So this chick has spent more than ELEVEN YEARS of her life being pregnant. Half of her brood hasn't even been alive that long. Just another reason to hate hillbillies.

At his best Stockton was a great passer, Isiah was a great passer who could score too. The purpose of this draft is to draft guys in their prime, so the edge should go to Isiah whose peak overshadows Stockton's longevity. career PPG 19.2/13.1, best was 22.9/17.2 both to Thomas career RPG 3.6/2.7, best 4.5/3.3 again both to Thomas career APG 9.3/10.5, best 13.9/14.5 both to Stockton I'll take 6 more points and a rebound instead of an extra assist per game.

Nah, but it was a good read though. I was just thinking about what Barkley was saying last night about how people better get the Lakers now while they can, and how this Spurs/Hornets series looks like one of those "changing of the guard" deals from back in the day.

I think this could be the beginning of the end for some of the former league powerhouses since San Antonio, Dallas & Phoenix are starting to look old or at least like they've been surpassed by LA, New Orleans and possibly Utah who could be the big teams out West for the next 3-5 years at least.

That would be tough because I have a highly irrational hatred for LeBron but he'd be playing for my team in that scenario. I don't know how I'd feel about that since it would be like Jordan being a Knick, Jeter being a Met or Troy Aikman being the Giants' QB. Can you really root for the player you dislike the most just because they ended up on your team?

If Thomas didn't tear his achilles tendon, he would've problay been the 1st one to reach 10,000 assists. I just wanted to say that if Magic didn't get HIV he would have done it first. He was 79 away when he missed 5 years, that was about 6-8 games worth of assists for him.
-
He should have tipped better. Karma and all that. Seriously though I'd love for the LeBrons to get swept out of the playoffs two years in a row.

Well at most restaurants in NYC, they AUTOMATICALLY charge 18% gratuities after 8 (or 10) PM or if your party is 6 or more. And by restaurants I'm talking things like Applebees or TGIFridays, not your highbrow places.

He did say he wants to become a billionaire so I guess stiffing waiters is a way to negate the cost of his jewelry tab.

It looks like Carlisle is headed to the Mavs as early as tomorrow, and that the Knicks aren't out of the D'Antoni sweepstakes (ugh).

With Jerry West being the guy I was hoping to pick here, I'm going with another character guy who can score the basketball. Kobe Bean Bryant NBA MVP (2008) 2x NBA All-Star MVP (2002, 2007) 3x NBA Champion (2000-2002) 10x All-NBA Selection (6x First Team including this year) 7x All-Defensive Selection (5x First team) 10x NBA All-Star (1998 & 2000-2008) 2x NBA Scoring Champion 1997 Slam Dunk Champion Youngest player to 20,000 points (until LeBron gets there) Future Hall of Famer and likely will be the 5th member of the 30,000 point club 21,619 points scored (#24 all-time, 12th in PPG, 25.0)

That's what I was going for as well but I wasn't sure how many years Nash had left. He can be moved easily if the Suns are willing to take 50 cents on the dollar value wise, but there's no one they could trade him for that would make the Suns as well off as they are with him, and certainly they wouldn't be better afterwards. Considering they don't like to spend money and have essentially decided to go in a different direction offensively they might as well see what they can get for him and start to rebuild since they don't realistically have a shot to win a title in the next 5 to 10 years given the great young teams in the Western Conference.
-
I think it all hinges on who would they trade him to and what they would expect to get back for him. I don't know how much money and years he has left on his contract but despite his all-NBA 2nd team level skillset I don't think he's very tradeable because of his age and inability to guard anyone in the league. He's a perfect fit for a team like the old Suns, but I don't think he'd work nearly as well anywhere else.

The Mets just gave up an inside the park HR to RF, Church jumped for it, hit the wall, fell down, stayed for a couple of seconds, then got up and threw it before Pagan was anywhere to be found covering him. Horrible. The Mets have given up a 4-1 lead and should have blown this one open early. Wright then follows that up by throwing a routine grounder into the stands for his 7th error of the season. Same old, same old.

Nice picks there since I debated for a while between Baylor, Barkley and Pippen since most of the big time 5's are gone already.
-
He's from NYC and apparently that means he can fix the Knicks. I don't get it either.
-
David Delucci just CRUSHED a Joba fastball for a 3 run pinch hit HR. That was nice to see while flipping through the channels.

Elgin Baylor NBA Hall of Fame (1977) NBA Rookie of the Year (1959) 10x All-NBA First Team (every season from 1959 to 1969) 11x NBA All-Star (1959-1970) NBA All-Star co-MVP (1959) NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team (1996) 23,149 points scored (#4 all-time in PPG, 27.4) 11,463 rebounds (10th all time in RPG, 13.5)

That's who I was hoping would slide 3 more spots.

The Spurs are looking old and slow against the Hornets.
-
Stupid ass refs are going to ruin this game on a messed up call. One of these refs seem to be pulling a Donaghy for Detroit tonight. This has been atrocious.
-
The pic doesn't show even though it's clear you took Bird.

I found myself thinking that Kobe had had a horrible shooting night because of how badly he missed those 3 or 4 shots. It was surprising to see that he'd gone for 8-16 at the end of the day.
-
You could also argue that the Spurs probably won't hit 12 3's again although they cooled off a lot in the second half. I expect the next 3 or 4 games to be really tight but if the Spurs don't defend and rebound better (Hornets shot 50% and were +16 on the glass) there's no way they'll win the series even if Duncan goes for 30+ per night.
-
I don't think it will happen, but if New Orleans somehow gets by the Spurs I could easily see them winning the championship with Paul basically playing 2006 D-Wade, minus getting every call known to man.
