neil smith is out as the gm on the island. man, ted nolan went to work early. he successfully got his gm fired, too. in a month no less. maybe smith quit? doubtful.

I'm not so sure about that now. The White Sox starting pitching has really gone south lately. If they don't turn it around, the teams in the East could really battle them down the stretch. i suppose the whitesox/tigers series will be a good indication. i just hope the tigers dont get swept again. they've got the sox on the ropes with a 4.5 lead. well, should been 5.5, but thats ok. but if they sweep the sox, they can have a commanding lead moving into august.

but, there's really only a game seperating all of those teams. they'll be playing each so much down the stretch that it being a three team race shouldn't make too much of a difference. the bosox looked less than human against a disappointing a's team this past weekend. if the jays get hot, they could easily slip past the both of them. or, at least one. but the wild card is pretty much sewn up in the central.
-
the bluejays WILL get someone. but i doubt it'll be anyone who'll help. but riccardi will look like a dunce if he forked over a load of money to improve the team in the offseason to only neglect the last piece or two at the deadline. for public relations, he'll do it. edit: everyone needs pitching. to get a really good pitcher, teams like the yanks & jays will accept being hijacked for one.
-
Lets be honest. The last time the Blue Jays mattered was 1993. The Blue Jays haven't finished above 3rd place since and you are giving ESPN a fuck you because everybody knows that the Jays are only the third best team in the Division. Why dont you wait until the Jays show/prove something before you starting cursing off websites and people for not showing your team any love. ok. the jays are closer to catching the bosox than the white sox are to catching the tigers. yet, the white sox have been considered the best team all year. the jays deserve more credit than they get from many americans. they're a pitcher or two away from being real scary in the east. and i think most people with any knowledge, know this.

i should listen to that clap your hands album. well, i did, and quickly wrote it off. but i sometimes dismiss great albums. sometimes.
-
ya i have. its quite downbeat. which in itself, is fine. but nowhere near as fun as apologies. i like everything that combo of frog eyes, destroyer, and wolf parade do. and all their subsidiaries.
-
there are a few dead periods in the album. like a song or two which prevents it from being nearly immaculate. but really, its phenomenal. it makes me want to punch a hole in the roof of my room when i dance.

i hope he knows that we're just joking here. the accident itself is fucking horrible.
-
thing is, we can laugh about it 'cause we're all friends, 'dig?
-
i don't think my heart is big enough for my wolf parade love. i'm listening to side b from apologies. holy shit. its mind blowing. its undesigned dance rock.
-
i think the next logical step is to call on me on my former love for sublime. it was an activety both you & milky enjoyed for a period of time.

that sucks. sorry to hear, man. luckily, it doesn't take two hands to jerk yourself off.

are you kidding? Totally kidding. I like Huff and I think he's a great addition to the team. I was just making a mockery of the oodles of bandwagon fans over at the astros.com messageboard who were talking about Huff like he was the Second Coming last nite after he hit a 3-run shot and calling for his head tonite after he didn't get a hit. thats good. im glad i asked. i was about to freak out. although i dont think aubrey will do much for the 'stros.

ya, i don't doubt the arcade fire's sincerity. i'd love to see tv on the radio live. they're so great.
-
the arcade fire were almost too perfect live. there was no spontanaity. no rawness. no fuck ups. it was like watching the cd live. wolf parade, who i saw with the arcade fire, were like a speeidng locomotive. carefree, fast, raw, and waiting to crash at any time. it maintained the orignal structures yet allowed for improvisation - which could ultimately be a success or a fuck up. but its the danger of it that made the live show exciting.

i've finally been able to widdle my top 3. the 3 albums that totally define music for me; in the same way edwin describes. which encompasses everything that is great. something that is perfect. a time in place that no one, even the artists themselves, have ever touched. 1. blonde on blonde 2. big pink 3. london calling the 1-2 combo shows how fruitful the original pairing of the band & dylan really was. its a utopian musical marriage that'll never be topped.
