I'm not upset that the Giants lost. I'm upset that they got bludgeoned by a non playoff team for the second time this year. That late cosmetic TD aside this was a complete blowout. When a blocked FG return accounts for all of your "offense" on the day, that's not a good sign. Also I really don't want the Cowboys to make the playoffs and the Falcons blowing one against the hapless Saints gives them the chance to jump into the 6 seed with a win today. That's the only team I'm afraid of coming into Giants Stadium and piling up the points against us, especially if the defense plays as poorly as they did today.

I think Pittsburgh should win, but I also thought the Giants should have no problem lighting McNabb up today. They didn't get a finger on him all game long. If Dallas wins in Pitt, I see no reason they wouldn't be able to handle the Giants at home next Sunday night. Dallas isn't as physical as Philly, but in pristine conditions I'll take their skill players over ours any day of the week especially if Jacobs is less than 100%. Ward and Bradshaw are relatively useless unless he softens up the 'D' first.

Nah man. If the Giants lose today they'll be pissed and Dallas hates playing physical teams. Whether they win or lose in Pittsburgh, their bodies aren't going to feel very good afterwards and they should be ripe for a Giants "response" ass-kicking. The Giants have given up about 103 straight 3rd down conversions to the Eagles. They've gotten the life kicked out of them on both sides of the ball, and Philly doesn't have a fraction of the skills players that Dallas does. Ross and Jacobs both got hurt and as we've seen in their two losses, when the Giants can't control TOP, they lose badly. If Barber doesn't play again next week that actually hurts the Giants because then Dallas will just pass all game and there's no way we can cover TO, Williams, Crayton, Witten and whoever else without any kind of pass rush. I don't believe the Giants have put McNabb on his ass once this game and Romo is far more mobile. If Dallas wins today then can close within a game of the division title by winning at home, and I think that's exactly what will happen.

If the Steelers don't win later on, I fully expect the Giants to get rolled in Dallas next weekend. What an embarassing performance today. 23 actually. They blocked two FGs, one of which was returned for the Giants only score. I wrote that before Westbrook abused Pierce for the second time today. Maybe Pierce should have been focused on the Burress situation, because if this is him bringing 100% of his attention to the game, he needs to rethink that strategy because he's been AWFUL throughout.

The Giants are getting manhandled by the Eagles. This game has been worse than the Browns one in terms of how inept they've looked. If not for special teams, they should probably be down by about 20.

I still can't believe Hixon dropped that gimme TD. At least the Giants ended up with 7, because I don't think there was any way they were scoring at least 13 to tie in the second half if Akers makes that kick.

There's a funny visual with your avatar right next to this phrase. I hope DLH gets beaten soundly, and finally disappears.

Did you see that throw Verne? ONLY Tim Tebow could throw a quick slant into single coverage after playing within the SEC for a year!!! Superman wears Tim Tebow pajamas!!!!one! He's the most overhyped collegiate athlete I've ever seen. I can't wait for the seamless transition to CBS guys slurping on Psycho T from UNC in a couple of weeks/months. The heart, the determinaaaaation!! Having said that I hope Florida pistol whips OU in the title game though. At least let the hype result in a title.
-
Are the CBS commentators contractually obligated to suck Tebow off on every play, or is that just a perk?
-
So far the 'Bama & Florida defenses look like they belong in the Big XII.

That's Paula Deen. I HATE that bitch.

Wasn't there a lot of nonsense about the first ballot stuff when Ripken and Gwynn got in? I vaguely recall some douchebag writers saying that if Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb couldn't get 100% of the vote, then no one ever should. I understand the point, but punishing a guy by not voting for him simply because someone else screwed up 70 years earlier is about as bush league a move as there is.

Greg Maddux is scheduled to announce his retirement on Monday. During his prime, the guy was the nastiest non-power pitcher I've ever seen.

I don't mind watching the Food Network, I just hate when they randomly start shuttling in new hosts and flooding the airwaves with their stuff in hopes of finding at least one hit in the bunch. In the last couple of years Guy went from unknown to having about 4 shows in the regular rotation (Guy's Big Bite, the recipe showdown thing with Mark Summers that's coming back without Mark Summers, DD&D, and the Emeril Live rip off). Then they added the Neelys and Sunny Anderson who basically have the same show, and gave each of these clowns a second equally horrible show on top of their regular ones. Ask Aida is a good concept, but she's not much of a chef so it looks like the type of show someone does BEFORE they make it to the network. Big Daddy's House was pretty bad even though I liked Aaron. The wannabe comedian from his season of Next Food Network Star is getting his own show where we get to watch his wacky antics. I know that Anne Burrell (Batali's sous chef on ICA), and Alex Guarnaschelli (sp?) also got new shows as well. I would imagine this is a relatively prestigious place to work, but it still seems like they can't develop personalities that don't become irritating from the get go, or they overexpose people (Bobby Flay & Rachael Ray I'm looking at you) to the point where you don't want to see them anymore.

