Nice to see Lashley progressing up the ranks. [/sarcasm] How much longer can he compete with the dregs of the roster before the fans get bored?

I'll bet that Nate and/or Lee will be sent out in a package with Mo Taylor in the offseason so that the Knicks can get another 30 year old scrub making huge money. Mo's contract would come off of the books next year, and by God the Knicks shall not try to come close to the cap when they acquire more ASSets and low first round draft picks.

Rey sucks. I will cheer eagerly when he loses his title shot. . . but then I'll remember that it means Orton got it instead, and start to cry.

2000 50-32 2nd, Atlantic Division Lost East Conf Finals 2001 48-34 3rd, Atlantic Division Lost East Conf 1st Rd --- the end of the "glory days"--- 2002 30-52 7th, Atlantic Division 2003 37-45 5th, Atlantic Division 2004 39-43 3rd, Atlantic Division Lost East Conf 1st Rd 2005 33-49 4th, Atlantic Division What about the last 4 years gives you any cause to be optimistic? Keep in mind we're like $100 million over the cap, have a shitty team and currently have the 3rd worst record in the league at 14-30. The Knicks don't have a single player any GOOD team would trade for. They don't have a plan in place as evidenced by taking in Q and Rose in trades, signing Jerome James and digging the hole even deeper. The Knicks shouldn't want to be lovable losers.

I hear you man. I hear you. Knicks fans are just too fucking optimistic when there's really no reason to be. It'll be at least 2010 or 2011 before they even sniff the 2nd round of the playoffs, and probably a decade or two before they clean this situation up and contend for a title again.

$17 million and a 33 yo player Larry Brown hates for a 20-25 overall draft pick. I don't think it gets much worse than that honestly.

Just saw these nuggets in an article on CBS Sportsline. * Rose is due $17 million next year. * The first-round draft pick New York would receive will be a 2006 choice originally belonging to the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets are currently the # 3 seed in the Western Conference so that pick will likely be around the 20's. Yeah.

The idea was that you were able to go over the cap to keep players in the same cities. However, as salaries kept going up and up and career backups/scrubs like Jerome James started getting $5-6 million per those guys ended up getting traded. Since Knicks management is stupid they would trade a guy who makes $5 million with 1 or 2 years left for a guy who makes $5 million with 4 years left. So in 2 years, the other team has cleared that money while the Knicks are right back in the same boat as they have a guy getting $5 million with 2 yrs left on his deal. Then rinse and repeat. Once the Knicks developed the reputation for having the dumbest GM (Layden) in the biz, they got fleeced over and over again. Layden didn't help his cause by giving a one legged jump shooter $100+ million over 6 or 7 years which he was allowed to do because Houston was Knicks property. As of now the Knicks are one of the only suppliers since they have so many shitty contracts on board, so every other team looking to get rid of some dead weight, or looking to take on a $10 million player with one year left have to go to/through the Knicks. Sadly even with supply and demand being what it is, the Knicks keep taking three steps backwards for every step forward. I guess $150 million sure doesn't buy what it used to.

I get that. But the Knicks then seem to decide "well, since we're $100 million over, let's make it $115". Then "well, we're $115 over so let's make it $130". $130 to $140 etc etc. Instead of trying to whittle away at the cap, they keep bringing back shitty, shot players for huge money and end up eating extra years too. If they'd traded someone with extra years for an expiring contract it wouldn't bug me, but adding another deadweight player AND $15 million for a draft pick on a team that already has Ariza, Lee, Robinson & Frye stifled on the bench doesn't really make me think that it's worth it. Draft picks don't help a team unless they play and you can only bench so many 8 figure a year players at one time before the fans say "fuck it, I quit".

Basically they paid $13-15 million (Rose's salary for next year) for a 1st round draft pick. Is there anyone in the draft this year or next worth that much? The idea that because the Knicks are so far over the cap that it shouldn't matter that they keep digging the hole deeper is precisely why this team will be a league laughingstock for another decade at least. Layden was a fucking moron, but Isaiah isn't much better. The fans who shell out exhorbitant amounts of money to go see the Knicks play are really the ones who need their heads checked though.

    This week in the NBA

Why do you think taking back Rose who's making $13+ million per for the rest of '06 and another year is a good deal? Davis would have come off of the books at the end of this season and cleared about $10-12 million from their cap number. All we end up getting back is even more distance between us and the cap, and a pick that won't really help the team. I fail to see how this did anything good for the Knicks. It seems like Mr. Thomas just likes to trade for the sake of making trades. You can't build a winning team around midlevel draft picks who don't play and 30+ yo $10+ million/yr players who can't play.

    Britney Spears is pregnant- AGAIN

Well about 75% of the female population in the US does, so that's not saying much.

    Britney Spears is pregnant- AGAIN

Britney was never that good looking. Maybe living in NYC I'm spoiled, but on any given day there are many girls her age that I could see that would have put Britney to shame even before she became a fat, chain smoking slob.

    Survivor Panama- Exile Island

Cirie eliminated 4 players with that one vote because her team is going to be looked at as morons as soon as they show up without their one decent player to the next challenge. I never understand when people start playing final four tactics during the first couple of eliminations. None of those chicks will even make it to the merge now, but they were all worried about who was a threat instead of surviving until the threats would be eliminated by the collective group of weak players that make it to the merge.

Honestly, I'd perfer Camby over Yao if I was a GM. The only thing Yao is good for is global marketing, but I don't really see how that matters for at least 24 of the teams in the league since most teams aren't in huge markets anyway. Of course, if Camby was still on the Knicks he'd probably be behind Malik Rose in the rotation, so you never know.

Number one contender tournament on RAW

RVD/Kane, Flair/HBK would be a better tourney so I expect all four to lose leaving us with Carlito/Masters, HHH/Show.

    Survivor Panama- Exile Island

Word. Three city bitches that have no clue how to survive in the wilderness decide to vote out a lumberjill. Fucking retards. The black chick completely killed that team by reacting to a threat especially since she is physically weak on top of being wilderness inept. The remaining older women better hope that the Survivor staff merge the tribes by the end of next week because they will be eliminating someone then as well if they don't.

    Sting = Ratings

The Quark reference was great, but the Ferengi money is latinum not platinum. But kudos for making me laugh at that one. TNA needs to rely on well known commodities to bring in casual fans and aside from Jericho, Rock & Goldberg there aren't really any to be had who can work matches. Sadly, all three of those guys would really be too "big" to work the midcard and none would want to be Jarrett's bitch so you get the 'B' team.

    The X division is broken

I hate to agree with Leena on anything wrestling related, but I think she's right. Joe needs to lose a couple of matches before he moves up to the heavyweight division just to get the fans accustomed to how he will be used once he gets there. I don't think that the emphasis on the X-Division needs to be dropped completely, but they can't make Joe so much better than everyone else on the roster that he becomes JJJ with some workrate because that will get played out too.

I'm still bitter that Phil Jackson didn't call off the dogs against his old team in the "Mecca", though it was nice seeing Kobe get cheered on the road for once just because it reminded me of the WWE in Montreal.
