    College Hoops 2/27/2006 - 03/12/2006

Oklahoma St. just got hosed by the referees there since the guy walked before he was "fouled". You can't call that with 0.6 seconds left on the clock.
  2. They're up already, although not fully detailed.

    This week in the NBA

Once the talk about this team and this team only goes on for a month, then it's at that point. All we'd need to do is convince Cena's Writer to root for the Lakers. Aside from him arguing that the worst deals imaginable are positives I don't think there's a lot of Knicks fanboy behavior here, it's just that he ends up taking on 10 guys at once all of the time because he's got those orange and blue glasses to look through.
  4. When the male judges say something along the lines of that was a mediocre or passionless effort and then still give you a 9, I'd say they were doing their very best to stack the deck. They did it more than once too.
  5. Rig? They undeservedly kept giving her the best judges scores which ensured she would stay unless she got the least amount of votes from the public. She finally ran out of luck today.
  6. That was an awesome swerve. The judges did everything they could to rig the contest in her favor, but the people gave Stacy the thumbs down.

That would be awesome if we ended up with the Los Angeles Kings of Anaheim.

    Torino Winter Olympics Thread.

Americans don't like winter sports. Americans don't even watch the winter games unless we're hosting them. I don't even care that we won medals because I don't know any of the athletes personally and I'm not a "patriot". I'm just anti-Canada in this thread because some of you guys spread it on so thick. Just be content with serving as our protection from the polar ice caps, and everything's copacetic.

If you Canadians hadn't gagged in the men's hockey tourney you might have tied the awesomeness which was the disappointing US squad. Even when we suck, we still do better than Canada's best eh.

    Bode Miller

It showed that even a colossal failure can become a star. That should inspire you to believe that all things are possible, provided that you don't actually want to be a star and just want to let people see that doing your best is the only satisfaction you could ever need.

This week in the New York Knicks

It was nice to see Gilbert Arenas drop 46 on the Knicks in just 3 quarters. 13 losses in our last 14, with the lone win being a 2 point victory over Toronto at home. Going even further back the Knicks have now lost 19 out of their last 21 *thumbs up*

More Official TNA House Shows on the Way

Thoughts? I hope that the 6-time NWA Champion thing with JJJ was a typo, and not a longterm plan because as far as I know he's only been champ 5 times.
  13. When Vince starts getting multi billion dollar contracts to air WWE TV, then the wrestlers can get paid on par with top athletes.

Who is Cindy Klassen and more importantly why should an American care about some Canadian? [/NBC brass]

This week in the New York Knicks

Kobe wanted the "challenge" of winning without Shaq, so I feel absolutely no sympathy for him. I prefer to call the Lakers the Western Conference LeBrons, or you can make the Cavs the Eastern Conference Kobes if you prefer.

A lot of idiot GMs started handing out max contracts like they didn't mean anything. I blame the Bird rule which allowed you to go over the cap to resign your own players. All of these dudes ironically became albatrosses because of their contracts, so I guess that's some kind of wierd poetic justice.
  17. Keanu Reeves also has some box office hits in his back pocket. Stacy doesn't.
  18. I don't disagree with what you're saying, I just don't see her becoming a huge star regardless of what path she chooses. I hope she does what you suggest though, because it would mean I'd see less of her on a regular basis, and in my book that's a good thing.
  19. Very much so. It's the whole bubble thing where some fans live in a wrestling bubble (or music bubble like you cited) and cannot fathom that someone from their bubble can succeed outside of it, hence gems like this... I don't like Stacy. I think she should have been fired years ago, but that doesn't answer the simple question, what exactly can Stacy do outside of televised dancing competitions or modelling that plays to her skillset? She won't pose nude, so that route is out. She's NOT a good actress, and by June or July when the next new fad of celebreality (credit: VH1) hits no one outside of wrestling fans will care what she's doing.

This week in the New York Knicks

Francis is a strong dude, 200 lbs of compact muscle, he doesn't get posted up easily. He's also listed at 6-3, not 6-1. Nate's listed at 5'9 and looked to be Spud's height when they stood side by side. Everyone's always said Francis is shorter than his list height, and there's a difference between not getting posted up by the opponent's point, and the opponent's 2 guards. He will be guarding 2's on the Knicks since Marbury can't, and guys like Wade, T-Mac, Kobe etc will be feasting on him in the paint.
  21. When you are on the road 250+ days a year, have to fly to "exotic" locations for dvd/magazine shoots, pay for your accomodations, car rentals, along with regular stuff that we all have to pay for (mortage/rent, bills etc), she has no health insurance. That shit adds up and 6 figures? Mysterio, doesn't even make 6 figures. But Rey can still by his clothes at a children's store, or wear his son's hand me downs so he saves quite a bit there.

This week in the New York Knicks

Francis is about 6'1, who exactly is he going to stop on defense? The Knicks are going to get torched by any backcourt with a post up game until one of those two undersized combo guards get traded. If it's possible, I think the team will actually be worse off in the short run as Francis will not be allowed to be himself and that pretty much negates the point of trading for him in the first place.
  23. I maintain that Joe needs to lose cleanly a couple of times in the X Division before they move him up, because they don't have a deep enough roster to feed everyone to him and then try to build those guys back up after Joe squashes them. The Orlando audience loves Joe now, but if they try to have an undefeated run through the entire top of the card, I don't think it'll work nearly as well. Since he's locked up for a few years there's even less of a rush to get him to the World Title, and they need to make him have some flaws BEFORE he wins the strap, not after.

    Survivor Panama- Exile Island

I'm guessing Ruth Marie and Melinda really wish they'd given Cirie the boot when they had the chance now. That one stupid decision changed the game almost as much as Shane's hastily made alliance has. I still think they're just playing it up because I can't see any of the four siding with Bobby, Bruce or Cirie.

This week in the New York Knicks

dear god, that number is obscene, especially for a team that bad. I'm just thinking what we (Pistons) could be like if money was no thang the way it is for the Knicks and we could just spend and grab bad contracts with reckless abandon. Our bench would be Mike James, Mehmet Okur, Corliss Williamson, Michael Finley (we were in the 'sweepstakes' this summer, coulda offered much money) to go along with Delfino and McDyess. It must suck to only have 4 All-Stars and the most balanced starting five in the league while making it to the Finals in back to back seasons. Stop being greedy and worrying about a bench that doesn't even need to play! Instead of getting "Pistons type players" Isiah decided to get the coach no one on your team wanted, and he's really paid immediate dividends by crushing the confidence of most of our rookies and demanding that we get Marbury's clone to play in the backcourt alongside him. I always hated Larry Brown before this season, now I just wish the old fucker had just retired. The two ex-Pistons employees in our front office have done more to damage the Knicks franchise than anyone outside of Scott 'Worst GM of all time before Isiah' Layden and the Dolans. Odom looks like he's trying to stay in LA beyond this year, I guess the trade rumors scared him straight. Artest is looking positively Shaq like in his conditioning.
