If we can just hold onto this one, I'm pretty confident the Giants can win the division. Washington's done. Dallas has a QB controversy and McNabb's puking during the easy half of Philly's schedule. It's amazing how much changed in just 4 weeks.
-
I was only able to follow the first half via the NFL.com scoreboard, how did Arrington blow out his achilles?

The Cowboys are within 5, in a game that should've been blown wide open before Eli got Bledsoeitis. The more things change. . .

That Miracle in Michigan play still makes me cringe.

If it isn't, we'll certainly be told it is. Maybe my beef with the Michigan at #2 argument is that they sorta came out of nowhere and didn't skyrocket up the rankings until the thrashing of Notre Dame, and Notre Dame isn't great. You can make the "they're winning still, even if it's close" point, but I think they'd be embarassed in a BCS bowl. Say, kinda like last year. ahhhh....so USC should be number 2 because you thought USC was in the top 5 before any actual games were played...gotcha....and "Notre Dame isnt that great"....who are the great teams to you then? USC should be #2 because they haven't done anything to lose that position. Michigan's up there, I'm just not buying them as the second best team in the country right now. I'd put them at #5, with West Virginia, Texas, USC, and Ohio State above them. Yes, a one-loss Texas team. Slayer, I was talking about Notre Dame. Anyone who thought they had a chance against Ohio State last year in the Fiesta Bowl was deluding themselves. Michigan was sorta middling last year outside of that crazy-ass game against Penn State that people forget about since USC/ND was the same day and happened to be wild also. I think you'd still list OSU ahead of Michigan even if Michigan beats OSU at OSU.

YES! I hope Peter gets his ass WHIPPED when someone sees him in the street. Sarah deserved better, and at least she figured it out there unlike Victoria in a past season.
-
Peter has now wrested the title of Biggest Douche in Reality TV History by making his crippled girlfriend do TWO straight climbing challenges he could have done while he lounges from a distance. I don't like wishing injury on anyone, but his smug ass deserves it.

No, but it's only taken the polls about 5 or 6 weeks to catch up to reality.

Fatass Menafee has been butchering pop culture references and sports name for years in the NYC area. I have no idea how he's kept a job this long. Big Ben and Hasselbeck going down in the same week as both of their teams lose is an adequate trade for the slurping Vick will receive for the next 7 days, 6 if you count that Tuesday will be T.O. day regardless of what he does tomorrow night. How long will this year's Colts team go undefeated before blowing the big game in the postseason? I haven't looked at the schedule but I'll say they go 11-0 before finishing 13-3 or 14-2 and losing to the Pats or Chargers at home.

Michigan is finally # 2, and for once it's where it counts.

I am. With Oakland's "big" win today, Miami might just be the worst team in the league right now. Worse than Arizona? They blew a big lead twice in a row then lost to the team everyone pegged as the first 0-16 team ever. Once Arizona muffed that game last week I think a lot of people could have foreseen this one as a "hangover game". Oakland had no expectations coming into '06. Miami is coached by a "genius" and was supposed to go to the Super Bowl this year, and the only thing they'll be competing for in the 2nd half of the season is how high their draft pick will be. Miami has more talent than the other two teams. The Dolphins have earned every bit of their 1-6 record.

TD to Wayne. Game over. Season over for the Deadskins.

True, but the Eagles were the ELITE of the NFC earlier this year according to some (even though they STILL haven't beaten anyone of note and have lost to the Saints and Bucs, and choked against the Giants). Their murderous stretch of the schedule is still to come, and at this point they'll be lucky to finish 8-8.
-
What happened to the Eagles? Could it be that those powerhouses lost to the Bucs?!? I don't expect the Giants to win tomorrow night, but if they do I think they've got control of the NFC East.

How is $600 over half of $8,000? It was intended to make the models look uniform and seems entirely possible that he'd spend 7.5% of his budget on something each model was supposed to wear. Everyone else came in "well under budget". Without the wigs, Jeffrey also came in "well under budget".

I agree with you about the protection stuff. I didn't mean to imply that what Mirror Niki does is random, but she certainly goes the extra mile just for shits and giggles as far as I can see. The simple fact that she was so organized when it came to the murders, clean up, etc just screamed that whole organized, morality free serial killer vibe to me. Maybe I've just been watching too much Criminal Minds lately.
-
12 wigs at $50 each = $600. That's entirely reasonable.

Considering he's basically said he's standing by the retirement quote I only have two words for him, and they are "fuck" and "Tiki". Why start a shitstorm like this in the first half of the season when they're right in the mix for a division title? He could have quietly told Coughlin and management his plan to give them a heads up, but instead he decides to be a mini T.O. and make the rest of the season about whether he will or will not change his mind. What a dick.

I'd do that deal, but I wouldn't give up our best starting pitching prospect, our 8th inning guy AND Milledge for Manny who is a well known headcase. We need arms more than bats at this point although the corner outfield spots need to be upgraded too. The biggest problem is that Lastings was overrated before and now he won't command much of anything in return. People were throwing around names like Zito and Willis for him and others before, now he's the throwaway part of any deal.
-
Yeah, the Mets need more offense and really should give up all 3 of their chips to get it.
-
Those same Cards fans didn't really set the NLCS numbers on fire this year. Detroit's not bringing Red Sox type eyes with them, WS or not. Not to say that Mets/Tigers was on par with Yankees/Dodgers but St. Louis/Detroit isn't the kind of matchup that casual fans will devote all of their free time to watching either. There's no team to root against and with the expection of Pujols there's no one to watch if you don't root for either of the two teams playing. I hope Detroit wins, but I certainly won't watch them do it or fail trying.
-
Yeah, I mean who wanted to see the best team in each league for the vast majority of the season emerge from nowhere to play each other when we could have Tigers/Cards and their illustrious history instead. I'm gonna guess the answer will be very few people outside of those two cities will watch the WS because Tigers/Cards is the definition of BLEH especially when no one expects the Cards to do anything.

When you've never seen a championship it's easier to adjust to not having any. It's kind of like sex that way. It's far worse not to get any when you've had some and know how good it feels, especially when your scumbag neighbor gets to bang models year after year and brags about it all the time. If I'd known October 1986 - January 1987 was going to be the highlight of my career as a fan I probably wouldn't have gotten hooked on sports. It's depressing to suck annually but it's even worse when you get your hopes up in isolated years and get embarassed like the '99 Knicks, the 2000 Mets and the Giants team that made the Ravens look like da greatest of all time, or even worse when you shit the bed and lose a winnable series like the 1994 Knicks or become the 1 team out of 100 to lose Game 7 at home after winning Game 6 like the 2006 Mets.
