Hornswaggle/Coach match makes a better fit Yeah, keep the little people working with each other.
-
Triple H needs to get his heat back since he only won by disqualification the last time.
-
Sorry Jamie, you're not tall.
-
Damn good match. I liked the finish because Kennedy's leg work neutralized Hardy's aerial offense so he had to come up with a different way to win.

Take a drink for every jobber buzzword/buzzphrase! "Fun to watch" "Bright future" "Good hands" "Full of potential" Thank goodness Lawler was around to remind us that Kendrick and London are little.

Gateway Championship Wrestling is scheduled to make its return next month with a show on Friday 4/13 in Overland and Saturday 4/14 in Mt. Vernon. During GCW's absence, a couple of other promotions have been making waves in the area. The Lethal Wrestling Alliance has been around a while and several wrestlers work for them that used to work for GCW. Alex Shelley wrestled at last night's LWA show in Fairview Heights in a great match with Nick Tyson...heck, it was a strong show all around and I was fortunate to be in attendance. Another new promotion is called FIST(Future Independent STars of Wrestling) and it runs primarily in the Metro East area. A lot of promotions seem to prefer running in Illinois instead of dealing with the excessive regulations and massive fees associated with the Missouri State Athletic Commission. Bumpity. Still some good STL-area wrestling...LWA was fun this past Saturday and I got to briefly meet Samoa Joe. Yay.
-
If Jericho comes anywhere close to the title, I will be pleasantly surprised.
-
I hope Carlito thanked Triple H for making him a star tonight.
-
The big question of the night...did Triple H snort as he was laughing at Vince? I HAVE TO KNOW!

Between the Hornswoggle thing and London's win, it was a good night to be a midget. Well, maybe not for Jeff Hardy, but two out of three ain't bad.

WWE General Discussion - September 2007
GCWPatrick replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
They actually did have a PPV match. It was at the February '96 In Your House PPV. Owen was ducking Shawn until Shawn offered to put up his WWF Title shot at WM12, so Owen finally agreed to have a match at that PPV which Shawn won and that was the blowoff. I think he may have been referring to the Shawn/Owen feud from late 1997/early 1998. I can only guess they wanted to shoot Austin to the top ASAP since they didn't know how long his neck would hold up, so Owen was moved to a feud with Shawn's DX compatriot Triple H over the European Title. I remember a great Shawn-Owen title match on Raw where Owen had the title won before HHH blatantly busted up the match to save the championship. -

At a sparsely-attended show(to be generous), one guy delivered a top-rope powerslam on the other(I think it was OuTtKaSt and Ian Storm but I'm not positive). Ben(on the house mic): I think that deserves a "GCW" chant! Audience: *not much noise* Ben(sarcastically): Thanks... -
A new masked wrestler in GCW initially went by the name "The Great Bukkake".

Nikki Strychnine vs. Jack Adonis in a match that was nothing but increasingly creative ways to deliver low blows. The commentators kept a running tally and Strychnine finally won after hitting Adonis in the groin with a barbed-wire-wrapped cross(which he had carried to the ring like a warped Antichrist). A very young Matt Sydal backs OuTtKaSt into the corner and turns to the fans to say "I'm not gonna hit him if you don't cheer!" Ryan Ash takes some sick chops from Chaz Wesson, nonchalantly rolls out of the ring, sticks his head under the ring apron, and screams in pain. GCW did a short-lived character called Mike The Mime. He did spots like "mopping the floor", inciting the opponent to charge at him and "slip" on the "wet floor". After the character's first match, promoter Big Bad Ben(who was doing the ring announcing) got in the ring with the mic and said "Wow...that was so much funnier when we thought of it." I'll come up with some more. -
Oh wow, I have some stories to tell about stinker shows... One of my favorite moments was when a wrestler dropped the F-bomb during a promo in front of an audience that was mostly parents and kids. Half of them left after that, leaving maybe a dozen or so people to see the final two matches of the night.

Time to finally find out who (tried to) kill Mr. McMahon?

The Next Gen Hart Foundation debut on OVW TV [JULY 28, 2007]
GCWPatrick replied to Oldschool's topic in The WWE Folder
Dude. 30-foot moonsaults. Seriously, the fact that the guy parades around with the last name Hart and WWE has not once but repeatedly said "...no, not worth the trouble" speaks volumes. -
What happens when wrestlers take a 'net review too seriously?...

Ah, that's right...it was a nice thought though.
-
Keeping my fingers crossed that Matt Sydal or Delirious will be the final entrant in Ultimate X, but it would be a longshot.
-
Hopefully Kennedy will learn how to work and this sort of thing wouldn't happen.
-
One of them will need to change his finisher to avoid confusion in the marketplace...

Not sure whether it's informative or disturbing when certain internet reporters know EXACTLY what Jeff's "hankie code" means...
