Added two critical words to your sentence. I fail to see how trading for picks from the Spurs or Nuggets will help the Knicks. This idea that "1st Round picks" help the team when they're in the 20's is just silly. Larry Brown has already said David Lee won't be shit in this league, so realistically what guys are the Knicks gonna get in the 20-29 range that will see any more PT than Lee does? Those picks are worthless, but Isiah doesn't care because people like you will see the bright side in every horrible deal he makes, and sadly his bosses fall in that group. As long as they claim that $1.7 million every time they open MSG for a home game, the Dolans don't care if the Knicks win 15 games a year or 50.

The Knicks don't make good trades and end up dumping all of the picks they made. Everyone thought the crop of Sweetney, Lampe & Vranes (?) was a decent start. Not even 3 years later all three are gone. It will not surprise me at all for Frye, Lee & Robinson to be playing elsewhere in 3 years because unless Channing's a moron he will be counting down the days before he can escape the Garden. If you can't keep players you trade for, and keep adding years you'll never get better, but maybe I'm wrong and the Knicks are secretly getting better every year when our record and cap situations get worse.

The Pacers, Mavs and Kings haven't won any titles, and the Pistons have at least 5 players better than anyone on the Knicks right now. Marbury likely wouldn't even break their rotation and he's the best we can offer. More importantly, are you really saying that the Knicks are "trying to win" now? If that's their example of trying to become a championship team, then we easily have the worst management in the history of pro sports. The Knicks have no players that are even all-star caliber yet we keep swapping for parts we already have at greater money/years. This is not a roto league. Francis doesn't make the team any better. Adding money doesn't make the team any better. Taking it on the chin for a couple of years, clearing off the cap damage that's been done over the last decade and trying again at that point is the only way the Knicks will succeed because we will NEVER get a legit stud through trades because we have nothing to offer, and being morons we end up getting draft picks from championship level teams that will not contribute in any way. If you're cool with your team being mired below mediocrity for 20 years, that's great, but I'm not. There is absolutely no reason for the New York Knicks to easily spend more money than any other team in pro hoops, and end up exactly 1 game above the worst record in the league, which is held by a fucking expansion team just getting their feet wet. Please stop defending these lateral moves that don't result in anything positive for the franchise. When the Bobcats and Hawks can potentially field a better squad than the Knicks, it's officially time to panic.

The team sucks. The team will continue to suck until they stop trying to rebuild on the fly. Adding Francis means they win maybe 30-35 next year, and the year after that. That doesn't help the Knicks in the short run or long run, and the idea that the cap doesn't matter is one of the main reasons why the Knicks will not see success until next decade at the earliest. You can't win now and build for tomorrow at the same time, and quite frankly the Knicks have sucked at trying to do both for far too long now.

What type of wrestling fans annoy you?

I think that the main problem with the people deemed "too negative" is that the majority of them realize that quite simply put, the product could be a lot better if they just paid attention to the audience. As far as the WWE is concerned, fans have not reacted that strongly to Orton for years now yet they are determined to "make him a star". On the flip side, the fans have been rabid for RVD since he got there, and yet that doesn't matter. RVD might suck ass as a champ, but we'll never find out because the WWE will never cater to their fans unless it's in their gameplan. What's the point of caring about a product when the people in charge don't really give a shit what anyone outside of their offices think? If most people honestly felt that the WWE was doing the best they could, I don't think the heavy criticism would be there. But for years now, they've had some of the best rosters they possibly could and yet we still get guys like Orton, JBL, Masters et al at or near the top of the cards despite the fact that no one outside of Stamford really wanted them there. In the '80s when they had a bunch of big interchangeable slugs, it was fine if that's all they could think to promote, but clearly most modern fans want something different every now and then, and as long as they watch WWE programming they won't get it. When the "top face" in the company gets booed by 50% of the crowd for months at a time, and the heel they're grooming to be their future doesn't get booed by 50% of the crowd most nights, it's pretty clear that something is wrong, but the WWE just don't want to fix it. -
I really don't think they're calling enough penalties (20 in 45 minutes) in this Finland/USA game [/sarcasm]

Did you watch this year's AO final? I bet Justine's tummy wouldn't have been hurting so much if she wasn't down 1-6 0-2. That's the main reason she's on my "list". I still like her game and respect her achievements, but she could have stayed out there another ten minutes and lost properly without hurting herself. Any benefit of the doubt I've given Clijsters in the past went out the window the minute she decided she could come back from "torn" ligaments in less than a couple of weeks when there was speculation she'd miss at least 2-3 months and that was on the conservative side. It's nice to see that the SI crew was able to CGI in some boobs for Semipova.

