Considering that many scholars view Jesus' sacrifice as the New Testament version of Abraham being told to do the same to his only son Isaac, it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that Judas was similarly told to sacrifice Jesus. The obvious difference being that God stopped the Old Testament test, but allowed his own son to be sacrificed. I don't want to bore you with details, but there are parallels which can be drawn from the two stories.

I'll definitely try and get down their during the first season to get the full experience. It's interesting that they'll be punishing lefties/opposite field power righties with those dimensions since that's essentially the exact opposite of the wheelhouse of the current team. It's possible the 300' down the line isn't a typo, but I hope it is. I don't want any "Yankee Stadium" homers down the RF line.

The streak is officially over. It was a good run, but I would've preferred to see it end in the same season it began.

Simon hasn't decided to put his muscle behind anyone yet. I think by now he's usually picked the person he's going to back. I think that's the issue he's having. It's like he wants to pick Chris or Katharine, but is afraid to do it.

Fair enough. I was looking at the lowest strata of geek then. It's been a while since high school, but I remember that all of the nerds stuck together and did their nerdy thing. The jocks, preps, jewish american princesses etc all did the same as well. Anyone who didn't fit in anywhere, or was alone 90%+ of the time became my visual of a geek. I guess anyone who watches TAR, or uses the logic you have would classify the hippies as geeks, I wouldn't because they actually seem like cool guys and I think of geeks as being the people that most everyone else avoids.
-
How can a geek make a nerd look cool or vice versa? It's like bragging about being the tallest midget.
-
So basically you're a geek and took offense with what I had to say. I think that pretty much says it all.

I'd heard about this before in a Christian Theology class I took. The main purpose behind the denouncement of the other gospels was to make Jesus look as sympathetic as possible. There's more of a sense of betrayal if Jesus knew what Judas would do and yet sat there in silence and accepted it, as opposed to telling Judas to do it to fulfill his destiny.

Geeks are socially awkward people, often with (due to?) a general lack of intelligence/common sense. Nerds are their smarter and/or somewhat more well adjusted relatives. Nerds tend to have friends (often other nerds). Geeks are usually loners. Anyone who goes to those anime conventions by themselves is a geek. Bonus points if they're in costume. Nerds go with all of their other nerd friends. Geeks practice kissing in the mirror, on their hand, an inanimate object etc. Geeks often have livejournal or myspace accounts where every detail of their life is blogged. Anyone who is emo is a geek, because emo people can't have friends. See the 2nd "rule". I could go on, but I think the point is clear. It's somewhat OK to be a nerd, but being a geek is not cool.

The only difference aside from the obvious one you addressed is that Edge wasn't groomed to be a ME talent from the get go. Orton and Cena were, and by God they're gonna get there and stay there, even if it's bad for the company. If Vince did business the way Vince used to do business those two would be curtain jerking, wouldn't be nearly so hated, and wouldn't be in over their heads as they are now. When the business model changed to "we'll push who we want and the fans WILL accept it", instead of the other way around that's when the WWE began its downward spiral. Since Steph and HHH seem to follow that same logic, I don't see things changing unless something tragic takes out all of the WWE braintrust at once. It's sad that's the answers are there but they just choose to plug their fingers in their ears and go "NA NA NA NA NA NA we can't HEAR YOU!".

Jeter will atleast put the ball in play. Putting the ball in play on a groundout and striking out is the exact same thing. Both would lose the game. If I'm down by 2, and there's a guy on 2nd, I'm taking A-Rod. Different argument. I agree with you on that one since Jeter only hits cheap "Yankee Stadium" homers. If you just need a single to win, Jeter will get it 10 times more often than A-Rod will. Jeter's whole (vastly overrated) reputation is based on timely hitting, not power. A-Rod just goes nuts in meaningless games as evidenced by his marks in this series. In the win, 3-5 with a BB, 2 runs, HR, 5 RBI In the 2 losses, 2-8 with a run and 4 K's Series total 5-13, HR, 5 RBI, 3 runs. Anyone will take a .385 series with a homer and 5 runs knocked in, it's just a matter of when A-Rod does all of his damage. I will however cease to mock him about it since it's not really going to change anyone's perception of him. I just know that the vast majority of Yankees fans don't trust him in a big spot and that's ultimately what he will be judged on, since he is still scorned despite the fact that he can fill up the back of a baseball card better than almost everyone else that ever played the game.

