The ONE and Only College Basketball...

I saw the Illinois-Purdue game last night, and it was really good game. Both teams were going back and forth scoring. Illinois now have the share of the Big 10 regular title, but if they beat Ohio State then they win it out right. Depaul needs this game tonight against Cincy, hopefully Delonte Holland will show up for this game.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

Wayman Tisdale- was a good player with the kings back when they sucked. Len Bias- who knows Armon Gilliam- Hammer was a solid player, he's was a double-double machine Rik Smits- He had some game, good shooting big man but the foot injuries killed him. Danny Ferry- I remembered so much hype about him coming out, he didn't ban out at all. Gary Payton- Hall of Fame PG Kenny Anderson- Should've been a better player, he should've worked on his Jump shot. Alonzo Mourning- A good player, HOF player, Wasn't all that good offensively, but effective. Shawn Bradley- Whomp Whomp, he should be happy that he has a job in the NBA. Jason Kidd- He always makes up for what he lacks (jumper) in. Can make any team better. Antonio McDyess- He was a good player untill the knee problems, he won't be the same player, and will be going down the Tom Guggs route. Marcus Camby- Should be WAY better then he is as far as offense, but injuries have limit his game a bit. Keith Van Horn- Read Camby, should be a WAY better player then he is, KVH is just too soft. Mike Bibby- Solid player, good clutch playoff player. Steve Francis- He should play the 2G than PG, Mobley will be gone by next year. Stromile Swift- Came out too soon, not second pick worthy. Good defender, could be a Kenyon Martin type player that can finish in the open court. Tyson Chandler- As a bulls fan, I watch/follow the Bulls on a consistent basis. Watching him play, his offense basically is all hustle right now and average 13pts before he got hurt, I think he has that Ben Wallace type defense ability that could change a game. If Coach Skiles wasn't focusing on Curry so much, I think Skiles should teach Chandler some offensive skills. Jay Williams- I have thank him for giving the Bulls Kirk Hinrich, Hinrich has a better rookie season at the PG than Jay did. I hope he does comeback but he won't be they same, he will make a nice backup to Hinrich. Darko Millicic- As long as Larry Brown is coach, Darko won't get any playing time. I see Darko playing for another team.

Bill O'Reilly Vs. Ludacris pt 2

When did Ozzy talk about worshipping the Devil again? When was the last time he bit the head off of a bat? A man that America loves who swears a good deal isn't the same as a generic rapper who spouts off about fucking bitches, slapping hos, and shooting haters. Not the same at all. Oh, wait, Ludacris has had some great songs, I forgot. Like..."Southern Hospitality"..."dirty south women give dirty south head"...or "What's Your Fantasy"...a song encouraging promiscuity...yes, let this man sell our Pepsi products! He's a fine, upstanding young man! Name me one song where Ozzy talks about stuff like that. If you really want to compare the two, call Bill O'Reily a hypocrite, let's get some comparisons going. How in the holy hell are you saying that the two are similar? Its funny that Bill doesn't mention that Luda has his own charity foundation. Getting him off Pepsi is fine and all, but then turn around then replaced him with some pill popping, washed up rocker. I thought Bill was all about family values and Osbornes doesn't resemble any family values that Billy talks about. Billy is a hypocrite plan and simple. Oh by the way, where was Billy at when Dr. Dre was doing Coors beer commericials? or Jay-z when he was doing Heinekein and having his own shoe deal with Rebok? Billy has a personal beef Luda IMO.

    ^No he won't, he's career 12pt scorer to me.
  7. The situation is bad either way, Aristide is corrupt, and the Rebels are not helping. People of Hati will be fucked for a while. Aristide might as well stay with the US officials, because if he go back to Hati it's mostly likely he's going to get killed.

That's another thing that draws fans away from the NBA. They do a lottery based system but they don't do it in front of the fans, they only give the results. Thus there's no way of saying they couldn't be rigging it. How else could the Cavs get the home town hero Lebron James? Of course it is rigged. Let's not forget the Knicks conviently getting the top pick and drafting Patrick Ewing, and Jordan just happened to have won the lottery and had the #1 pick when he was GM/ VP of Player Personnel of the Wizards Yep, and they got Kwame Brown, Brown is a medicore player. So it wasn't like the Wizards got the steal of the #1 pick.

    Justin Timberlake hosting Motown 45

Actually, Jon B. is married to a black woman. I guess that Jon doesn't dance so he doesn't get as much attention as Timberfake. Ripper, you talk about Jon B's comment getting pops from black audience, I find that funny because look at Timberfake, he went from curly hair, clean shaving, and squeaky soft voice to bald fade, goatee, and talking with a deep drawl in his voice. Its obvious the label covinced him to change his image so he can appeal to black listeners. Im glad Justin got removed to host the show, so I don't have hear him being in forced ebonic/slang mode. I mean they could have Teena Marie hosting or that McDonald guy from the Dobbie Brothers hosting, instead of Timberfake. But can you name one boy band member that still acts like the pretty boy studio made thing they were before they got away from the group. Look at the members of N-Sync and compare their look, and how they act as opposed to what they were like when they came out. They were caricitures of human beings when they first stepped out on the scene. THAT is a studio made persona. And how in the flipping hell does Timberlake act "black". I just don't see all this "he's fake" thing that people want to toss on him now. I honestly don't care for his music, but jeez, the guy acts like a normal human being now and not that THING that he was in N-sync. At least that is what I see. Justin is still a pop star who's attempting to do Pop/R&B. Ever since Justin went solo, he changed his image I saw right through it. Its similar to the Vanilla Ice suitation in terms of appealing to black listeners. To me, Justin doesn't respect the R&B culture, he's just exploiting it to make money. I think he's talented but his image is fake.

