I was wondering what movie that was in because I've probably seen at least half of the ones before that but only one time each and so long ago that I don't really remember much of anything about any of the movies individually. I just remember those two moments you mentioned as being so awesomely bad that they're unforgettable.

The "future" quarterback of the Packers is going to retire for good before Brett does. Only way Aaron Rodgers is starting for the Green Bay Packers is if he makes himself the starter in Madden 09. Otherwise, he's screwed. I'm figuring that Favre could still change his mind tonight.

I've rethought my initial venue strategy as I was originally thinking about picking somewhere down south, preferably near Mexico early on before I decided on two venues near where I live. Since neither of those venues can hold over 20,000, I've decided to pick The Alamodome in San Antonio, TX to hold the supercard with Nassau and the Meadowlands getting the secondary show(s). Since I'll be running near Mexico I'll by selecting The Black Family's Cuervo, (E)Scoria & Ozz.

The O's are 9 games behind Boston and there are FIVE other teams between them. Come on now.

It amazes me that people who consider themselves "smarks" don't understand that Cena turning heel would be a titanic error on the WWE's part. Even though it might make THEM a little bit happier to see the guy wrestle, it would completely kill the half of their fanbase that is rabid for the guy. The last time I checked, the money that women and kids spend is worth exactly the same as the money that men spend. The whole expression "cutting off your nose to spite your face" is appropriate here. If Cena turns heel, the women and kid fans go away, and the guys who have been shitting on him forever will start to cheer him because now they'll like his whole schtick again. Then you'll have a heel who gets cheered with less fans than he had before, less merch sales than he generated before and a less effective formula because he'll be paired up against babyfaces who aren't nearly as over as he is.

I'm not going to defend the guy when he's regularly blowing games. You guys were crapping on him the moment he hit a bump in the road after a great start because of your existing bias against him. That bump in the road was giving up 2 game tying/losing multi-run homers in 4 days and blowing another 2 run save within that same week. After tonight I just have to ask what other closer has blown at least 6 save opportunities with a 2+ run lead this year? Wagner is never asked to get more than three outs and he hardly ever pitches in one run games, so it's not like he's being asked to do more than pitch an inning without giving up 2 runs, and he's proven that he can't get that done on a regular basis. That doesn't even reference Aaron Heilman's complete inability to not implode with a game on the line, Scott Schoenweis inexplicably having a job, and Duaner Sanchez and Joe Smith forgetting how to get people out. When your entire bullpen is the drizzling shits and Wagner can't be trusted with a 2 run lead there's really not a lot of great things to take out of the fact that Wagner's ERA looks great and he's the best of a horrible bunch.

MSG and the The Nassau Coliseum are both gone, so I may as well take the third venue in the "holy trinity" of big stadiums in the tri-state are by taking what is now known as The Izod Center but was once the Brendan Byrne Arena, and then Continental Airlines Arena in the Meadowlands Complex in East Rutherford, NJ. I will also pick up another cruiserweight who can bump and job here by selecting Shannon Moore. I'm going with the more gothic looking one and not the prepubescent one from WCW.

Now that Boston has lost Manny, which one of the 3 teams in the AL East ends up missing the postseason by default? I'm assuming that the WC comes from that group. My gut says the Yankees beat out Tampa Bay, but the Rays win the WC by 2 games over Minnesota and 4 over Boston. I'd also like to thank the Brewers for getting swept because it leaves the WC within reach for the Mets in case we can't catch the Phillies.

I don't know...they may draw from the same general area, but I've always thought Nassau was the polar opposite of MSG in terms of overall gate and crowd heat. I disagree mainly because IIRC the Lesnar/Rock match at Summer Slam '02 was the same kind of reaction one would have expected from an MSG crowd. I think there are only a handful of cities that can be known for having "smark" fans that go to shows and this was the one that made the most sense to me. Most of the people that I've known that have gone to Nassau to see the WWF/E did so when they couldn't get tickets to MSG if they were touring the tri-state area for shows. MSG tends to get the bigger dates such as a PPV or a TV taping while Nassau would get the TV taping after the PPV or just a house show, but having been to both places to see wrestling a few times I'd say that the crowds are pretty similar. I would have taken 909's pick but I have only three Canadians on my roster and the other place I was considering running can't hold upwards of 20,000 people.

That's how the Marlins have always done business. But they're paying like $17 to field the entire team they have now. It just doesn't make sense to make Boston stronger in the future so Manny can play 50 games and make your team even worse defensively. Dan Uggla has to be one of the most braindead players I've seen this year. He just slid into an out at home.

I had to debate the whole arena thing for a while yesterday. I have a lot of workers who would be over in the South based on when their peaks were, but I also have a lot of guys who first got noticed in the Northeast. I knew that MSG would be gone first, but I think with my venue selection I can count on the same exact fanbase which is just as good as far as I'm concerned. My venue is The Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale (Long Island), NY. The manager was a lay up for me and I knew I'd pick her from the moment we were told that managers would be allowed. I couldn't find a really clear picture of her with Chris Benoit or Sandman and 2 Cold Scorpio together, but that's who Woman will be escorting to the ring on my card. If only I'd taken Doom instead of the APA she'd have a huge stable of people she could work with. Argh. In any case Woman will always be my favorite female manager/valet of all time and I'm happy to get her here just because she wouldn't seem right anywhere else.