Remind me which guy is named Mr. November? Ask Yankees fans who they'd pick. You sound like an idiot here. No one on the Yankees team except A-Rod would put A-Rod up instead of Jeter in any position where the game or a title is on the line. I repeat, you sound like an idiot here. The Big Hurt just put this one out of reach with a 3 run double.
-
Just on the Yankees. . . Jeter, Sheffield and Matsui and I hate the team. But if I was betting money, those three would get the hit. A-Rod would strike out, pop out, or ground into the game ending DP. I guarantee if you asked diehard Yankees fans in NYC which of the guys in the lineup they'd want at bat in that situation A-Rod would be at or near the bottom since Damon and Posada would probably be ahead of him as well, and that's indicative of his reputation in the clutch.. In MLB, I'd go with Bonds, Pujols, Vlad, Ortiz, Manny and those are just the star players I can think of at almost 1 AM. I'm sure there are many more guys who people would easily put up if they had the choice.
-
Everyone knows that the Mets have sucked long and hard for 2 decades. But they aren't favored to win anything ever so it's OK that they don't. A-Rod is supposedly the best player in the AL but he does a total of jack and shit in the clutch. Cano just booted a ball to give Oakland a 5-4 lead. The middle infield errors have led to 4 A's runs.
-
Until he ends up beating Angle or Undertaker, or jobs the title in less than a month. Then he will be the Mexican variant of Cena as his pandering will just lead to louder boos in the future.
-
It's against the A's so it almost doesn't count. Imagine my shock when A-Rod whiffed with the go ahead run in scoring position. If it was 13-2 Yankees he would have nearly hit that shit out of the stadium though.

I agree with pretty much everything you wrote. The ironic thing is if Vince hadn't been so adamant about removing Brock's name from the fictional record book as the "Youngest Heavyweight/World Champ EVAH~" Orton might have had time to develop properly. At the very least they wouldn't have hotshotted the title onto him only to completely kill him a month later. Granted, they will never cut him, but it's become increasingly clear that he has no value in terms of moving merch, lifting buyrates/TV ratings, making matches more memorable or exciting. He's just a homegrown project that the WWE machine destroyed and can't or won't accept that the experiment failed. He'll get another 2 or 3 lackluster title runs and continue to stink up the upper card for at least another few years. The WWE is going to be in a HORRID place once the few legit guys they have move on. Who exactly is going to make them any money when guys like Cena, Orton, Carlito, Masters, Lashley et al are expected to be the headliners?

Nice to see that the Messiah's error on a sure double play ball has cost the Yankees 3 runs here. It would be worse if not for Matsui and A-Rod making nice defensive plays following his snafu.
-
I got home just in time to watch Wagner remind us of the '05 Mets, and now Giambi's making accurate throws to second starting a DP. Ugh. At least I go to see the Cubs lose earlier.
-
Um, I thought we got rid of Braden Looper. Apparently his spirit lives on in the Mets bullpen.
-
It seems I was almost right with my prediction today. I don't have any problem with Mandisa going if I infact read you guys right. She hasn't been good the last couple of weeks and her look worked against her. Ace or Bucky MUST go next week though.
-
That, and it's one thing when a 5'3 guy beats top guys every now and then, but it's not easy to suspend disbelief when Rey is the World Champion. I said this would happen, people thought I was just being a hater, but now it's happening because the novelty act has worn thin. Having him take Angle's title was also right up there with turning Orton face just after winning the belt in terms of destroying any momentum the new champ would have.
-
Considering he's been pushed strongly forever and STILL isn't over, what more can they do? Even if he got the HHH treatment people still wouldn't give a shit about him. It's Randy's fault that only gays and women don't fall asleep when he's out there busting out the chinlock or the same promo he's been cutting for the last few years.

I think McPhee's more attainable because most guys wouldn't make a run at her because they'd assume she's taken and/or not interested. "Mall hot" girls are the ones every schmuck out there thinks they can get and are in reality harder to hook up with. I learned all about that in college as I stopped going after the 6's and 7's and had much more success with the 8's and 9's. It doesn't seem like it makes sense, but I encourage people to try it provided it won't break up their marriage/relationship.

I know that if you make the top 24, you can't audition again. I think anything short of that cut is OK provided that you still meet the age requirements.
