How does Oregon beat previously unbeaten # 1 UCLA and only move up 1 spot even with a loss to USC in the same week? Had they lost to UCLA and beaten USC it seems like they would have had the same results in the polls and that just doesn't make any sense to me.

They hold him to an unattainable standard because he was a #1 draft pick who forced a team to trade away key draft picks for his services. Held another team hostage to get those demands. He has failed to live up to that and that's why he gets the treatment. If he was a low 1st round pick or didn't cause those waves in addition to the success that Ben, Palmer and now Rivers have managed, he would get a longer leash but playing the way he does in that market isn't a good thing. He earned his negative treatment. Just to add to that if Plax wasn't on the Giants, Eli's numbers would be even worse than they are because he makes at least 10-20 circus catches a year that should have been picked off/dropped. In tonight's game alone Plax saved Eli a pick on the first play, drew a PI on what should have been another INT and made a spectacular grab on another horribly underthrown ball on that 2nd and 30 play. So Eli ended up 2 for 2 for 47 yards (and a 47 yard penalty) on those plays instead of 0 for 3 with 2 INTs. That adds up over the course of a season and even with Burress Eli's still not that much better than a marginal QB.

When you consider Big Ben, Rivers and Losman are all better QBs than Eli, a few others guys from that draft (Shawn Andrews, Fitzy, Hall, Tommie Harris, Steven Jackson, Will Smith & Vilma) have already made the Pro Bowl, and we gave SD Merriman (and a Pro Bowl kicker) with the additional pick(s) I don't see how taking Gallery would have been that much worse when you factor in that we already have the least disciplined, dumbest OL in the league.

It's official, the Giants lost the 2004 draft almost as badly as the Falcons lost the Vick/LT trade. Almost anyone in the 1st Round would have done more for the Giants and cost us less.

Why not just let the Eagles get the TD on the next play, save the time out and take your chances at trying to tie it on the last drive? As it is, 3 knees and a game winning boot ends the season. Coughlin sucks.
-
Eli gives them the tie. The D shits the bed on the subsequent drive. At least America won't have to watch this team play again next week.

What an awesome drive/season killing effort by the O Line.

OSU 31, Florida 14. The game will be over by the half, and Leak will play like he usually does during pressure situations meaning he throws at least 2 picks and 5 or 6 balls in general that will make you wonder just what it was he was trying to accomplish.
-
The Giants will get to the red zone one more time and end up getting yet another meaningless FG or an Eli pick 6 to seal it.
-
For fuck's sake Eli run for 2 yards or hit a receiver in the hands just ONCE this season you useless sack of shit.
-
Thankfully they overturned that retarded initial ruling.
-
Eli chucked one up and Plax jumped over someone to make a catch when it should have been picked. That's been their "best" play so far which means I knew things were not going to go well for Eli. If Eli plays like Rex Grossman on a bad day the Giants can't win. Anyone else watching this game can't feel confident unless Garcia throws a few pick 6's. How did Runyan get 2 cheapshots in, not get a second penalty AND stay in the game after all of that? Bullshit.

The Giants had 3 possessions on the Eagles side of the field and got 7 points. Westbrook waltzed to the end zone unscathed basically. Eli is being Eli. Unlike the homers on this board if my team is playing like shit I don't expect them to win. The Knicks are terrible. The Mets lost all of their starting pitching during the end of last year's regular season and blew their best chance to win a WS since 1986. Rooting in situations like that is pretty stupid when you can pencil in losses unless they play a perfect game/series and the opponents help out too. There's a reason no pro team I really like has won a title since January 27, 1991. Rooting doesn't change things on the field. EDIT: First and goal from the THREE -> 3 points. So they've had 4 possessions in plus territory, held the Eagles to 3 straight 3 and outs, and it's tied. Same old Giants.

They learned that trick from Seattle. See y'all next year since Eli's got 2 or 3 more picks in him. 31-10 Philly sounds about right here.
-
There's Uncle Mo leaving the Giants. Let the blowout begin!
-
If the Giants don't go up 14-0 soon, they will lose this game.
-
I see Eli's already off to the "chuck it deep in the air (underthrown by at least a yard or two of course) and hope Plax jumps over someone to make a play" gameplan. Not a good sign.

If you don't like it, don't read it.

Waaaaaaaaaaaay too much love for the craptastic How I met Your Mother, and not nearly enough for The Shield.
-
Parcells killing Romo and then retiring later in the week will be awesome too.
-
All those prayers to Saint Romo went unanswered and I'm LOVING it. I fully expect my team to get thumped tomorrow, but at least they lasted a day longer than the 'Boys. Tom Brady he ain't.
-
Sucks to be Romo. The Cowboys just outdid the Bengals for worst kick unit in a big spot. LOL!
-
Bogus spot. He didn't make it to the yard line, let alone get to the other side of it. He should have been 2 feet short. EDIT: Good job by the refs getting it right for once. I hate when zebras basically gift someone a yard at a time and give them a first down because it was "close".
