  1. True, I'm just thinking that it would be silly to have Henry built up like a monster and then kill him off in a 5-10 minute match which is basically what I see happening on Sunday. The only way that they could easily have him maintain his tenuous spot aside from what I said earlier would be for Rey to win the Rumble, and have Henry fight him for the title shot at NWO considering his recent record against Rey. I don't think either option is good mind you, but at this point SD can't really afford to make another heel look like shit considering the recent damage done to Orton & JBL.
  2. My money is on Lashley having this spot...in fact, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see him single handedly eliminating Kane, Big Show or even both. I think they'll sacrifice Bobby to Mark Henry again to give both guys something to do once Henry's moved away from the top of the card. Will he eliminate one of those two before then? Possibly, but I still think he'll have less of a run than any of the other hosses on the roster. Having said that, they'll probably let him be one of the final four to spite me. Mark Henry is also participating in the Rumble? I say it's 50/50 that he gets the last SD spot or replaces Booker if he can't work because there's really no benefit to giving it to The Undertaker if he's going to lose. Henry could easily lose a quick match and then get one of the last spots and get his heat back by tossing out a fan favorite or two. Granted that's not likely but you never can tell with the WWE.

    How I Met Your Mother

I really think that the premise for the show is silly. The big reveal ends the show because the whole drawing point is the story of how he met their mother, not how they built a life together, had kids blah blah blah. How many dozens of false finishes can you have before it gets redundant and boring? I think I would like the show a lot more if Robin and Ted didn't have the combined likability of day old bread. Everyone else on the show is cool, but the two main leads just suck the life out of me. The only reason I watch is that there's nothing else on at 8:30 that I wouldn't be joining midway through after watching the King of Queens.

  5. I think they'll try to put Masters over midmatch in a "cleaning the ring" type spot while they'll save Carlito for the end to eliminate RVD *cringes* to set up that program.
  6. HBK is going to be # 1 with Vince picking the numbers. The 30th guy will be Carlito. The winner will be # 11. I don't really want to try and figure out the rest since I'm guessing that the WWE hasn't come up with a plan of their own yet.

    Raw rating

http://www.geocities.com/odainnurse/r06.html You can see archives for the prior years there. I'm not going to do an analysis but I don't see any large jumps from week to week at the start of the year for at least '04 and '05.

    Backstage news on CM Punk

The way I see it happening is Punk goes on a lengthy losing streak just to prove that the "King of the Indies" isn't up to par with anyone in the WWE. It seems like the stupid shit the McMahons would try, so I could see it happening.
  10. Something like that happened in my high school where a girl who was well known for being "slutty" accused a teacher of sexually harassing her, only to later reveal that she lied and brought up the charges because she was failing the class he taught, and he wouldn't let her do extra credit. So because she wouldn't study, she nearly ruined a man's life. The guy left the following year because his reputation was destroyed over some bullshit allegation, while the girl simply went to summer school studied for 6 weeks and passed the class.

    This week in the NBA

Useless stats are often better when they're true my friend. Elton Brand 24.4 PPG .519 FG% Chris Bosh 22.4 PPG .502 FG% Kevin Garnett 22.2 PPG .531 FG% Shawn Marion 21.7 PPG .515 FG% Tim Duncan 20.0 PPG .500 FG%

    Australian Open.

That ending sucked though I think Clijsters would have lost regardless. I feel bad that Mauresmo didn't get to win that won on her own, just for the confidence. However, not having to play an extra 15-30 minutes might just be the best thing for her. Clijsters seems snakebitten with injury, though she's fortunate that there's nothing really big on the schedule until March 6th so she's got about 5 1/2 weeks to heal.

    Raw rating

At least Edge can feel justified in knowing he was champ for a (brief?) ratings resurgence. Cena's got to feel like shit right now.

I got a bit nervous when Justine gagged on that 5-3 game, but thankfully she put an end to this one quickly and probably made Sharapova feel even worse about the loss, since she was serving to even the set. Barring a miracle Justine's about to win her 5th Slam in a couple of days.

That big herpes sore by Sharapova's lip is distracting me from the actual tennis. However, Justine has been absolutely amazing on the defensive end here.
  16. How can you fire a guy for allegations, especially when he was physically assaulted afterwards? That's a monstrous lawsuit waiting to happen if he's proven to be innocent.

    Kobe or LeBron

Kobe must really be fooling the masses here 3-time All-NBA Defensive First Team: 2000, 2003, 2004 2-time All-NBA Defensive Second Team: 2001, 2002

    Kobe or LeBron

There's no doubt Kobe's not in the top 10 pure shooters, I was just curious why you would post stats that indicate Vince is the lesser shooter to back up an argument that he's better. Scoring prowess can be argued, but shooting stats don't lie. Fair enough.

    Kobe or LeBron

Um, isn't not taking God Awful shots a sign of a good shooter? Good point on the three point shooting, but minus Shaq, Kobe isn't shooting better from anywhere than Vince. You're making my point for me. If Kobe takes bad shots, and still makes more than Vince, how can Vince be the better shooter?
  20. naiwf

    Kobe or LeBron

I hate to belabor the obvious, but if Vince shoots threes at a higher clip than Kobe by 6 points, but Bryant STILL has the better overall percentage all that means is VC is even WORSE at shooting the 2 relatively speaking. I don't really see how you can say Carter is a better shooter with a lower percentage of shots made and Kobe's penchant for taken God awful shots at least 5-10 times per night.

    Australian Open.

Exactly. Clijsters was awful yesterday and won on brute strength which just doesn't seem to work nearly as much on clay. I don't think Martina will be worried about playing wherever she can this year and by the middle of the year you know there will be at least a few people sitting out, and at least a couple walking wounded near the top of the women's game. The only player in the entire world right now who I don't think she can beat even if she plays her best in a big spot is Henin-Hardenne and that's simply because Justine is Martina 2.0, or the version with a good to great serve. I don't see any way for her to compete at Wimbledon or the US Open so it's realistically the only big tourney left this year she could really do well in and I hope she can at least match this week's performance there because the women's game desperately needs something marketable besides Sharapova's panties.
  22. I really just don't see why they go out of their way to encourage Eddie chants during Rey's "big moments". Winning a championship for a friend is noble and all, but not when it becomes the whole story. Seriously, if they put the belt on Rey the crowd will chant Eddie's name, and I just think that's a pretty fucked up way to begin your first and maybe only reign as champion. I don't want to see it, but the WWE rarely gives me what I want, so it doesn't really matter here.

    Australian Open.

I really think Hingis will be one of the favorites to win the French if she's healthy. As long as she's not on the same side of that draw as Henin-Hardenne I think she'll be very tough to beat on that surface.
  24. Germans are like Body Slams, anyone should be able to take one. It all on the taker to jump, and fatass is known for not jumping. Henry didn't look like he knew the German was coming. It looked like they were going to tease the spot because Angle's grip looked like it slipped to me. I'm inclined to believe it was Mark's fault, but as was said earlier attempting a simple bump for a 200 pounder becomes a whole different ball game when the guy taking the move is 400 pounds, and the one delivering it is basically being held together with gum and duct tape.

    Kobe or LeBron

Please tell me why LeBron gets the "he's only 21" argument used both ways here? Either he's the greatest player at his age in the history of basketball and should have to deal with the negative associated with that praise, or he's still years away from developing into becoming a champion and shouldn't be talked up like he's one of the best players to ever suit up in the NBA when he hasn't played even one postseason game yet. It's not fair to use it both ways, and that's the main reason I can't stand the way the media presents him.
