How bush league of the Hornets to have to delay a playoff game because of a botched stunt involving a mascot. The NBA doesn't need mascots and cheerleaders.

Are you saying she's a gold digger or an escort? I'm voting for the latter.

Boston over Cleveland in 7 or Cleveland over Atlanta in 5 Detroit in 6 LA in 6 San Antonio in 6 (I'd like for New Orleans to win though)

I'm glad Kobe's finally getting one but I think they've gotten the last 3 wrong for sure and possibly 4 straight have been head scratchers. I think CP3 should have won it this year, Kobe last year and Dirk the year before that with Shaq/Nash in '04/'05 being a coin flip. At the end of the day only Paul misses out with winning the award but it's ridiculous he didn't get it this year given the Nash precedent set a couple of years ago. Paul led the league in assists and steals, averaged 21+ PPG AND his team won 17 more games than the prior year taking a division with FOUR 50+ game winners. I'll never understand the "experts".

Just throwing this out for discussion, if the Celtics lose on Sunday night is that the greatest chokejob in the history of the NBA playoffs?

Rondo was LOST on that last play.

Of all of the guys in the NFL to potentially bring it its next black eye, I never would have thought of Marvin Harrison.

The dumbest thing about this decision is that the flagrant foul on Queen James earlier in the series deserved a suspension and didn't garner one. I hate the NBA sometimes.

I'm in if you need extra bodies.

I'm probably going to be picking up a PS3 in the next couple of months simply because a relative is going to split the cost with my birthday coming up which makes the heavy price tag more palatable. I read that there's a MGS4 bundle coming out shortly (June 12?). I'm not a fan of the MGS games, so that's not a big deal to me, but has it been confirmed that said system is backwards compatible? If so, is there any reason not to pick up the new bundle in favor of something else that's out or coming soon? Thanks in advance.

Noooooooooooooooooo! I just can't stand looking at D'Antoni when he's got the bleeding vagina face and that's all we'd see if he was stupid enough to take the Knicks job since we can't play defense and don't have (m)any players who fit his style.

Patrick Ewing, anybody? Since you brought up some bad memories here I'll just talk about the main Ewing game that still pisses me off to this day. I'm sure you all remember the one in '95 in the Eastern Conference Semis against the Pacers at MSG where he decided to be different and NOT take the 3rd step he always did on a dunk but to blow a finger roll from point blank range ultimately costing them the game and the series. It's Patrick Ewing AT MSG and there's not a chance in hell a ref is going to call him for travelling at that stage of the game, but I guess he wanted to be George Gervin for some reason. Ugh. The '94 and '95 playoff ending games still haunt me as a Knicks fan especially when it seems like we'll never be good again.

This Mets game is ugly already. The infield has had two mental errors in this inning, Perez has just been yanked after allowing 5 runs on 5 walks and just 2 hits in 1.2 IP. Figueroa's gonna have to pitch at least 5 innings in relief because the bullpen is baked after last night.

You keep saying this but it is complete and total bullshit. A Suns team without Amare Stoudimire and Raja bell and Kurt thomas 2 years ago was a championship caliber team? They made the WCF 2 years ago. That's a "championship caliber" team when you can do that in the West. In the last 4 years they won 55, 61, 54 and 62 in backwards order. They had a back to back MVP and 2 other guys that made all-NBA teams during that run. They also had the 6th Man of the Year last year. They've had a former Coach of the Year pulling the strings during that whole run as well. You can cite bad luck all you want, but that's a "championship caliber" organization by any stretch of the imagination. Fundamentally though everyone has agreed that the Suns not playing playoff level defense has been their downfall and the fact that they've had that much talent and zero results has a lot more to do with their style of play than you're willing to admit because you're convinced that they're good enough defensively but "shit happens" and they get screwed every year. Like I said before as a Knicks fan during the Jordan era I know what it's like to see your team lose to the same guys every year even when you were the better team and should have put them away (The Charles Smith Memorial Game). However history doesn't care about the coulda, shoulda, woulda. It just shows the actual results, and for the Suns their results don't look good for a team with that much talent on paper.
-
Aside from not wanting to pay rookies why do the Suns consistently trade their picks for money? It's not like they're getting lottery picks here and they're not playing in front of half empty crowds every night. Their management team makes some very odd decisions when it comes to personnel.
-
Or D'Antoni could be getting the axe because Phoenix has had championship level talent for at least 3 years now and they couldn't make it out of the West because they play no defense. It was obvious Kerr and/or D'Antoni was gone the minute they traded for Shaq because anyone who wasn't a Suns fan knew that wasn't going to work longterm and someone was going to be sacrificed once they were eliminated.
-
Then the Suns need to work on their bench because they can't depend on getting 30+ minutes per night throughout the season and into the playoffs from Shaq & Hill given their injury histories. That leaves Nash, Barbosa, Bell, Diaw and Amare to do the heavy lifting yet again and Giricek can only give you so much. They might actually benefit from getting some bigs that can guard bigs instead of people who can play two or three positions on offense and none on "D".
-
It's looking more and more likely that Nash will retire as the only 2-time MVP never to play in the Finals since that window in Phoenix just got shut tonight. Shaq will be in full fatass mode next season, Nash is getting older and D'Antoni doesn't believe in using the bench so it's pretty much a done deal. If there's any team I could kind of relate them to it's the Knicks in the '90s since we were always a threat but never got over the hump and even when we made the Finals it was such a soulcrushing way to lose the series that I'd have preferred to not live through it.
-
Thank you Spurs, now go out and lose to the Hornets so we can get some fresh matchups in the later stages of the playoffs.
-
It's awesome to watch two teams as playoff savvy as the Suns and Spurs just try to give this game away, but the other team insisting that they have it instead.
-
Because Parker didn't fly into the basket support and flail his arms in Nashian fashion.
-
I honestly had never heard this before and it's fucking hilarious. I caught it on SportsCenter earlier tonight and was shocked I'd never heard that before since it's a classic. Also how many more starts can Phil Hughes get when he's gone a whopping 16 innings in his last FIVE starts?
-
It'd be nice if the Nuggets ever learned to play defense.
-
So, I think anyone who thought Boston or Detroit was going to challenge the Western Conference winner might need to rethink that idea because neither team has been impressive. It's almost feels like we're going to end up seeing the LeBrons get swept again. Ugh.

Yeah, but Wade got fat and lost his explosiveness. Watching Wade this year was like watching Jordan when he was a Wizard.
