So are these predictions or wishful thinking?
-
Going to the one in St. Charles tomorrow night...the last one here was very good. Wish we were getting Angle-Styles like Cape...our main is Angle-Christian(which was the main event we got at the house show earlier this year). Looks like a good card nonetheless...also going to an indy show tonight in O'Fallon, IL so it's a full weekend ahead.

Thankfully I haven't heard JR say that in recent weeks, but I noticed it a few weeks in a row when he'd make some offhand comment "don't talk about her hips" regarding Natalya.
-
I think WWE's just making Victoria and Natalya look like fools at this point. And don't talk about her(Natalya's) hips... I guess she's Molly Holly Part Deaux at this point?
-
"Curt And Jerk" = "Curtain Jerk", I presume. Cute.
-
Oh yeah, and they're not really hitting each other.

Comparing The Brian Kendrick to Mitch Hedberg
GCWPatrick replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in The WWE Folder
The Brian Kendrick opened up a yogurt and underneath the lid it said "Please Try Again" because they were having a contest he was unaware of. He thought he might have opened the yogurt wrong, or maybe Yoplait was trying to inspire him. "Come on Brian, don't give up! Please try again!" A message of inspiration from your friends at Yoplait...fruit on the bottom, hope on top! -
Got as low as $3.27 around the St. Louis area but it seems to be going back up over the past few days...
-
Hey look, it's "up-and-coming wrestlers = young punks who don't respect THE BIZ or THE BOYZ IN THE BACK" Part MCMXVIII. Maybe it'll actually work this time.

There is no way for Edge to break up with Vickie and remain a heel.
-
That WAS one of my main thoughts...Edge was an idiot to even show up on Raw, especially a night after royally screwing over Batista to "get rid of him for good". Heels do tend to do stupid things in the name of self-glorification, I suppose...just like faces do stupid things in the name of fair play. It's all part of RASSLIN. I guess an underlying theme was that Edge felt insulted that JR was upset about going to Smackdown...
-
Someone mentioned the irony of Edge living by MITB and dying by MITB...don't forget the other irony of the title change: It happened on Raw where his darling Vickie couldn't do a damn thing about it like order an immediate rematch in a 17-on-1 handicap match with Chavo as referee where Punk could only win if Edge spontaneously combusted or something like that.

The one (and only!) Raw thread for 16/6/2008
GCWPatrick replied to TheFranchise's topic in The WWE Folder
My reaction to the main event run-in was along the lines of "are you serious?" -
Guess it makes some sense since there's already a Matt on the roster...

Living around St. Louis, prices on each side of the Mississippi River are very different. I saw 3.89 today in St. Louis and filled up last week for around 3.75, but I saw at least one IL gas station that had 4.19.
-
Saw a gas station in Illinois(Metro STL area) that had 3.89.

Most I've ever done at one time is around ten minutes...my biggest weakness is that I have a lot of trouble remembering all of my stuff when I'm on stage. I try to figure out good segues and ways to expand on my existing material...that way, one thing flows straight into another. As far as comediennes go...Nikki Glaser and Andi Smith were both on Last Comic Standing and they were from my neck of the woods. I've heard people say that Nikki's style is similar to Silverman's though.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for Thursday
GCWPatrick replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Memo to Eric: If they ever ask you to enter from the ceiling...JUST. SAY. NO. -
Probably Greg Warren... I try to make it to the Westport open-mic every Tuesday night...don't always get on stage, but it's fun to just watch the show and see some of the up-and-coming comics as well as in-town pros like Greg.

Not when the line is delivered with all the manufactured enthusiasm of Michael Cole on a Ritalin overdose.
-
On 77 stage appearances and counting...first stage appearance was just under two years ago(June of '06). I had never even set foot in a comedy club prior to May of '06, amazingly enough.
-
STL area...around 3.19 on the Missouri side of the river, closer to 3.39 or 3.49 in Illinois.

Holy Shit, that guy's like Jack Evans on crack. Can he actually wrestle though or does he just do these insane spots? In either case, he's entertaining as hell! He's pretty awesome. Here's his wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takuya_Sugi. He goes by the names Yoshitsune and El Blazer the most often, but has, like, 12 different gimmicks. He's currently getting a pretty big push in Michinoku Pro, and just beat Great Sasuke a few days ago. RIDICULOUS. In a good way. I particularly (heart) that rope-run dropkick.

St. Louis area has a great comedy scene with several open-mics available to up-and-coming comics...there's the Fairview Heights Funny Bone in Illinois on Sunday nights(except for tonight of course), St. Peters Comedy Forum on Monday nights, and the Westport Funny Bone on Tuesdays. http://www.rooftopcomedy.com has a great collection of clips from open-mic shows and other performances around the country...look under "Patrick Brandmeyer" to see my stuff.
