It goes without saying that they'd be 2-7 or 3-6 which is why Peyton already has 2 MVP awards and is working on his 3rd. As I said, if LT ends up with 1800 yards or so rushing, another 600 receiving and 25-30 TDs, Manning CANNOT win the MVP unless the Colts go 16-0.
-
Rivers is having a damn fine season because he's got the best player in the league in the backfield with him. Without LT, the Chargers are probably 3-6 or 4-5 at best. Leave Brees on the team instead of Rivers and the Chargers are probably still 7-2. Having someone who can run for 2000 yards, catch 80+ passes and score 20-30 TDs in a season makes life a helluva lot easier than it would be with anyone else behind you. It's either Manning or LT, and because LT is on pace for a historic season, he gets the nod.

Red Sox fans are the ones always ragging on the Yankees for overspending. You can't do that again after getting Matsuzaka and Drew. No one's saying the Yankees aren't the worst, but the Red Sox can't play the victim card anymore.

I think the whole issue comes down to this, for everyone who will pay upwards of $1,000 to get it at launch, there are likely 5 to 10 people who are waiting for a price drop. If the price tag was $100 lower, I think the amount of people who'd be willing to part with the cash would be exponentially higher. I had to wait about 6-8 months to get a PS2 because I didn't pre-order and no one around here was selling the system unbundled. I won't have an issue waiting a year to get a PS3 at a reduced price, and the launch era "hits" for 1/2 price as well.

Eli was throwing balls 10 yards over his receivers heads with no pressure on him. The guy played like shit. Your defense still gave up 20 points when Eli was terrible, and that's because Feely missed a chippy and they blew some easy chances early. If that's the Bears' 'A' game you have no chance of winning the SB this year. The point I was making is that if average QBs are going to be winning Super Bowls every year, then the entire league will follow that model and I find it boring. I didn't like watching the Ravens, Bucs or Steelers when they did it, so obviously I'm not going to want to see the Bears do it this year. When I don't care about the direction a sport is heading, I stop watching it.

It's hard to root for two chicks who basically have "everything" to get some more. Win or lose this race they'll end up marrying some rich dudes and end up with a house with a white picket fence, a dog and 2.3 children anyway. Bold prediction: The Barbies don't make the Final 3.

You guys better win the division this year. At least the Yankees get a division title every year for their $200 million.

How am I being a sore loser? I said that the Giants would lose the game when they were WINNING 13-3. This was before the 3rd and 22 play. It was before the 2nd half debacle. I've seen them do it enough times to know when a tank is coming. The Bears didn't play their "A" game on defense and still beat the shit out of us in Giants Stadium. Coughlin's stupidity was the crippling blow and there's no doubt about that. The Giants wouldn't have come back from down 24-20 with a punt on the FG try, but at least they wouldn't have been embarassed on national TV yet again. Again, where did I say the Bears didn't deserve the 'W' or that the Giants did? I predicted a 1 point win at home, which told you how confident I was in that game.

