    Australian Open Thread.

Blake is fading fast after choking away set points in the first and a 4-1 lead in the second against Gonzo. How does a bum like this reach # 4 in the world with Fed and Nadal sitting at the top?

    2007 NFL Playoffs

I'd say none. He still has 3 rings and 2 SB MVPs. Now if he throws a season ending pick in a tight playoff game next year, that's when his stock plummets.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

Endy Chavez made one of the best catches in postseason history against the Cards in Game 7 of the NLCS. . . and it didn't matter because his team still lost. If the Colts get blown out by Chicago it makes today a nice little game that ultimately meant nothing. However, if it leads to Peyton finally getting his ring it takes on an even greater historical significance given that he overcame all of the odds, got the monkey off of his back and a dozen other sports cliches.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

They might mention it five times at most. If you wanna be a dumbass and avoid a fresh matchup with lots of things to get excited about, that's fine. Every Super Bowl is a fresh matchup. At least over the past 10 years. I guess I'm a dumbass for not being excited over a champion with A) an embarrassing rush defense, or B) a team starting Rex Grossman that's looked mediocre since they virtually clinched NFC home field in October. Show some respect! You're better than that!

    PlayStation 3

Not sure if this is all that relevant or even accurate, but this article says over 30% of the units shipped may not be sold yet and yet the videogame charts site lists the PS3 as having 0.94 million units sold in Americas and 1.58 worldwide. I know that they also had the Wii selling 4 million units worldwide quite awhile ago, and then amended it to 3.5, while it's now standing at 3.67. I think the whole thing is pretty confusing because I can't tell if it's units shipped or sold and if the same method of documenting "sales" applies to every brand or not.

Didn't the Cardinals have a national following and take part in the least watched WS since everyone had television just a few months ago?

    2007 NFL Playoffs

Dear Indy, Tell Peyton Manning to call me when he wins 3 rings. Sincerely, Tom Brady P.S. You finally beat me, but at least I can go home and seek solace in Gisele Bundchen's snatch. Ha. I'd still rather be Brady

If Manning loses the SB I hope he never sniffs it again. He can't down the Pats and then let a loser like Grossman beat him.

Wow. A guy makes an INT against the Pats and. . . . FALLS DOWN to seal it! Who knew?

    2007 NFL Playoffs

They wasted 19 seconds to get some 15 or so yards. Bad choice not to go with the TO right away.

Brady will answer Manning's TD drive with a pass to none other than Troy Brown. That would seem to be just about ideal for ESPN .

That's a TD folks. No doubt about it.

"Daggum special teams." Brady's doing the Manning Face right now after Caldwell dropped that gimme TD.

    Belichick is pulling a Dungy!

    2007 NFL Playoffs

Why make them replay the down? I don't think the Pats would go for a 51/52 yarder. Now they might be able to get closer on the replayed 3rd down. Well, the massive blitz worked. Dungy and co. get lucky.

I think we might be seeing the Manning Face in Indy in a few short minutes.

Nice 4th down defense from the Colts again.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

Watch PK (or some other Pats guy) mention that Belichick teaches his team to fumble into traffic in such a way that the ball gyrates beyond the D-line into the endzone where a lineman can recover it. Ya know, anything besides admit that that was a lucky play that only the Pats end up pulling off for a TD.

Did Dillon gain like 25 pounds recently? Dude looked (and gassed) like a lineman on that 4th and inches run.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

My answer is simple, Bears fans and Rex Grossman. Bears fans? For a large fanbase, they are really under the radar. Chicago Bears fans are generally likable people. It's the Eagles and Philadelphia fans that are completely unlikable. Rex Grossman is a product of the media trying to create a story. Many QB's have pretty bad games. Manning and Brady had horrible post-season games here and the general attitude is "They'll recover", while Grossman is met with "He'll probably blow it" or "He's a big risk". Rex is just the typical meathead QB. We went through that last year with the NFC's rep in the SB. Ok I'll amend that. TSM Bears fans. Is that better? Maybe if they win this year we can stop hearing about Ditka and the '85 team. It's been two DECADES. It's time to move on.

If they give this to the Bears then the fix is in. He wasn't touched down and tossed the ball away for no reason. It's a double fumble recovered by the Saints. That's the college rule. You need to be touched to be considered down. Scratch my comment on the 75th fumble by the Saints. Fucking bums.
