise be to God, the Mets executed a sac fly!

I think we might find Kaz Matsui's corpse in the Shea Stadium parking lot one of these days. He's going to get killed by a fan sooner or later. Pujols is a great guy, Clemens is the one everyone should hope pulls up lame and misses the season. I don't want him crippled or anything, I just want the Astros left holding the bag because I'm sick of him and his "will he, won't he" BS.

Milledge goes to the plate like he'll automatically be out after 4 pitches whether they're in the zone or not. He makes Jose Reyes 2005 look like a model of plate discipline. Tie game bottom 8, Reyes on 2nd w/no out. Of course the Mets do not score with Lo Duca/Delgado/Wright. I hate this fucking team right now.

You're preaching to the choir. Willie's a douche when it comes to trying to steal innings from guys with nothing left. All he ends up doing is stealing losses. What difference does it make if the pen has to go 3 or 4 as long as you get the 'W'?
-
The Mets blew another lead, and a chance to get two men into scoring position as they do not score with 1st and 2nd and 1 out in the 9th against Fire Marshall Benitez. These dudes have no fundamentals whatsoever. I imagine this is what it's like being a Cubs fan.

It's ursprAche, and I memorized how sprache was spelled when I learned German for a while back in JHS.

Just make sure Baez doesn't pitch today.
-
Fucking El Duque gives up an RBI triple to Pedro Feliz with slothlike Barry Bonds on first, and a 2 run HR to a rookie making his debut to give San Fran a 5-4 lead. Willie of course left him in too long to "save the bullpen". There's no way the Mets will do any damage in September and beyond with this testicle managing the club.
-
Pujols hurt an oblique muscle, and Cardinals Nation is sending up prayers that he's not going to be out for a while. You might be able to replace Edmonds or Rolen, but without Albert they'll be as offensively successful as the Cubbies without D. Lee.

I know we discussed this within the last month or so, but I'm more confident than ever that the Big Eunuch will not win 300 games. He's been horrendous all year and is lucky to have a couple of the wins he does simply because the Yanks scored 6+ runs.
-
Even with most of their starting lineup out (1 first ballot HOFer, a guy who may get in especially if he hits 500 HRs, a former MVP, and a guy who is good for 100 RBI every year) they still have one surefire HOFer, and 3 other multiple time allstars in the mix. That's why people hate the Yanks.
-
The Mets fail to score with a runner on 3rd and 1 out yet again. I asked before, but does anyone have that chart that shows the likelihood of scoring with the different baserunner/out scenarios?

The second game should be on SNY based on what I saw earlier on their little scroll thing at the bottom of the screen.