Skies is my favorite console RPG ever. I can't seem to find the power cord for my Dreamcast or I'd probably be playing it right now.
-
I read it wrong, nevermind. Even still the franchise QB's listed got their teams there. They didn't manage the games from Week 1 through SB.
-
The Ravens defense won them that SB. Dilfer was just along for the ride. The Steelers running game and defense won them that SB. Big Ben was along for the ride for the most part as evidenced by the Steelers not losing much from last year's team and being terrible for most of this season. If the Bears win this year Rex Grossman will get a ring in spite of himself.
-
Oden says he won't come out, but why stay for another year when he'd more than likely be the # 1 pick in this upcoming draft? Matt Leinart should provide the best example of why that's a risky move.
-
Peyton and the Ravens 'D' of that era would be equal to the New England Pats' dynasty. That's the problem with the game manager. They don't win you anything on their own. Trent Dilfer on the Pats would be a team losing early and often in the postseason if they got that far.
-
Why? It's not like either was a central component of their team's rise to the Super Bowl. Credit the defenses. Are you offended that Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won rings too? Yes. Especially since Dilfer beat the Giants to get his. That's not entirely true, it's just the fact that QBs in the league get judged by how many rings they've won even when they had little, or in Dilfer's case NOTHING to do with winning it. I think "game managers" are bad for football, much like I hate the way baseball is turning into a game over who has the best middle relief because starters can't pitch 7 innings and closers can't pitch 3 days in a row. I'm not saying we need a league of superstar QBs, but when the media spends weeks/years blowing mediocre QBs who won playoff games and/or titles because their defense was legendary, that doesn't sit well with me. As someone whose team has always been about run, run, run, smashmouth defense that style is very boring to watch even when my team is playing it, so I can only imagine how much worse it is for someone not rooting for them. Since the NFL is a copycat league, I won't be interested in seeing guys putting less and less responsibility on the QB whose job these days seems to be to try not to lose. I'd much rather see a QB go out and win a game or lead his team to victory, not go 20 for 35 for 175 yards with nothing but underneath stuff and hand it off 30 times.

At least the Grizzlies' shitty season will end with a high draft pick and Pau back next year. If they get lucky they could end up with that Oden kid and be blessed the way the Spurs were the year they tanked and got Duncan.
-
USC shouldn't be ahead of Florida as it is, so beating Notre Dame who is ranked higher than Arkansas will be sufficient to get them there regardless of what the Gators do between now and then.
-
The Bears defense wasn't that impressive tonight and the Giants still lost by 18 at home. What a shitty effort by the home team from the allowed 3rd and 22 on a DRAW of all things, to the end of the game. Coughlin must go. The disclipinarian shit isn't working, he makes stupid decisions routinely and I'm sick of seeing him needing a diaper change on the sidelines after every play. His postgame press conference made him seem like an even bigger dunce. "I know Feely missed from closer on that side of the field, but I thought he could make it this time and we needed to try and win ugly because that's how you beat Da Bears!" Way to use logic tough guy. Even if the guy doesn't go 108 to the house, the odds are Feely misses, you're still down 4 and the Bears have it at your 42. If it had been 23-20, by all means try to tie it, but when a field goal only gets you to the point you need another one to take the lead, you're 50+ yards away, it's GIANTS FUCKING STADIUM, at night, in the rain, in NOVEMBER just punt the ball and play "defense" you stupid douche. [/rant] It's looking more and more like Bears/Colts will be the Super Bowl matchup and if Rex Grossman ends up winning a ring the year after Big Ben I may just have to give up on the NFL for good.
-
You have to catch it in the air in that instance. Coughlin is a fucking chump for trying it, the team just showed why they'll win the division and get stomped in the 1st playoff game they play again. Can we never play on Sunday night again please? New York City sports teams should be renamed New Choke City.
-
Only Coughlin would try a 52 yarder into the swirling wind. Only the Giants would let the guy walk it in 108 yards untouched. This coach and team both fucking suck.
-
Not to this version of Rex Grossman. You underestimate the Giants when they decide they don't want to win a game that should have been over at the half. 31-13 will be the final score.
-
I think this is the first season I can remember where NONE of the final 5 teams deserve to win due to either stupidity or just a general quality that makes them unlikable.
-
13-10. This is exactly like the Colts game, except I don't think we ever led that one. Fucking ridiculous to give up a 3rd and 22 and then 7 points on that drive.
-
The Giants are going to lose this game. They should be up by about 17 right now, instead it's just 10.
-
That looks about right. All of the top 8 have critical games against someone else in the top 8, and that pretty much guarantees at least 2 teams will be pissed off. If ever we needed a playoff, this is the year.
-
It looks like Florida will be # 4, Notre Dame and Arkansas will decide 5/6 and Rutgers gets 7th.
