Maybe Earl Clark will learn not to travel every time he's in the low post next season because he just about singlehandedly ended Louisville's current one.

Let's go Louisville! I can't listen to the tandem blowjobs for Hansbrough's hustle, heart, determination and his ability to cure ailing children around the globe with his uncontested put backs and layups.

I can only hope Louisville/UNC is more competitive than this UCLA beatdown was.

I think the Lakers just blew their shot at being the # 1 seed in the West and Kobe might end up dropping the MVP to CP3 based on these two horrible losses to the Bobcats and Grizzlies at home.

So the Spurs have 50 wins with 9 to play and only 19 days left in the regular season and STILL no one in the West has even secured a playoff spot. That just seems wrong on so many levels given the horrible bottom half of the Eastern Conference's "playoff teams".

Are you seriously of the belief that these kids actually "go to college" the way that anyone who isn't on an athletic scholarship does? The one and done rule all but guarantees that those guys graduate with ZERO actual credits. Changing it to two years will only make sure they take remedial classes the first year and BS courses the second so they can remain academically eligible without actually working towards a degree.

I'd love nothing more than for Louisville to knock out UNC. I can't listen to any more man love for Hansbrough.

That Jemele Hill is getting entirely too much time on ESPN airwaves. They should just skip Rome Is Burning instead of having her host and blatantly read everything off of a teleprompter with no emotion.

His averages of 20.1/9.5/4.1 are pretty solid, but the career totals just don't match up to a HoFer in my mind. He's barely over 17,000 pts, and 8,000 rebounds with about 3,500 assists. He only made the all-NBA 1st team once, 2nd team 3 times and 3rd team once and was just a 5 time All-Star. If he'd been able to stay healthy and was closer to 20,000/10,000 then yes I think he would have made it without a doubt. If he gets in I think it'll be by the skin of his teeth and one of those guys that people always look to as the borderline HoFer you compare other borderline guys to.

That championship window in Dallas shut pretty quickly. Unless they end up missing the playoffs and fluking their way to a high ping pong pick next year they look like they'll be just another of those teams that won a ton of regular season games over a 4 to 5 year span with nothing to show for it.

NCAA BBall Tournament, 1st and 2nd Rounds

A 4 lost to a 5 that played better down the stretch, a 5 seed got blown out by a 4, and a 6 seed lost on a last second shot to a 3 seed. That's not exactly the worst day any major conference has ever had.

I thought Lopez was fouled on that last shot, but it didn't really matter in the end.

The problem I have with women's college hoops is that 90% of the players have no discernible athletic ability at all, and the ones that can actually dribble with both hands and execute a simple no look pass are hailed as being Jordanesque. Half of the girls that are over 6 feet tall move like they're in quicksand, and a bunch of the guards just jack up shots from 4 feet behind the 3 point line because they can't jump or drive to the hoop. It's even more noticable when you see a 5 foot point guard running end to end while the defense looks winded at the half court line. I couldn't stomach watching an NBA where the average big man was an approximation of Jerome James and the bulk of the guards had Kyle Korver or JJ Redick's great shooting/suck at everything else skillset and that's pretty much what major DI women's hoops looks like, and the WNBA is only slightly better. I actually went to a Liberty game years ago as a youth counselor and lost count at about 20 blown wide open layups somewhere in the 3rd quarter. For a game whose hype is built on it allegedly being fundamentally sound, some 8th grade teams I've seen are more likely to make shots that the WNBA "superstars" miss on a regular basis.

NCAA BBall Tournament, 1st and 2nd Rounds

Tim Brando had no idea what was going on at the end of regulation of this SD/UConn game. With SD up 3, Brando doesn't realize that if the shooter makes this one UConn is down by 4 with ~30 seconds left. Luckily for him, the kid misses the back end of a 1 and 1, but Brando says UConn can tie with a 2 and go for the win with a three which of course they can't do. UConn gets a lay-up where SD plays no defense at all, but Brando's still lost as he claims it's tied, and doesn't realize he was wrong until after a break. Next possession, SD's up 1 now and UConn fouls again. The same guy makes the first prompting Brando to say that this is the same situation as before when it's not because even if he makes 'em both it's only a one possession game. He misses the 2nd and Brando is still confused about the score. The fact that Gminski didn't help him out, or someone didn't get in his earpiece and straighten him out is just bush league for the end of an NCAA tourney game. Hopefully he can redeem himself in OT since he completely screwed up the end of regulation sequence.

    This week in the NBA

No one played more than 26 minutes, 'Melo had 26, AI 24, Martin 23, Camby got a triple double in 23 minutes (13-15-10), JR Smith had 19 in 19 minutes and Chucky Atkins went for 19 in 18 minutes. The Nuggets BENCH went for 74 in roughly a half, so that may be the most embarassing defensive effort ever.

WOW, 168 points. They could have probably broken 190 if they'd left the starters in.

Guy Fieri has his own cooking show, "Guy's Big Bite", and he's also hosting some recipe show with the guy who used to be the host of Double Dare in addition to the show you guys mentioned. He's like the male version of Rachel Ray on the Food Network. On topic, as long as UNC doesn't win I don't mind who does.

I think it says something that most people STILL don't really believe this team is a title contender despite a 20 game winning streak. If that run had been pulled off by the Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, Pistons etc, the hype for that squad would be bordering on unbearable. I guess people just expect the bottom to fall out eventually because T-Mac's never made it to the 2nd round and the loss of Yao/extra workload for Mutombo has to come back to bite them at some point.

    This week in the NBA

I think the best part of that whole Phoenix/Dallas slide is that if the playoffs began today the Spurs would play the Mavs in the first round and then the winner of that series would get the Rockets/Suns winner. The Lakers in theory would have the path of least resistance to the WCF, but even still we'd get Lakers/Warriors and Jazz/Hornets. If that ended up being the bracket the Spurs would probably have to beat the Mavs, Suns, Lakers and either Celtics or Pistons to finally get the repeat monkey off of their backs, and if they did I think that would cement them as THE post Jordan dynasty.

Wade has been shut down for the season which pretty much ensures that Miami will have the most ping pong balls in the next draft.

The Suns better hope that complete games like today occur more often than once out of every 10 they play.

That's the same kind of play as Raja Bell clotheslining Kobe minus the intent. 1 game should be sufficient, accident or not. I don't think a fine is enough, anything more than that is too much.

    This week in the NBA

The Lakers/Mavs game today was a great way to waste 3 hours despite bad free throw shooting, horrendous officiating and some head scratching defensive plays by the Lakers down the stretch, such as leaving Dirk wide open for the game tying 3 at the end of the 4th and Gasol fouling Kidd on a layup at the end of OT. Luckily for him, Kidd missed the free throw and Dallas ended up losing by 4. Kobe had 52, with 30 coming in the 4th and OT. He also made his last 17 free throws after starting off 3 for 10 from the line. Dirk's monster game will probably get lost in the shuffle because they lost, but he put in 21 in the last 17 minutes and singlehandedly kept Dallas in the game when no one else could make a shot. I can't wait for the Western Conference Playoffs.
