This feels more like the 1998 season, when an amazing Vikings team completely choked and gave a shitty team who had no business keeping the game close in the first place, to lead to a complete assraping in the Super Bowl. At least Vikings fans have this- I'll never make fun of them for that game again. Lies. The Giants played keepaway the whole game and both teams had a few breaks go their way, then Favre fucks it up in overtime. To be honest, Green Bay played well below their level for this game, and New York is in way over their heads next week. Three consecutive road wins against much more talented squads, and now against the best team the NFL has ever seen? Good luck with that one. I agree completely. I mentioned it earlier that the best thing the Packers could have done would have been to crush them with their running game and have Favre look for the short, quick pass and control the ball. The worst possible thing they could have done was slow the game down to the Giants' pace and let them control the ball. And hey Cowboynumbers, knock it off. Your team lost to the same one mine did last week, despite being the #1 seed. That's pretty funny because thee Giants completely outplayed the Packers in regulation. The 90 yard TD pass was a blown coverage, Tynes missed 2 FGs, and that only kept the Packers in the game. If they were the better team they wouldn't have lost at home with Brett Favre beind outplayed by Eli Manning in subzero temperatures.

What about Jets fans? They have one of the crummiest franchises in AFC history and are some of the most obnoxious fans in the NFL. They're just bitter that it's been almost 40 years since they were relevant. Aside from the obnoxious J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS chant they don't really annoy me all that much and I have to hear everyone of them in the tri-state area pick the Giants to lose every game they play every year.

I just want to clarify that New York Yankees fans are assholes. The rest of our teams aren't successful enough to have asshole fans.
-
They better not overturn that catch by Toomer.
-
I'd love for the gunslinger Favre to throw a crippling INT right about now.
-
Eli with a Pennington throw there. Ugh.
-
The Giants need to prevent a TD on this drive. I don't see them coming back from 8 down with the way the Packers' D seems to stiffen up at key times and the exploitable, gaping holes in our secondary.
-
Well, that just wasted 18 1/2 minutes of stellar play. Typical stuff from the Giants' secondary though.
-
True, but they did also become the first # 1 seed in the NFC to lose in the 12 team playoff system. I think that's a touch more important than a great regular season and a one and done in the playoffs. As far as the margin of defeat goes, that's irrelevant.

Madison didn't play today and Plax has been injured all season so those injuries aren't really that significant since they had that same situation going into today's game which they won against a team that dominated them twice before. The Ross injury is the worst thing that happened today. The weather's likely to suck which is the main reason I don't see the Giants winning, but unlike the Seahawks they CAN run the ball. If it's a smashmouth, sloppy field type of game that should pay dividends as they finally have a legit two back system and Eli isn't playing like the old Eli. If anything I think Favre is more likely to shit the bed than Eli is because he's that close to making it back to the big game. I could EASILY see him throwing 2 or more picks by trying to do too much.

Giants were predicted to go 8-8 for the season. If they'd gone 8-8 instead of 10-6, they still would have had a chance to make the postseason.

I thought he was tearing up at the end of the game, but I'm pissed that I missed out on his meltdown. Oh well, there's always Youtube.
-
I heard the odds for them winning it were 70-1 earlier this week.
-
Tiki's retirement was probably the best thing that happened to the Giants this year. However, the only negative to this playoff run is 3 or 4 more years of Coughlin face.
-
How are the odds "very high" that those guys will be fine by next week when LT and Rivers couldn't finish this game? If they weren't really hurting they would have been in there. I don't know that 6 days of rest gets them close enough to 100% to make this a close game.
-
Props to the Chargers for winning with their big 3 offensive players hurt and some of the most phantom calls ever, which brings me to the Colts who should be embarassed that they couldn't win that game at home. That's just a horrible way to end the year.
-
NASTY hit on Wayne.
-
Reggie Wayne is flopping like Manu Ginobili out there. I'm stunned that wasn't another DPI call.
-
How the hell are the Chargers winning this game with Rivers, LT and Gates all at less than 100% AND the refs working diligently to get Indy the victory?
-
I don't think this guy realizes how stupid he sounds. There's the "bulletin board material" the Pats need for next week's game I guess.
-
The Willis Reed game.
-
It wasn't really close which isn't all that surprising.
-
Seahawks & Giants in the NFC Jaguars & Chargers in the AFC And then all 4 teams lose the following week.

I think the amazing thing about this is that people are actually unhappy they saw a team go unbeaten in the regular season. If the dreaded Cowboys had done it I'd still have to give them credit for doing something I never would have thought I'd have the chance to see. Of course I'd root for all of their playoff opponents to give them that one loss 73-0, but I'd still respect their accomplishment.
