My point was that the old man lied and it was the right move to make. If he hadn't, he would have made 8 enemies. But it's silly to act like it's less of a lie because you took your hat off.

Even better is the old man taking off his military gear when he's going to stab someone in the back because he doesn't want to shame the Marines or whatever. It's an obvious tell now. If you're a houseguest and Jerry's suddenly not wearing his military clothes that means he's going to lie to or betray someone. I just think that a 75 year old man would be above the BS of acting like if he's not wearing a Semper Fi hat that means it's OK to lie to someone you swore allegiance to the day before. What a douchebag.

The coverage of the midday parade started at 7 EST, the "All Star Game" coverage started at 8 and the first pitch actually took place somewhere between 8:45 and 9 PM.

I thought about LA, but they only had 16 pro titles according to that site which was a lot lower than I had previously thought. I would say they should be a solid # 3 though.

I don't know if this belongs here but this whole "Titletown USA" nonsense on ESPN is particularly annoying. Valdosta, Georgia's HS accomplishments are supposed to make them a contender for being the biggest winners in the country? Stanford apparently takes credit for Tiger's 14 majors despite the fact that he didn't win any of them while he was at Stanford. It's just silly since the only legitimate options are either New York or Boston thanks to the Yankees and Celtics respectively. NY has 47 major titles to its credit while Boston has 34. I don't believe any other city has more than Detroit's 22. http://www.donovanindex.com/index.php

Any ideas? Second match was Kofi vs Burchill. So what happened in the Kofi/Burchill match that also happened in Kane vs Punk? The heel made the face "earn what he got, made it believable, got some heat, and gave him a good comeback" aka did their jobs to build up the new champs who need quality wins. In the ME, Rhodes and DiBiase got the rub from simply being in the ME while they took nothing away from Cena and CT. It's basically old school booking, and it still works.

Brian was stupid to try and become the ringleader in week one; the people that do that NEVER last long once it becomes obvious what they're trying to do. The best thing to do is lay low for a while and fly under the radar. Look at that guy from a few seasons ago (the Donato-love-fest season) - Zach, I think his name was. People (online) bitched about him having no personality all season, and yet he got himself to the final 3 as a result. So far I'm having a tough time deciding who I think will win: I'm torn between Dan, Memphis, Angie or Keesha. I'm not having the same problem with who I want to win: April FTW. She's hawt. Exactly. Brian's need to pat himself on the back got him a swift boot in the ass on the way out. The Michelle Obama look alike probably overplayed her hand last night too, as did Ollie. She proved to be too smart for her own good, while he proved to be a dumbass in regards to strategy. So, that sets up Angie, April and the nondescript guys like Dan and Steven to be in position to win it. I just want to see more of Angie in a bikini.

I was going to take Beth Phoenix with this pick, but HTQ timed out and I forgot to send it to mellow because I was watching that marathon AS Game last night. My replacement pick isn't nearly as strong, but she's equally bitchy and I've already got her boys on the roster so I'm going to go with Melina here. I thought about taking her a few rounds ago, but I'm glad to get her now.

Another commercial break. We'll find out who the MVP is when they come back from THIS one apparently. I guess the 5 minute one they just took wasn't long enough to figure out that JD Drew won it. EDIT: Drew won.

Wagner blows the save, Lidge blows the game and the AL wins. Was there ever really any doubt? I think Morneau was actually out, but I think the ump made the right call.
-
If only Hurdle had put Lidge in sooner.
-
To stay awake through a game that means nothing?
-
I said it about 6 or 7 innings ago, but I'm confident that Lidge will give up the walk off HR.
-
So what happens if the AL doesn't score in this inning or the next and Kazmir hits his pitch count?
-
Can NO ONE else play 2B for the fucking National League?
-
Me too. Just remember that if Billy Wagner could have gotten an out without giving up the tying run the game would have ended a looooooong time ago.
-
Wow, the NL just saved Uggla from being a huge goat.
-
Dan Uggla is the AS Game MVP . . . for the American League.
-
As a fan of a team in the AL East you should have known better.
-
American League will win yet another AS game here when Lidge gets bombed to deep left center.
-
I'm so happy that the rest of the country got the chance to see Wagner at his best.
-
Yes he has, and that's why I support his decision to do whatever it takes to get his way.

As a Giants fan, I hope Favre ruins the Packers this year. If Brett wants to take out one of the best teams in the conference in a power play I say go for it.

When's the last time a soap opera pretended that the majority of it was scripted but then at other points what you're seeing is "real"?

When did Mike Pelfrey make his deal with the devil, and why didn't he make it sooner?
