how was it? was eddie bonine actually good? they were singing his praises but he gave up 6 earned runs. the tigers are making their move ....on the nl west. sweet!
-
tigers sweep the central leading white sox. verlander pitches complete game 4 hitter yesterday. cabrera hits walk off homerun. all is well in tigerland again ...for this series.
-
deltron is boring compared to i wish my brother george was here and no need for alarm. just one man's opinion. although madness is pretty great
-
no big deal, but the pitcher that the tigers traded half of their farm system and are paying over 10 million/year has been optioned to single A ball. it sounds fairly indefinate, too. go tigers.
-
jeremy bonderman: out for year. what a season, tigers fans! maybe they can trade off a few players and rebuild for next year.
-
nevermind. anyone know anything about ryan perry outside of the generic draft descriptions?
-
all of these games were very competitve with pittsburgh coming an inch or two away from taking game 6 into overtime.
-
today is the day hopefully for some changes. lets get things right before they plays the indians. they need this series.

next year will be the test for the wings. i'm sure there are going to be a few solid players leaving the team. they have tons of young defenseman just waiting. if the players like eriksson, meech, kindl, and quincey come into their own, i have no doubts that this team can beat anyone. their top 9 players are locked down for the forseeable future, except zetterberg, but i'm sure that will be taken care of. seriously, franzen and filpulla are only going to get better. and they're second liners. having helm as a fourth line centre. keeping drapper and cleary together. if they resign stuart, they'll have the best defensive core in the league. i was so impressed with the domination of the wings. although in the last minute, i was worried. they seemed snake-bitten after giving up the game in the last minute in game 5. another key componant of all of this is mike babcock. this guy is firstly an amazing leader who doesn't bitch and moan like other coaches, he is very low key, which suits the team perfectly. but this guy also understands every intracacy of each player. whenever he switches his line-ups he found the right connection and always changed the momentum of the game. putting franzen with zetterberg and datsyuk instead of holmstrom when it was 2-1 was genius. franzen skates better and was their defensive third line specialist when draper was out earlier. putting hudler and helm on the fourth line while using hudler's speed on the second powerplay. little things like that makes babcock a great coach, and the red wings so much more dynamic than any team in the league.

listen for a lot of the year cabrera has been hitting .275-.280. these aren't allstar numbers, but he hasn't exactly been a total flop. i don't understand why the tigers don't place him 3rd in the order and leave him there. he has hit there and 4th his entire career. give him more than one game there. he'll turn it around. the most frustrating part of the tigers is that EVERYONE is having a down year, from pitching to hitting. from granderson to verlander to cabrera to bonderman to polanco to renteria. and on and on. shouldn't that be indicitive of poor coaching? or the coaching failing to reach the players? this team is a total disaster. everytime leyland promises major overhauls he makes one minor move and nothing else. seriously, playing marcus thames full time and batting him third isn't going to be the answer. and even leyland knows this. zumaya and rodney will give the tigers a solid shot to the arm, but both were mediocre to awful last year so i don't exactly see them turning this around. its time to cut the dead fat (rogers & robertson) and time to experiment with some of their young arms. maybe even porcello. they have one kid who has thrown two near no-hitters. in know thats not the majors, but it may warrant a try. but there's so many candidates to be dfa'd or dealt, i don't even know where to start. edit: i wouldn't be against inge returning to 3rd base. i like cabrera at first. but inge playing great defense at 3rd and hitting 9th wouldn't the the worsr thing in the world. everyone needs those meat & potatoes guys. the worst trade that the tigers will be remembered for this past off-season won't be the florida deal because i still believe in BOTH cabrera and willis, but the renteria for jurrjens & hernendez deal. jrrjens was great last eyar in his starts. and is doing well now.

casey fossum currently has an era of 108.00 good work, pal. and by the way, can anyone explain to me why marcum thames is hitting 3rd while miguel cabrera hits 6th? jim leyland keeps making such ridiculous decisions. i don't want to be part of the knee-jerk majority that calls for their manager's heads whenever things go bad, but there are about 10 puzzling things that leyland has done with this team that make no sense. the loyalty to kenny rogers, nate robertson, and todd jones is ridiculous. all have eras above 5, and the two starters may even be closer to 6. treating their best starter gallaraga like a second class citizen while staying loyal to the vets is a problem. edit: fossum is up to 135.00

holy shit the tigers are bad. i once stood up to bruiser about the tiger's bullpen. i am wrong. they had a solid month. now they're in shambles. two blown leads to the a's, and another egg by nate notsogreat robertson and the tigers are on the verge of being swept by the anemic a's. i really like the a's, but honestly, their best hitter is hitting like .250. there has to be discussions of serious overhauls soon. even in the event of rebuilding for next year. shocking, really.

I don't know how you can say this and at the same time say that Cam'ron is "fucking trash." In terms of pure flow/word-play Cam's best stuff absolutely slays just about everything Wayne's ever done. Also, Purple Haze is everything that Tha Carter III desperately wants to be (and I say this as someone who likes Wayne) holy shit you really don't know what you're talking about.
-
There's a lot of adjectives you can throw at Wayne but "consistent" really isn't one of them. The guy has absolutely no concept of self-editing and just releases every half-assed "freestyle" he comes up with while high off his ass on cough syrup, resulting in a pretty low wheat/chaff ratio. have you listened to the new album? i understand the glut of freestyles and mixtapes. this album is different. hit after hit. after hit.

no rapper uses their voice better than wayne. his lyrics are great, but his vocal range with his raps makes it much more powerful. i don't see wayne as being a pitchfork creation. out of anyone on that list, i'd say pitchfork has given ghostface a career rennaisance when in reality his rhymes don't make sense and he's made the same album for almost 5 years. btw, i bet all of the people listed, except jay, would admit wayne is the best right now.

interesting first post but yer barkin up the wrong tree looking for tsat shit here ....i think
-
phew - ill take two because of vx different taste and admitted delay in selections. the jesus and the mary chain - psychocandy (1985) kanye west - graduation (2007) i hated graduation at first because i wanted a rap album. it isn't a rap album. each song is designed to be its own entity. its not even a real album to me. thats ok. glow in the dark was unbelievable as well, which probably has something to do with me taking it.
-
the album is propelled by great producers just giving weezy an already amazing canvas to just go crazy on. his style is incomparable right now. best rapper alive? i'd say. i don't think there's ever been a more dynamic rapper ever.
-
ya both the new wolf parade and lil wayne albums are pretty rad. check them both. my top three for 08 for so far is wolf parade at mount zoomer lil wayne tha carter iii rick ross trilla

i got a bad feeling that edwin may take one of my next two
-
ok come on
-
i wikied him, i bet he sucks.

one bad period did them in. two weak pittsburgh goals. the red wings took it to the pens in the third who scraped by the skin of their teeth. i don't think detroit fans should be too worried.