    Busta Rhymes signs with Aftermath

I guess it was a good signing, Dre dropped the ball with Rakim so I don't how Busta is going to work out. I don't know if Busta has an album in him anymore, but he should do well on guest appearances. I have a feeling the Detox album well be more of a compilation album then a solo album since Dre doesn't rap and proably do a couple of songs that were ghostwriting anyway.

    Justin Timberlake hosting Motown 45

TIMBERLAKE OFF MOTOWN 45 TV SHOW: ABC bows to pressure from activists and public. Justin Timberlake (Feb. 23, 2004) *When it was announced that Justin Timberlake had been chosen to co-host the upcoming Motown 45th anniversary, you could smell the funk that "decision" created a thousand miles away. To say folks were pissed, would be putting it mildly. Not only were activists like Ali upset, so were the pundits. “The selection of Timberlake as co-host of this Motown special is a cultural insult to the black community,” said Najee Ali, executive director of Project Islamic Hope. “Before the Super Bowl scandal Timberlake had gotten a ‘Black folks pass,’” Tanya Kersey, wrote for EURweb. “But then he sold out Janet [Jackson] to save his own skin, showing his true colors in the process. It’s a classic case of profiting from black culture, but jumping ship when things get hot. ... And now Timberlake plans to co-host the ‘Motown 45’ television special? I think not!” Well, guess what? Justin's about to make a lotta black folk happy; he's got a convenient, er, perfect excuse for bailing out of "Motown 45" says the show's Executive Producer Jeff Margolis. “When Justin was asked to host the Motown 45th Anniversary special, he gladly accepted, but alerted us to the fact that he was in talks to star in his first motion picture with Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman and that at the last minute there could possibly be a scheduling conflict. The movie in fact is scheduled to be shot in Canada at a time which no longer allows Justin to host the “Motown 45” special. He has canceled all television appearances through the end of April to allow him to concentrate on making the movie.” Yo, I heard this on the radio on the Doug Banks Show this morning that Motown had already scrap the idea of having Justin hosting the show a long time ago. But get this the execs of Motown records didn't have any involvement with show until recently. Mark Goloblatt (sp?) was producing the show. How can you have a show on about Motown without Motown getting involved?

    Justin Timberlake hosting Motown 45

Joke of the night right here. Justin is aight nothing special IMO. To me he's just a white Usher. Jon B> Justin But you said earlier that you had no problem with Usher hosting, so why would the WHITE Usher be a problem? Because White Usher is just a wanna be. But the difference to me is that Usher eventhough he makes pop music could and can make contempary traditional R&B songs that I haven't heard from white Usher yet. I think Timberflake has a fake R&B image and I can't believe how some people bought into that bullshit, listening to Timberflake's songs doesn't make me think Motown Sound. Like I said Jon B (white contempary R&B singer) would be a better host then White Usher. Matter fact I think Motown artists (that are still alive) should host the show. The only reason why the network execs got white Usher to host is because they want to draw white viewers, because most especially white 16-30 demographic wouldn't care or don't know about Motown music history.

^ See that shows you and most of you on this board don't get it, all they're basically saying that Justin's type of music isn't really what you would think of Motown exactly, which I can agree on, this has nothing to do with him being white.

Scenarios you made up with P. Diddy hosting Country music awards would never happen, because CMA's wouldn't allow it in the first place. I doubt P.Diddy would wanna host the CMA's anyway. Im not saying its race thing with Justin, but I think his music doesn't embody/resemble the Motown sound thats why I feel he's doesn't deserve to host the show. If Jon B host the show I wouldn't have problem with it. I would have a problem if say Ginuwine hosted because dude sucks.

There's no such thing as reverse racism. Reverse Racism=Reaction Its like 50 Cent hosting some Heavy Metal awards or being casted as James Bond. Oh, To Spicy when I was referring our I meant black people and since I happen to be black I figured to include myself.

So your saying that Motown is just another black award show is just stupid. Maybe there wouldn't be alot Black award shows popping up if our achievements wouldn't be excluded or recognized by non black award shows. But, Timberflake shouldn't be hosting because he doesn't embody anything that is Motown. I rather have Jon B host the show if the need a white guy atleast he's real R&B. I think Usher would be good choice to host it.

    Malcolm X......

^ Well, Jesus didn't go to Tech U. eventhough he banged those two chicks, I know he did go to Big State for his pops and all but Big State had better looking females anyway. But there's girls that are like that, if they think you got a shot at going pro and making millions they'll be drooling/slobbing all over your dick.

I think "Girl 6" was the worst movie Spike ever directed. Mo Betta Blues: was ok Crooklyn: Was ok Clockers: Didn't like it all that much Do the right thing: Great X: Great He got Game: One of my favorite B-Ball movies

    Malcolm X......

You really do have a flair for melodrama dont you?? It was a horrid movie. I'd kill to see "Malcom X" directed by a competent director. That being said, yes, Denzel was screwed. I suppose that his Oscar for the blah "Training Day" was a make-up for that oversight. I feel Spike is racist (in "He Got Game", one of his characters said, basically "White girls give it up for nothing. Black girls make you work for it." A little racist, no?) and that his films are, universally, rather bad. Why he's the most prominent black director is beyond me as he clearly is not the most talented. -=Mike About that line, as a former HS athlete and being around star athletes back in high and some people in college that I know say its true. I mean every star in any sport are gonna have groupies not matter of race, but white girls tend to throw themselves at black athletes more than black women just because they're good at their sport and they think that if a brotha have potential to go pro, they don't wanna miss out. How can Spike can be racist when he made the 25th Hour, and usually cast Italians in his movies.