HHH already buried Edge when Cena won the title back. I just wonder how long the delay will be between the Pedigree at WM and the actual cover attempt. I don't think he'll go for the Booker T treatment, but I'm sure Cena will have to lay there like he took a shotgun blast to the face for at least a good 30 seconds while HHH celebrates.
-
I'll go the other way and say Show hits RVD with a chokeslam, HHH Pedigrees Show then tosses him out of the ring, waits for RVD to get up, Pedigrees him as well, taunts the crowd as he takes his sweet time to make the cover, and then buries nearly 800 pounds of humanity in one minute's time.

I will have to concede that Clijsters is completely full of shit, as is her compatriot Henin-Hardenne. It's just sad that those two feel the need to rely on gamesmanship so much when they're more talented than everyone else playing right now. I'd like to see Mauresmo win here to keep things rolling, but I can't see her surviving this field after being pushed pretty hard in Paris this past weekend.

The absolute last thing they need to do at this point is have Rey start using Eddie's catchphrases.

I absolutely hate fans that state that their enjoyment of the product is weakened when they get online and see that a wrestler/show/match/promo/angle etc that they like(d) was called shit by others. To me that's the very definition of pathetic. -
That's the best news I've heard about Rey's push since it started. Let's hope Meltzer's right.
-
The saddest thing is the USA and Canada would probably still whip every other team's ass even if it was 5 on 4 for the whole game. I think the American women have more time of possession on PK's than the other teams are able to generate even with a one or two man advantage, and quite frankly that's pathetic.
-
Are there any reports of a large group of people walking out to claim their refunds? That's about the only thing that would have been worse than getting buried by a blizzard and miserably failing in living up to the unneeded hype.
-
When does the show start? I'm just curious how much longer it'll be before we find out what the announcement was.
-
To be fair though, the USA game wasn't very close in terms of level of competition even though they didn't start to blow the Swiss out until the 3rd period. Wendell had some highly impressive moves though.

1975 49-33 2nd, Atlantic Division. They won 46 in '75, 45 in '92, 43 in '79, 42 in '74, and 41 in '93. Those are the only 6 seasons they've been at .500 or better since 1971. I knew the Clips sucked, but I didn't know it was quite THAT bad.
-
I was about to ask that myself. I also want to know why they more than likely plan to bury Mark and MNM and then build to a Taker/Henry match at 'Mania, but then I remember the WWE could not give two shits about logical booking or Rey wouldn't be willing to sacrifice a WM Main Event in a match that doesn't benefit him in any way.
-
You can't have Rey win the WHC at WM and have the crowd chant Eddie for 10 minutes either. They're screwed no matter what they do now.
-
I'm the one that said Rey's a scumbag for agreeing to get a monster push in Eddie's name. Orton just strikes me as sleazy in his own way, and well Vince is only being Vince. I guess Rey's character isn't as strong as certain people like to believe anymore, because at this point I don't put it past him to do anything they ask him to do because he's only in it for Rey. The sooner he drops that fake ass front that he's doing this to honor Eddie, the better.
-
So you think he's a bad person because he said gays go to hell. He thinks you're a bad person because you're gay. So should you be expecting cancer soon too?
-
Karma. Kinda looks like you think he deserves cancer, but that's just me.
-
So is Mrs. Guerrero or the eldest daughter going to screw Rey and align with Randy? That's about the only thing they could do to make this abomination of an angle even worse.
-
Yes, and that's exactly why Isiah probably covets them both. It doesn't matter to him if 2 guys play the same position or role as long as the Knicks "increase their assets" or "get younger".
