This guy is almost a cruel joke being played on us by the producers. Having said that, with Sundunce and Sanjaya getting to stay no matter how much they sucked tonight, which 2 guys get the boot on Thursday? I'd guess Jared and Pedro. Randy's been in Paula's meds. Best of the night? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!

Simon saved this show there.

WTF? A black guy singing Cyndi Lauper on American Idol? He just asked to be sent home.
-
This Pedro guy is the drizzling shits. There's far too many undertalented pretty boys this season. Blake and Sligh are the only 2 guys that are worth watching this season.
-
Jack Osbourne should make it to the top 12, but he has no chance of winning because he looks like Jack Osbourne.
-
Clay was gay on the one season where looks didn't matter. The top 3 ended up being a 400 pound black dude who should have been DQed for taking an endorsement deal on the show, a gay pixie and a heavyset chick w/Miss Piggy' nose. That'll never happen again. This kid's got to go, but he'll make it to about 8th or 9th before people realize he has no personality or power in his voice.

AJ needs to stop doing these cliche gay club performances. I'm not enthused about the guys at all this season. I'll probably skip next Tuesday's show since the best guy is maybe the 6th or 7th best singer in the group and the top 12 will be dominated by the chicks.

I agree w/Simon, he's an excellent karaoke singer but there's nothing unique or original about him. He's a 2nd rate Chris Daughtry w/o the sideburns. Jared annoys me. How is this "adventurous" when it sounds exactly like what he did last week?
-
I doubt he'll ever be the same again. He was already injury prone, but a completely blown out knee doesn't bode well for a guy with that kind of frame. It's a shame because he had a lot of potential.

Like it or not, the 100 year headstart for the counting stats is not something you can catch up with no matter how antiquated they might seem. Unless you get a bunch of well respected former players to present the sabremetric side of things, it's always going to seem like something that only "nerds" understand. Then when you factor in that meatheads like Kruk get national TV gigs, it doesn't seem likely that it'll happen. In most things, people don't like change, and anything that requires thought will likely get pushed to the side for something that doesn't. For example, you might understand what VORP is and how to arrive at said number but let's be blunt, most fans are not as intelligent as a stat guy, they're not as interested in utilizing their brains when it comes to a game, and that's how a guy like Ryan Howard hitting a lot of HRs might make him seem like a better choice for MVP than Pujols even though there are about 100 stats he'd fall behind Pujols in on a regular basis. There's nothing wrong with wanting to find new ways to enjoy the game, I just think some and I emphasize some stats guys look at those numbers as things that MUST be taken seriously if you want to consider yourself a fan. Both writers were wrong, but the guy who retaliated from BP ultimately harms his side of the argument more by spouting venom instead of taking the chance to explain to Joe Blow what VORP is and what value it has in relation to their interest in the game or comparing players. I hope that makes sense.

Except sabremetrics hasn't enhanced the general public's understanding of anything related to the sport. Most baseball fans don't care about it, and the majority of those that do look down on those that don't just as frequently as it works in the other direction, if not moreso. It's like one group of snobs arguing that another group of snobs has an attitude problem when both sides do. There will never be a day that casual fans will be arguing about VORP, WARP or isoP when talking about why they like to watch the game, or who their favorite player is/was. Baseball's biggest asset is its century plus long history. No one knew what Babe Ruth's VORP was, but they knew his BA, HR and RBI totals, and that's what they'll compare everyone with. The number 755 means something to Joe Blow, as do 3,000 hits or 300 wins. These new stats are not recognizable because when you begin to need an understanding of advanced calculus or statistics to watch a sport, or "increase your understanding" of it, I think that's going too far. I'm sure it enhances the interest for some, but that camp needs to realize most people watch baseball to relax and don't take the game as something to be disected and analyzed by stats you need complex formulas to determine. They just want to see someone club a 450 foot HR or make a game saving catch, not guesstimate how many wins he contributed to the team the prior season or whether some dude's going to regress to the mean.

Apparently Jamal Crawford has a stress fracture in his ankle and may need to have season ending surgery.

The officiating in Chicago/Detroit was awful. The refs handed that one to the Pistons.

Courtesy of CBSsportsline.com. That's the second Broncos player born in 1984 to die in the last 2 months. Wow. Also, I'm all for the Giants doing just about anything they have to to get Willis since Brandon Jacobs can't carry the load.

Well at least now we know why she undeservedly got picked over that last girl.

No, YOU'RE saying that.

When one program clearly creates a new star
naiwf replied to humanoid92's topic in General Wrestling
I'm not really sure this qualifies but does Edge boning Lita and then the subsequent Matt Hardy drama qualify? Before that incident Edge wasn't a legit star, afterwards he was easily the company's top heel. I stopped watching the WWE when he first lost the WWE Title but from the moment the "affair" became common knowledge until then I think Edge was in a completely different stratosphere. I'm not sure if he's there anymore though so that's where I guess someone else can fill in the blanks. -
The majority of Lopez' delivery is STOLEN from Paul Rodriguez who STOLE it from Cheech and Chong. Seriously, why is this thread still going on?
-
Would making separate threads for each division garner enough discussion? I doubt it. The AL East would get more than enough because of Yankees/Sawx, and the NL Central would lead the league in posts just because of viva. I don't think anyone really cares about the teams in the West and while the NL East & AL Central can and should be competitive no one here cares to post enough about it to warrant 6 distinct threads.
-
Nicole & Rudy both got jobbed, but they weren't that good anyway so who cares.
-
In what world would the Suns get worse by adding Jason Kidd? Raja Bell and Kurt Thomas are in their limited rotation. The Suns don't play enough guys as it is, and even though Kidd is a BETTER player they'd be shortening the bench even further. They might have the best top 6 or 7 in the league, but you can't win an NBA title by only playing those guys and no one else. Czech, don't you ever get tired dangling from my nutsack in sports threads? I'm just curious.

Miami's dead. So either New York or New Jersey's going to get crushed by Detroit in the opening round, and there won't be a single good series in the East now. EDIT: Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo ripping Wade for taking a wheelchair to leave the court was hilarious. I'm paraphrasing here but the gist was, "You dislocated your shoulder, you're not paralyzed Dwyane, get up on your 2 feet and walk off the court. Leaving the court on a wheelchair? A WHEELCHAIR? This is a joke. . . A WHEELCHAIR?!?!? COME ON!"

Dialidol has the 4 cuts being Alaina, Amy, Nick and Paul. That would work for me even though Alaina is the closest thing to a "hot" contestant this year. However, everyone buy Lakisha, Antonella and Sundance are within the range for being cut so anything can happen.

Do it Jersey just to fuck up the Suns' playoff push.