That Jonas in particular strikes me as the Lance Bass of that group.

I haven't played 4 since I don't import Japanese games, but 3 is almost universally regarded as a good to great RPG. It's got your typical RPG elements, but you also get stronger for interacting with specific friends, classmates and other people around the city by being able to create more advanced personae (sp?) in their selected arcana. It's a game that offered a good story (although the pacing was slow in the first half), interesting characters but also combined elements of the "gotta catch 'em all" type stuff by having over 100 persona in the game to work with and forcing you to choose which of 2 to 6 people you were going to hang out with after school to advance your relationship with them. Because you had to make specific choices about what you wanted to do on a daily basis, you could play the game a second time and end up with a completely different feel about your playthrough. For example, the first time I played I only maxed out 13 of the 21 social links and didn't even get halfway through 6 of them. When FES came out, I played it again and ended up maxing out all 22 links (they added one) because my Courage, Strength and Charm were maxed and I didn't have to spend my nights building those stats up again. I guess it's the kind of game that allows you to play it the way you want to, while you also definitely feel like you're progressing every time you reach a new level and can fuse a new persona who has more advanced skills. In short, it's fun, addictive and requires very little level grinding like most RPG's do.

I pre-ordered it a couple of weeks ago. Persona 3 is one of my favorite games on the PS2 and this is supposed to be better in just about every way.

It fucking sucks that the Giants were able to overcome retirements, locker room cancers, and injuries, but some morons going clubbing might end up breaking up the team.

Running a play to score a TD when you could end the game by taking a knee is the definition of running up the score. Sadly, it's a necessary evil in a sport where some old white men and computer algorithms dictate which two teams get to play for a championship and generally get it wrong.

Here is it quarter by quarter: OU 1st quarter: 39%, 2nd quarter: 32%, third quarter: 23%, 4th quarter: 7% UT 1st quarter: 22%, 2nd quarter: 32%, third quarter: 25%, 4th quarter: 20% That's almost a perfect example of using statistics to show one thing, when they could just as easily be interpreted to show the exact opposite of your point. Texas never had more than 45 points after 3 quarters in any of those games. OU had that many points in SIX games. Oklahoma's games were almost all over by half time. They ran it up in the 3rd Quarters, Texas did it in the 4th. Both teams ran it up unnecessarily. Stoops just chose to do it on a national TV game to scrape together the last few points which knocked Texas out of the BCS title game. That's why he's the "villain" here.

Ted? He plays the lovable loser who has ambitions of being a family man. Hardly the chick magnet you make him out to be. Are you sure you've even seen the show? How many women has Ted hooked up with since the show's been on? He's not Barney by any means, but for a "lovable loser" he sure gets to bang a lot of random women.

If the Giants win (or Dallas loses) on Sunday they clinch a top 2 seed, so it'd be nice to get that out of the way ASAP.

Bloomberg only follows the letter of the law when it suits him. When he doesn't like it, he'll just strongarm the City Council into changing it.

Just another reason not to vote for Bloomberg next year.

Diane from Cheers. I was so glad when Kirstie Alley became the female lead. Monica from Friends. I don't remember anything she did that was interesting or funny, and her OCD when it came to cleaning was the icing on the annoying cake. Micah/Ali Larter's characters from Heroes. I was really into the first few episodes until they became all about them. After that, I stopped watching. Ted from How I Met Your Mother, JD from Scrubs & Jerry Seinfeld. They're all basically the weakest link on their shows. They're incredibly egotistical douchebags who only care about themselves and then we're supposed to believe that any lady within a five mile radius just can't wait to take her panties off around them for some odd reason. Arthur Spooner from The King of Queens. It was mildly funny when he played that same part as Frank Costanza on Seinfeld because it was part of the reason George was so fucked up. The fact that Carrie was "normal" despite a clearly psychotic father just made him intolerable. Debra & Marie Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond. I think Debra hated Raymond, and Marie wanted to fuck him. Those roles should have been reversed, but never were. Any scene that had the two of them in it was hard to sit through.
