what is this? what is the state of america? was i too busy making yo momma jokes & being a twat to realise that any of this other stuff existed?

i think foley takes himself a little too seriously. because of the praise his ecw interviews got, he believes people would care about a 20 minute self-serving, monotonous, and cliched anti-hardcore? come on, mick. do something original if you're gonna come back. this whole heel turn hasn't made any sense. its boring. and its the reason that this whole fued is shitty. that & the fact the funksters next investment looks to be a walker.

hilarious. he slams hart for not dropping the belt to michaels. then on the next questions admits to refusing to drop the belt to bret. whatta guy, that hogan. of course everything with him is a work, but still.

you guys take this too seriously. just like mole said, if ecw doesnt work out, delete the folder. whats the big deal? quit treating this board like its some impeccable wrestlnig message board that must follow specific guidelines to satisfy its thousands of members. if people want it, make it.

well we should talk about how we're trying to peg the msot defining artist on north america. in europe & abroad it is dance music that is the most popular. so in some ways, daft punk may hold this distinction overseas. maybe.

people have to know who the band is before they can be called defining artists. cobain gets in because of his death. had he lived, he'd gone the way of vedder or cornell or michael stipe. people woulda grown tired of him by about 1996.

I.E. all things that define the current generation (late-90s/early-00s)... hence Eminem defining a generation. I don't see how that doesn't make perfect sense. how does a 4 year span define a generation? by those terms, donna summer defined a generation. so did joy division. defining a generation involves several albums over an extended amount of time. not silly little fads.

tell me about spank rock.

nice usage of the word "perilously", czech... czech, who is apparently a jazz afficianado, stating there are only so many chords an artist can use is quite hilarious. what happened to the adverturism in music? or are they only supposed to stay within the appropriate guidelines of making a mianstream rock single? there's so much people can do. by your logic, rock music is a stagnant art without any true artistic merits whatsoever. its almost an apologetic defense of the red hot chili peppers laziness. which is funny.

ya jay is a good answer. although a few things here are misleading. jay had two horrible albums that went back to back. from 97-00 he wasn't really that great. but seemingly from the blueprint onward he built an empire that encompassed everything you've explained. petty feuds? ha! give me a break. i think jay's overall greatest impact on pop music will be who he is signing & promoting under the def jam label with new artists like rihanna & such.

no and the man in blak is the only one to give a real answer to my previous question. thank you.

make ecw its own. don't be silly. its own.

i sorta think daft punk should define our generation. who's with me?

not to sound ignorant. but WHY is radiohead so great? i ain't gonna denounce them or anything. but i want to know why. what is it about their music that makes them so revered? i don't think i get it.

hey cheech, are you on of marshall mathers bastard step brothers? give it up, man. i am discreditting why eminem has become so popular. there's no charm involved. edwin is on to something. his first album did trigger something in the minds of people. it made them listen. but the second album is what made him extremely popular. and for what reason? honestly. for a diss song on christina aguilera. or a simulation of the murder of his wife. i'm not debasing his music because of the morality issues but rather because of his laziness. there's no artform in what eminem became. don't give me the typical "he was a respected underground artists" bullshit. who fucking cares. he abandoned all of that to become a star. none of his past translated into "just lose it". he won't be remembered as a great artist. he'll be remembered as a "controversial figure" in music who depended on gay bashing, mysogyny, & lame duck comedy to tap into the braindead tasteless segment of society who tolerated his inane bullshit.

eminem blew up for the exact same reason limp bizkit did. eminem didn't implode because rap is a much more stable genre than rap rock. but in all honesty, i don't see anything different between the two artists. no need to call me stupid. eminem "quit" for a reason. he's become a parody of everything thats wrong with music. he may have talent but its the same morons (see: tsm) with pierced eye brows & misled aggression who bought up all of his albums. not by anyone with any discernable musical taste. and i stand by that.
