There was one jackass fan...and Artest didn't even attack the right guy. And EVEN so, throwing a cup of beer on someone is not carte blanche to physically assault anyone (excepting maybe budweiser, then you might be ok) At least in my worldview, I save my physical retaliation for more meaningful situations. A cup of beer can't kill you. A stray punch can, especially if you miss or someone ducks and you hit a small child. Lots of random things can happen in a melee/mob situation. None of them turn out good. But blaming Magic Johnson for -intentionally- endangering his wife is a bit presumptuous. I mean was he even having sex with his wife while he was cheating on her? Most men who are cheating do it because they AREN'T having sex with their wife for whatever reason.

Magic is paid to give his thoughts on the NBA, and those are his opinions. He's also a FAR better player than Artest will ever be and despite the relatively immoral (to some people) things Magic Johnson did off the court, he never started an assault (and promoted his record label a week and a half later during an interview about the situation), destroyed a video camera, or in general caused the type of team-fragmenting grief that Artest creates. I'm thrilled about Jermaine O'neal distancing himself from Artest, that speaks a lot for his character.

Ron Artest is going batshit crazy. Him saying stuff like that just ruins any trade value. (You really think the lakers are gonna try to do any 3-team trades to desperately get a guy that just mouthed off on one of their greats)

This is a good list. It seems to really honor shows and movies that do something different, that "Bring the goods' as it were.

Double Dragon wasn't THAT bad. It at least sort of had something fun to it, especially for a kid. Mortal Kombat (the first movie) was a fun albeit really cheesy movie. MK2 was a travesty of a movie with bad blue-screen type affects and even CHEESIER and more over the top ridiculous lines delivered in an even more ridiculous manner with a beginning that made absolutely no sense to anyone.

Green Bay is a mess right now. And that's unfortunate. Favre just is not playing well anymore. Aaron Rodgers hasn't had nearly enough practice time, and isn't on the type of team to be able to step in and win as a rookie (especially one that only looked good in college due to Jeff Tedford's system, not his ability). Their defense is worthless other than Nick Barnett right now. They haven't drafted well in recent years (Don't you think Green Bay would like to have Shawne Merriman to go with Nick Barnett and still have gotten someone like Charlie Frye later (who's looking solid for cleveland) or maybe waited till THIS year and picked up a guy like Omar Jacobs or the guy out of Vanderbilt (his name escapes me right now) or even Leinart. They KNEW Favre was going to play all year, so now they still have no real clue what they have in Rodgers, but have enough doubts they may not draft anyone on defense for the 2nd straight year in the first round, when that's their problem. I mean holy shit: They gave up 40+ points to Kyle fuckin Boller and Jamal "I've been to jail and I don't like running into people now that I've been f'ed in the ass" Lewis.

Whoops, accidentally deleted everything earlier. Anyhow, I can do sports (NBA/NFL/General sports), Books (Scifi/fantasy and literature), movies, and video games. I think we should do roundtable type discussions on the nfl and nba playoffs/draft with all the people who end up writing on those topics. Also if anyone's interested I could do daily nba game reviews and weekly NBA league reviews. (Mostly opinion-free, and I'm not team biased due to my location in a non-NBA market )

Why does it have to be in an NFL-sized stadium? Why not a smaller stadium, like where a minor league baseball team would play? Even a small, D2 college's stadium (such as Harvard's stadium) would work, and look pretty old-school, to boot. Rutgers stadium has a nice look to it, and it's pretty close to MILLIONS of people. and it's not that big.

I didn't say the o-line would get run over. I said that Eli Manning has happy feet and insinuated that because of that he'd throw lots of picks/get sacked a lot. He stands in the pocket too long and gets lost sometimes when heavy pressure comes on him. Giants have an average like that is good in run blocking decent in pass protection. I said that DALLAS has a terrible line because of their offensive tackles.
-
You really think that the NFC East teams are so good as to be able to compete with the top AFC teams. In the Giants I see a WILDLY inconsistent team with a happy foot quarterback that would throw 6 int's to cinci and get sacked 6 times by the steelers. Dallas would have the same results because they have NO offensive tackles that can play worth a damn right now, hence why Washington destroyed them. And Washington is almost exactly like the bears, without as good of a defense. The AFC North and the AFC South are the two strongest at the top divisions in football. Indy, Cinci, Jax, and Pit (in that order) are imho the 4 best TEAMS in football. Cleveland is a decent team too that suffers from having to play Pit AND cinci twice (imagine if the brownies got to play detroit and GB twice instead...they could be winning the NFC north.) Tennessee is much like Cleveland not a terrible team either, just young.

