Obama won't win the presidency and then Democrats will continue to bitch and complain because they can't win the White House even when it's handed to them on a silver platter. I didn't think there was a chance in hell Bush would get a second term, and now it's starting to seem inevitable he'll get a third in a couple of months.

The park doesn't bother me. Our bullpen does. In Shea, CBP, Coors Field or anywhere else they WILL find a way to blow leads because that's what they do. If the starters aren't amazing at the same time the lineup produces 5+ runs we're not going to win games and that's been the case all season.
-
He's already given up 2 homers and 3 runs in his first two, now three innings. Even if he posts a bunch of zeroes the bullpen isn't going to hold a lead since the wind is blowing out in Citizens Bank Smallpark.

Santana's not going to do anything tonight, so the Mets will be 1 1/2 back after bending over for the Phillies yet again.

I'm fairly sure we're not allowed to split up teams or trios in any way.

That's pretty much what I said in spoiler tags before the show. He didn't need to make any enemies this week if he'd just outlasted Ollie which was going to happen since Ollie was catching hypothermia and couldn't hold on for very much longer. Instead, Dan wanted to show how "great" of a player he was and ended up backdooring Michelle, punking Ollie and angering both Renny and Memphis for no particular reason. I didn't think anyone on the cast was a bigger douchebag than Jerry, but it seems that our humble, pious Catholic is the biggest creep in there this season by a wide margin. He's making things personal for people and that's not going to win him any more money.
-
They still blew a 2 run lead with four to go. That's pretty much par for the course with those douchebags.

"Beat the Mets, beat the Mets, Head for the park and beat the Mets. Hot dogs, green grass all out at Shea, Guaranteed the 'pen throws leads away. Because those other guys are really rockin' that ball, Hittin' those home runs over the wall. Long Island, New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens, Uptown and Down, Motherfuckin' Mets: that's the cheer all over New York town." I have updated the song from 1984 to 2008.

Can someone please explain how Minaya still has a job when the bullpen has been the crippling weakness of the team since 2006?

I'd say we can pick whoever we'd like to make a deal with, and once a trade is agreed upon it's posted in the thread by one of the two parties and confirmed by the other. This way only people who want to make deals can and everyone will know what's been done already.
-
I think the option of making up to two trades sounds good.
-
Are we going to end up doing the one trade thing at the end of the draft? If so, is it going to be done with our partners being chosen randomly or will we have the option of trying to work out a deal with someone specifically?

How is lowering the age limit to 18 going to prevent underage drinking though? If you do that, then 13-17 year olds will continue the American tradition of drinking until they puke in the name of being cool because they're doing something they're not supposed to. HS kids tend to make horrible decisions not necessarily because they want to, but because they feel they need to. As someone who has counciled about a hundred kids in that age range, their biggest fear is being ostracized because they chose not to do the things everyone else was doing. Good parenting and will power really don't mean much in the face of peer pressure, and lowering the legal age isn't going to stop 14 and 15 year olds from doing stupid shit. As long as there are a couple of idiots in the mix, almost everyone they associate with will continue to make bad decisions and they really aren't concerned about the legality of things when they're trying to fit in.

I really wanted to take the Dynamite Kid to have him feud with Benoit, but given that mellow crushed my dream I have decided instead to go with Lord Steven Regal. The thought of prime Regal vs prime Benoit in a match where they can beat each other black and blue and stretch each other on the mat makes me happy.

Wade's championship form is flopping to the ground while travelling and getting a foul call. I know a Celtics fan is not calling someone else out on flopping their way to a title.

I expect the Giants to miss the playoffs now that Osi is out for the year. If they can't convince Strahan to make a return I think the best we can hope for is an 8-8 season. With that in mind, a successful year would be one where Eli continues to develop and I see a little more consistency out of Jacobs and the receivers not named Burress or Toomer. Had Osi been healthy I thought we'd be a 10 or 11 win team competing for the 5th seed and a chance to repeat, albeit a very small one.
-
Before the draft I mentioned that Miami would be in the mix for the 8th seed in the East if Wade wasn't in playing shape and they managed to keep Marion. Now that they've added Beasley, retained Marion and Wade seems to be back to the Finals MVP version of himself, they'll be competing for homecourt in the East. It's starting to remind me of that one year where the Spurs tanked, got Duncan and then became a perennial powerhouse.

Dan has no game, with women or on BB. I have never seen a guy think he's playing such a great game when he's digging himself a monster hole.
-
Osi's going to require season ending knee surgery. Fan-fucking-tastic.
-
It's already been played.

The international refs are actually worse than the NBA ones. There seems to be a call every time down the court.

Apparently the medal thrower was right. http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/w...p&type=lgns