That's just not even accurate. I apologize, chicago scored 6 points in garbage time on pittsburgh after I had turned the game off. so it's a combined 12 points, 6 of which aren't even relevant. The reality of the situation remains the same.
-
It's just a telling situation that the top two teams in the NFC North scored a combined 6 points against the steelers in back to back weeks...but the Bears slaughter the falcons. the NFC is still terrible, if not worse because it doesn't have Philadelphia anymore (even Seattle is a suspect team that looked vulnerable against the Titans) It's plausible that the top -8- teams in the AFC, could win out in the NFC. And that's sad. I mean San Diego, Kansas City, Jax, and Pittsburgh...two of those teams WILL miss the playoffs, and they're good (decent in the case of K.C.) teams.

Think by Friday we'll see the pacers with whomever they get for Artest?

I wish we had that here. Free TNA PPV's on TV with only a 1 week delay?!? Sheesh.

Camby will still be on the team, and Yao is leading the league in scoring from the center position...it's not like he's having a terrible year. He's an excellent player who needs better conditioning and to stay out of foul trouble (he gets hit with ticky-tack fouls A LOT for a big guy, all the calls they don't make on Shaq, they give to Yao) The problem with Elton Brand...is most of the people in China are going to vote for T-Mac at forward since he's on the same team as Yao...and KG has such a huge rep that he's gonna get votes anyway. And then you have Duncan so there's that other guy with a huge rep...it's just not gonna happen unfortunately.

Brevin Knight is great...and would be greater if a team who NEEDS him could get him. Houston Rockets anyone...brevin knight would fit there BEAUTIFULLY.
-
The problem with Marbury is he's never done anything to try and diminish the expectations. When he got to New York he -embraced- all the huge expectations heapedon his shoulders as a savior of the knicks...when IT never should have made that deal in the first place (He's such a terrible GM...good at talent evaluation, bad at the financial aspect) I'd like to see him go to a situation WITHOUT the pressure (Utah or maybe Atlanta) and see if he can put it together there.

If anything the conference RPI is -only- significant around now. Basically after December in-conference games mess with the rankings and it becomes less significant as to which conferences are better than others.

Most things are usually comcast's fault in the end. But it's fun arguing with their customer service techs, and getting refunds every month because they can't correctly diagnose service problems. They're really good at my current location though, so that's always a plus.

To update the main page. A. You need a centralized location one could go to submit articles. I could write a wealth of articles on any number of topics if given a place to submit them (I spend most of my free time during my work day here and would love to help improve it). B. You need to tie the 'main page' in with the forums. Listings of recent/notable articles could appear directly above the apropriate forums so interested people could read them, and links within the articles to apropriate/related forum threads to facilitate conversation on those articles. That's all for now...if there IS a newfangled way of article submission I'd love to know because it would not be difficult for me to write any number of random things during my substantial 9-5 free time. Also what Rudo said...I could write about any number of topics in an informed and creative manner...but a poll determining the content most desired would make it easier to focus my efforts on something people might actually read.

Well look at it like this, 99% of the guys that go aren't going to be what they're looking for either. I could show up and be laughed at as a 240 lb 5'10" VERY average looking guy with bad knees and no for a fact I'd have no chance. Now I'd make a GREAT commentator/interviewer because i have an awesome speaking/radio voice...but I somehow doubt they're looking for that They want big (naturally so), tall, uniquely looking guys with some athletic talent. Emphasis on big and tall for sure. That's what you really need. Big boobs or big muscles.

I find Melina to be hot. Even moreso compared to the rest of the wwe women (Stacy Keibler being the only one I truly find gorgeous, she's got a unique look and this coming from a guy that usually hates super-skinny girls) She has a nice figure, her face isn't exactly awesome and I'm sure fairly plain without makeup...but most women aren't supermodels, so I prefer women that actually look...you know -attainable- I'm a realist

It's both a good thing and a bad thing about the nba. Good that no single star can really dominate the league...but bad because you either need two dominate stars or a team full of extremely good players (like the pistons and now potentially the clippers) to compete. I think the team full of good players route is easiest for a young team...but it also disintegrates fast as the team performance leads to huge contracts for the individual pieces and breaks up the team.

I'm dreading the diva search. Christy is gone (I never liked her anyway) and what's her name that won this year is less than worthless... Maria is the best thing to come of the diva search, and she didn't even win.
